    He's definitely the toughest dude on the circuit. If he improves his swim 5% and fixes his mobility for the run he's going to smash 8 next year

    From not knowing to much about Lionel before this years race ..I have to say he is probably the most inspiring athlete out of all of them ...so down to earth ,say it as it is and the most honest .....enjoy your break Lionel and can't wait to see you racing soon

    Great interview Talbot! Very cool to here the recap from his perspective. We watched the race online and wondered about that limp.

    When Lange passed him I was really disheartened. That lasted about a second until I realized this was the BEST thing that could have happened. Talbot got the only interview I've seen where he agreed that passing at 23 was best case for him. Why?LS wants the win against a healthy Frodeno, weather that isn't unseasonably cool, and a Keinle who isn't toast after towing on a guy chasing the bike record. Add in Brownlee and Gomez next year (?) and THAT will be the race he wants to win. Watch him wait for Lange at T2 so they can go head to head for the whole run.

    This guy is absolutely amazing. I love the transparency he gives into his race and training. I am convinced Patrick, Sebi and Jan will think of this dangerous competitor that is Lionel when they pick up their training again. Thanks Talbot for those great videos!!!! It's also great to see our tri community on TH-cam grow! Keep up the good work!

    I didn't realize how ridiculous it is that he says he doesn't want to move, he literally doesn't move anything the entire time except his left hand haha. Not anything. Like a statue.

    wether it is he or Patrick or Frodeno... I'm pretty sure, if there is not a thunderstorm, the winner next year will break the 8 hours... all 3 of them incredible guys!!!

    I like his comment about the swim part. He's weak in swimming and those faster than him chose to follow him in the 2nd pack instead of passing him. Which means he's respected. However, I am of those who think that swimming will be always limiting him. He did lot of swim training last year (TrainingPeaks) without significant improvement. He said in one of his interviews that he's targeting 48'. I think he's too optimistic. His swimming is not smooth enough to reach that goal. By the way, I am a swimmer.

      Cool story. How'd you go at Kona?

    • @lukelyons7255
      @lukelyons7255 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The same amount of swimming at his age won't give the same adaptations that you get in your teens. I think he'd be better off if he ditched the endless pool and started training like a swimmer but his progress last year wasn't bad by any stretch. - Ex-swimmer.

      i think he meant the audio quality of your voice. you have a mic for interviewee now you need one for interviewer.

    • @Weaztek

      Or better yet just edit out the questions in post.

    • @AmateurExpert23
      @AmateurExpert23 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will rate this well above BwB because you didn't go to the well with "so tell me one more time on camera about your past". You're also the only one to follow up the "were you limping question" to get him to fully answer it. Others seemed worried he'd take offense at a critical comment about his stride... because LS is clearly very opposed to critical thinking ;)

    • @Vivungisport
      @Vivungisport 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Talbot Cox. Yes a great interview with relevant Q´s . It's not the interviewers voice that are bad,, it's the microphone..

    How in the hell dont you know that your legs are not the same length. If you go to a foot specialist you can rectify this and improve your run times strongly
