What an informative video. Some birds will always peck the nest box. The male has to get the box to the female's specs. In this case they maybe removing any sharp edges, it looks like a new nest box. Once the hatchlings are in full swing the adults will be going in and out of that entrance 100's of times a day.
I was definitely worried about this, so I carefully enlarged it twice, little by little. Thank goodness they are still around. Im not posting new videos since all visits are same but let me post something this weekend. Stay tuned. 👌
They move so quickly and stiffly, they don't look real. So delightful to watch ❤.
Most resources online recommend a diameter of 28 mm for bluetits and 32 mm for greattits. Thanks for sharing these videos.

Apparently, they think the doorway needs a little altering!
Beautiful nest and amazing birds❤
🙏
Man, they really hate that spikey bit in the entrance there. Can't you take some sandpaper to it or something?
2:34 he/she pecked it and a few seconds later pushes their foot upon the splinter so the splinter gets pushed down some more.
Barney and Betty...lol
sure are taking their time. Sumer is going to be over before they get it going.
It's been wet and miserable weather over the UK March and into early April, at this rate summer may not happen at all...
I have the blue tits nest in my garden, when I did enlarge the nest hole the birds disapeared for two weeks but luckily they return back

Can you call it a nest yet?
They're going to bring some nesting material to build the nest cushion.
