As Hermione Grainger said in year one: "What an idiot." You differentiate among the top 4 - and your comment regarding Strength of Schedule for Oregon has me laughing hysterically: "Oregon's SOS is only one above Penn State's; I don't think it is accurate. It must be because of the weak teams they played at the beginning of their season." OF COURSE ITS! Strength of schedule and strength of record are straight mathematical calculations which ignore subjective "perceptions", IT IS WHAT IT IS. When your feelings take over all Objective Factors - you arrive at the mess which is a Committee defining seedings and matchups which have no basis on game evidence and full reliance on "eye candy" and regional biases. Your very arguments for Oregon and Penn State, if applied objectively, would also be valid in making BYU and Miami Championship Contenders. And are exactly the types of arguments we have gotten for years is BCS to elevate certain 1 and 2 loss SEC (and to a slightly lesser extent 1 loss B1G and Notre Dame) teams over undefeated teams from the other self-styled "Major Conferences". The sport continues to justify a caste system and apartheid.
I understand what you’re saying but it’s my personal rankings of the teams, so I’m not going to be fully objective in my rankings. I know SOS is purely math and there isn’t some guy just willy nilly making the rankings, but, in my opinion, SOS punishes team unfairly. Take Oregon, yes, Oregon has played some awful teams but they also have wins over Boise and OSU, which I believed showed they were capable of beating the teams they were likely to meet in the CFP. I didn’t put Miami or Byu into Championship Contenders because I don’t believe they’ve proven they can compete with the top CFP teams. Sure it might be a little unfair because these teams haven’t been afforded the chance to prove themselves against the top teams, but again, that’s why it’s just my personal rankings.
All teams have weaknesses. And all college teams have a problem. Outside of competition not being so great (And Louisville just beat Clemson mind you, and we beat them, and now they are ranked. So we have a ranked win now).... How does Miami not have championship contender written on them? We literally have the best QB in the nation with Ward and a damn good WR in Restrepo..... lol The disrespect..... lol 🙌
Miami is a great team and Cam Ward is back to being the favorite for the Heisman for good reason. But let’s be real, they were losing to VT and Cal in the last 2 minutes of both those games. They were down 11 to Duke this week. Obviously they came back and won because they have one of the most high powered offenses in the country that can hit teams in the face and put up 21 in a quarter, but having that many close scrapes against middle of the pack ACC teams worries me. They should win out and play SMU or Clemson in the ACC Championship and that game should tell us all we need to know. If they win, then obviously they’re top contenders but until then, it’s hard to put them any higher than I have them.
I think it’s time for Penn State to cut their losses with James Franklin. He’s a good coach who wins the games he’s supposed to but I don’t think he’ll ever get them to level they’re capable of
Agreed. A lot of these teams benefit from easy schedules and I think would have a lot of trouble coming up against teams like Georgia or Texas. Oregon is really the only team here with a win over another contender.

i’m now penn state sad
They kept it close and should win out. I’m excited to see how they fare in the playoff which they should still make
@ i disliked the call to throw on the 4th and by goal so much
@ the drive home felt very unpleasing

@ yeah i totally agree with you dawg
BUT, i doubt any of these teams will be the national champion..

@@RioWatchesYT BYU has beaten multiple ranked opponents. Not saying they compare to Oregon, just saying they have beaten "contenders"
clown show.
