It's like Lightning cut her hair, dyed it, and traded her gunblade for a whip. Pretty rad. While some will call it lazy development for palette-swapping characters, I like to think of it as a fun easter egg since FF Type 0 is part of the Nova Crystallis... series? Epic? Whatever. Lol
That's not Sice, it's Sice's girlfriend (or Lightning's twin sister), Seven. They didn't show Sice in this presentation... yeah, you see her fighting a bit, but she didn't have an intro. P.S.: Sice & Seven are the best thing about Type-0. White / Grey haired chicks rock !
Do you think that this is a classic rpg? There is like zero similarities combat wise. The worlds of the old ones were certainly better though and it seems like this one is like that.
vileguy Because final fantasy have been doing so hot lately eh? Lets be honest, turn based battle systems tend to be crap. No true strategy is truly needed, especially in most final fantasies. Sorry but no, I enjoy the grindy nature of the games and the flashy attacks but lets be honest, the battle system itself is terrible. The only thing a rpg NEEDS is a really good story which sadly is what Square have been missing in a lot of their new games. You could pretty much finish FF7 by using attack, cure spells and limit breaks, status effect tend to be useless if its not protect, shell, mighty guard and regen. Why would anyone use a spell such as bio is beyond me because of how useless they are.
K so I finished playing the game and this is really recommended(SPOILERS on the capabilities of the gama) ~no waiting/its real time battle ~after finishing the game you'll get alternate choices like (if the first gamethrough u infiltrate, the second u'll get a choice if that or you sneak in which is really fun because u'll encounter different enemies and new environments) ~sideQUEST there's one where u use vanish to see the girls (hehe) ~RIGHT IN DA FEELZ ENDING. not like any other ff games ~the map environment feels like ff13. ~If u'r tired of grinding. I recommend to level up 6 of your characters then leave the two for summon if u are in a bit in trouble ~FUN FUN FUN!!! ~u can recruit people not from class 0 ~CHOCOBO BREEDING :3 I'll not spoil the rest :D have fun playin' LoL im still not done on my second gamethrough on my psp :3
I'm sorry but I still don't understand the hate for this title I always believe that even if a game does not have the best graphics even for the new consoles that if the story and gameplay are good then it deserves recognition for it's other virtues maybe folks are still a little butthurt about that 13 saga thing or it not being on the vita's small install base whatever. But I like where this game is going in term's of it's narrative.
in any case, from whatever reviews i looked at for this game, people genuinely enjoyed it. The only gripes i've heard about the game are its camera and its difficulty, both of which Hajime Tabata, the game's director, says will be reconfigured and improved in this re-release.
am i the only one who thinks that the final fantasy XIII was awesome? ( putting the linear gameplay to the side of course), just love that battle system, and Lightning :3 and dont get me wrong im a pretty old FF fan, im just not a douche like most fans are about the new way they are trying to take with FF, for me they are making almost everything right with the last FFs, all they need to do is put that open world fell back
Lightning was a terrible character, so was the rest of the cast, the combat was boring and the story was garbage, and the world was a corridor...the guy in charge of FFXIII should be shot.
i never completed it(my copy was stolen) but i do agree i thought it was a great game. nice combat, great graphics and despite what some might say i thought the story was awesome... atleast as far as i got.
I totally agree with you! I love the combat in XIII-2. I even had sweaty palms playing it. It was pretty intense for a turn base game or ATB battle system ever. Yeah, the story is weak but the gameplay made it special for me.
Late game is all about magic, and Rem is the strongest magic user in the game, thats why she is OP. Although SPOILER you don't get her for the final dungeon though..END SPOILER
insane dodging, lots of mp and ability to optimize kill sight with her osmose skills, and preraise ability. if that isn't OP enough... Ace is a good choice too but I didn't like how low his HP was and moderate magic stats. His range is amazing tho. Jack was just too slow for late game and mission mode.
nightskycry Ace can surpass Rem in magic if he sacrifice some strength. Hes main problem is that hes MP is really low compared to Rem but outside of Deuce(later on) who can even compare to her? At least he can recover MP with hes open deck(spirit). Deuce, Rem, Cater and Ace have the best potential for magic.
Despite being rather hard, this is a good game. I played the psp version and it was amazing, especially the FMV. For storyline, I find it the opposite of FFXIII because you are pretty much free to roam and can make choices of what you wanna do. High replay value as well. However, the many characters are lacking background and screen time to flesh out their characters so at first you may not feel anything for them. It changes during the very last chapter as it was so damn powerful, gorgeous, and hit you right in tye heart. Too bad there is no Deuce and Cater in this preview. Deuce is my favorite character as support and Cater as my main :P
Besides Rem and Machina the others were basically lab rats so not much story there, the compendium thing in the library only tells you about there personality and that they all grew up in a facility from age 7-8. The free roaming is kinda restrictive because of the time till next mission, so you cant go back and forth between the world map and academy without losing 6 hours every time. But atleast once your at the world map you got all the time you need I think.
This still doesn't excite me as much as a Final Fantasy game should, yes it looks like hectic fun that I will enjoy my time with but it just doesn't feel on the epic scale that the series has been known for, I'll take it with a pinch of salt though as its a spin off. Will no doubt be giving it a first day purchase though as I have stuck with the series through its highs and lows since VII and have never really been a portable gaming player so I'm happy this has come to a main console. Tbh this is the first time I've been more excited to play a demo than the main game it came with, now FFXV is one game I am eagerly anticipating. Roll on March 17th!! ~ Sam
I will say in terms of atmosphere and tone, Type-0 is the darkest Final Fantasy to date as it holds no punches about the theme of war. From the clips of cutscenes and gameplay that I've seen, and if the intro cutscene was no exception, many people lose their lives. There is actually a plot element to people's deaths as well, but i'm not sure if I should disclose it or not, so reply back if you want to know. Gameplay wise, from the button prompts and action, it feels like a more fluid Crisis Core with some elements of Lightning Returns' system. I feel you'll be hugging the controller and making use of all abilities as well, so there's that. On top of that, staple Final Fantasy aspects such as the world map, towns, airship and chocobo travel are in this game as well, so old-school Final Fantasy players have some favorable ground to work with. In short, this game should be worth the time for any JRPG fan as this game does something different. Hopefully I'll have enough cash in the pocket to buy this on day 1. It's also unanimous that this game did better critically than XIII so that's some incentive.
Cinque and Jack were the hardest to control. I struggle a lot trying to level up those two in the psp version. The game was really good though. The battle system is suitable for those who sucks at the original battle system (like me for example) but still wants to enjoy a cool graphic game and meaningful plot.
Her name is Seven...i created a character named Seven about two years ago...a cute lil character. Guess the name wasn't as unique as I thought it was..
Everyone talk about how Seven look like Lightning. I'm I the only one who think Jack look like Demyx? You know, the sitar wielding water guy from Kingdom Hearts?
Just beat this on PSP. Aside from Rem and Machina, you'll need to level at least 9 others by the end of the game. Things get very very crazy. Luckily, leveling is not hard and it's actually really fun to play a variety. Can even switch between characters on the fly, and have others on standby when party members die. Totally different tactics than normal FF here, and it is a breath of fresh air.
So they increased the graphical quality from the PSP version, which is amazing BTW. However, I feel that the biggest improvement is the animation and FPS compared to the original and it looks a lot closer to the frame rate of FF15. I am hyped for the demo of FF15 as well, but I've been itching to play this in English for so damn long.
Its a good game, altough the huge problem I have with most recent FF (all post X) is the story line, like before we had memorable characters, Rydia, Kain, Kefka, Locke, Terra, Shadow, Zack, Aerith, Laguna, Squall, Zidane, Vivi, Tidus, but since FF XII where the only memorable was Balthier, they don't click, the epic is gone. In FF T0 is quite the same, only Machina and Rem gets highlighted a bit, its all about the war, the Class Zero cadets background (unless you go to codex and read) its like none existant, what I loved about FF was the sense of a epic story, with great characters, I don't care about the battle system, I loved FF XII one and Type 0 as well, but I want the epic story to come back, hope FF XV bring back the spark. Srry for bad english.
I agreed with you in most of it, but a good battle system is as important as a good story. If the battle system is good but the story is bad is as flawed as a bad battle system with a good story.
FFXV seems to be focused on a grand "road trip"-like adventure so I have high hopes for that epic-feeling journey. Especially after seeing the new gameplay of the open world. I'm excited for FF Type 0 because it's inspired by wars in history and I think that's an awesome inspiration for a game like final fantasy. Also, the director for FF Type-0 was the director for FF7: Crisis Core, which was my first Final Fantasy game and what got me into the series. I love that game to no end.
Then you gonna love FF T0, the batte system is almost the same, with the twist that you get 14 characters to use during missions (you use them all on some very hard ones) and they interact very well with each other plus you get to invoke powerful Eidolons such as Odin or Ifrit, those 14 includes supportive, others tanky, agile, power houses, the battle is fantastic, the story.. Well, at least is better than FF XIII, but I wish they would developed the characters more though. The overall plot is really really dark, way more than FFT WOTL, its a really nice game, but don't expect character development like others FF. Other than that you gonna love it.
Last great rpg I loved from square was Bravely Default, awesome story but the characters interacting with each other made the experience all the more enjoyable. That Ringabell lol!
Some nice Japanese cuties there :) Cinque looks like she could be a fun character to play. She looks a little slow but makes up for it with powerful attacks. Rem looks pretty fun too. Her attacks look like they are swift and deadly. I am so pumped for this game. I can hardly wait!
I really like martial artists! I mean look..I fighting those gigantic enemies with my Bare Hands!hhaha.pretty hardcore although nothing will beat sabin suplexing a ghost train for me haha
Seems like if you're a hardcore FF fan then it should be a good buy. Those that have been burned and are sceptical I say this: Pretty decent tech demo for the winner they got planned. Imagining Sabin fight like 8 or Zidane fight like 10...
Am I the only new kinda Final Fantasy fan who enjoys the gameplay of only Crisis Core, Type 0 and XV? xD I do love the themes, characters and plots of maaaaany FF titles but I can't play anything that doesn't have action combat.
battle system looks great! great abilities! though the graphics left me wanting more, better. But I understand cause its originally a PSP game. Im still excited for this and for the FF15 demo
Makes sense. Final Fantasy XV, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII, The 3rd Birthday and Final Fantasy Type-0 were all under the same director, Hajime Tabata.
Are these all the characters or are there more? And when you play this game can you choose who you want to play as? And switch between the characters in battle?
there are a lot more, look at some other youtube vids about this FF, I think there are ~10, and you can choose 3 at all times, and you can change the main one when you want in battle
There are 14 playable characters to be exact and in this video only half of them are present in this video. you can chose three members to go to the front lines and when someone died you can replace him/her with the other 11 members in reserve to swap him/her that unconscious. depends on the mission some of the side mission only require 4 members to bring. but the main story missions bring all of the 14 members of class 0 cadets on mission
2:29 Seven reminds me of a white hair Lightning. I love her
Thought the same
IKR
I was thinking Dante with the red cape and all.
Plot Twist: Seven is Ivy from Soul Calibur in high school
eight is like Might Guy/ Rock Lee from Naruto. Recklessness is always welcomed in my rpg party lol
Bushy Eyes are also welcomed
I had the most fun playing eight. Once you get his styles he gets so much variety in his play style.
glad I could see what the game finally looks like, just straight gameplay. Looks nice.
Eight puts Zell and Tifa to shame.
haha yeah. Though, Tifa in the movie was pretty awesome
i dunno, if he can suplex a train like Sabin from FFVI, then i'll be satisfied :D
We need more ff games like this
Seven looks like lightning lol....and cinque like it big...
Cinque's reason for her weapon is literally 'Since I'm going to kill monsters I will need a big weapon'
based Tetsuya Nomura designs, nuff said
Is it me or the character named seven looks a lot like lightning from final fantasy 13
I was thinking the same thing.
Rem reminds me of Ashe from FFXII.
More like Ivy from Soul Calibur... Just more Kid-friendly
She looks a lot like bullet from blazeblue, every time I see her I always say bullet.
Sean Yee She looks more like Paine from X-2
It says I'm watching in 1080p, but it doesn't look like 1080p...
Every time i watch this game i get exited about FFXV,
I think classic RPG games are dead, we need no more
Do you think that this is a classic rpg? There is like zero similarities combat wise. The worlds of the old ones were certainly better though and it seems like this one is like that.
Fairycancel absolutely not, this is action RPG, which i like the most :)
Firas almannaa I am not sure yet about FFXV but man do I want to play this XD. It just seems like it will be a lot of fun
vileguy Because final fantasy have been doing so hot lately eh? Lets be honest, turn based battle systems tend to be crap. No true strategy is truly needed, especially in most final fantasies. Fairycancel Agree :)
So seven is Lightning with white hair........such creativity......... damn
K so I finished playing the game and this is really recommended(SPOILERS on the capabilities of the gama)
~no waiting/its real time battle
~after finishing the game you'll get alternate choices like (if the first gamethrough u infiltrate, the second u'll get a choice if that or you sneak in which is really fun because u'll encounter different enemies and new environments)
~sideQUEST there's one where u use vanish to see the girls (hehe)

~the map environment feels like ff13.
~If u'r tired of grinding. I recommend to level up 6 of your characters then leave the two for summon if u are in a bit in trouble
~FUN FUN FUN!!!
~u can recruit people not from class 0
~CHOCOBO BREEDING :3
I'll not spoil the rest :D have fun playin'
LoL im still not done on my second gamethrough on my psp :3
Seven's face looks just like lightning.
I'm sorry but I still don't understand the hate for this title I always believe that even if a game does not have the best graphics even for the new consoles that if the story and gameplay are good then it deserves recognition for it's other virtues maybe folks are still a little butthurt about that 13 saga thing or it not being on the vita's small install base whatever. well the world has different opinions, im just sorry that you could not enjoy the game =(
You are not the only one Gui

Eight is the most badass character out there.
With his superb attacks on up/down/left/right stick.
Can't wait to see a lot of you seven once this game hits the shelves on March 17, 2015
Eight is definitely my favourite as of today...super hype for this game
This looks amazing! Where can I get a demo?
alternate universe Lightning?2:30
Looks good, though i wish this video showed all the characters :(
NuclearBunny970 I like Trey better but I do see where you're coming from. And not everyone is garbage since Rem is the most OP of them all
Personal favorite is Ace, he was the 1st character they give you and I see him as a main Character, although Jack and Rem are OP tough.
Late game is all about magic, and Rem is the strongest magic user in the game, thats why she is OP. Although SPOILER you don't get her for the final dungeon though..END SPOILER

i love that this game isn't just an hd version, the graphics really changed and far from psp version
but the loading screens are all over the place just like before...
This is the first FF game to have a M rating
Eight Went Full Beserker Mode
This will calm my Final fantasy urges until the FFXV demo comes out and the FFXV itself will be glorious!
Ending Boss Gilgamesh enough said of the video. He'd make one heck FF villain though

999 has a guy called 7
Everyone talk about how Seven look like Lightning. I'm I the only one who think Jack look like Demyx? You know, the sitar wielding water guy from Kingdom Hearts?
I loved playing as Seven on Type-0 on PSP so in going to use her when I buy this for PS4 :D
Would definitely main Rem
Just beat this on PSP. Aside from Rem and Machina, you'll need to level at least 9 others by the end of the game. Things get very very crazy. I'm glad that's the case
OH MY GOD WAS THAT KURASAME YELLING AT THE END?! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Wished they showed Sice. I'm all about that scythe!
Square better go find a big bag to put all the money in soon.
Awesome, l can't wait for this game :D
Looks like 8 is going to be my main squeeze lol
The lips aren't synchronized with the words right? It's not just me?

where is the hd lol
I'm assuming there will be a part two??? :)
No. At least not with the same characters...
Some nice Japanese cuties there :)
Cinque looks like she could be a fun character to play. She looks a little slow but makes up for it with powerful attacks. Rem looks pretty fun too. Her attacks look like they are swift and deadly.
I am so pumped for this game. I can hardly wait!
4:15 Oh hello there god hand. It's been a while.
Looking at the release dates of the game, I'm surprised its coming 2 days earlier here in NA than Japan.
I really like martial artists! I mean look..I fighting those gigantic enemies with my Bare Hands!hhaha.pretty hardcore although nothing will beat sabin suplexing a ghost train for me haha
Pantsu shot at 3:26 lol
Over all I think I'm going to enjoy the shit out of Eight! He remind me to much of Rock Lee, am I right??
It did come out for japan. A lot of Japanese games are like this
This looks like the engine for the first Lost Planet
Lost planet 1 did not look like this at all... And I am a huge fan of that game. Perhaps lost planet 2 is closer though.
Impressive how the graphics are in this, it like a remake on the psp game.
When i saw the thumbnail I thought it was capcom's new design for Dante then I read the title
Of course "Seven" would like the most badass character. Dammit this is FFXIII all over again.
Where tf was trey, machina sice and ace my favorite characters?
This sexy combat!!!!!! Can't wait!
5:35
Rem: *YEET*
Seems like if you're a hardcore FF fan then it should be a good buy. Those that have been burned and are sceptical I say this: Pretty decent tech demo for the winner they got planned. Imagining Sabin fight like 8 or Zidane fight like 10...
I want this game and FF15 so bad
REM EIGHT NINE AND KING ARE ALL YOU NEED
MAGIC/Healer Lighnint bruiser Massive damdge Long range
is there any trailer of this with english subtitles.? why is this in french.? lol
I love all of them...except Machina. >_> Though I mostly love Cater, Deuce, and Cinque, my main team
i am so happy final fantasy type 0 it
go to be in english dubb
.
Apparently Lightning has an alter ego, SEVEN.
based Tetsuya Nomura designs (thumbs up)
what about the other ones ?!! where can we find the rest of the presentations ?
its dirge of cerberus 2
I think you may need to buy some eyeglasses. Sorry
So is this a remake? I ask because the "HD" and I haven't play FF since X.
Eight fighting style = Rock Lee (4:45 Eight Gate)
How is this age restricted
Whelp the lip syncing is off just a little.
My most trusted party
Ace, Machina and Rem. Noone can beat those.... well, they can kill Rem but since Queen is around everything is Purfact >.
Definitely getting this. :D
Looks pretty good :).
This looks cool!
4:46 "Eight Gates.... OPEN!!!"
-Rock Lee
this game play reminds me so much like "the 3rd birthday" a.k.a. parasite eve
Makes sense. Final Fantasy XV, Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII, The 3rd Birthday and Final Fantasy Type-0 were all under the same director, Hajime Tabata.
yes similar gameplay alone with crisis core one of the best Psp games
i just watched this for Seven.
Real men play Deuce. Her notes of death are OP if you know how to play her.
I want a remake for Final Fantasy XII :-)
I would really like to know the name of song that starts at 2:25 :)
"Vermilion Fire" aka Flames of Suzaku as it is known in other places
I don't think I'm ever gonna get used to the english on this game
What is the best team in this game?
what's the name of that song?
Hack n' Slash evolved into flash n' flash
Not really hack and slash... I think XD
SilverShion Its not hack and slash. You actually need to master each character to move forward in the game.
For fucks sake, where have I heard Sevens voice from?!
On a scale of one to ten, ten being your favorite FF game, how good is the story?
you should go read instead

THE DOMINIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are these all the characters or are there more? And when you play this game can you choose who you want to play as? And switch between the characters in battle?
there are a lot more, look at some other youtube vids about this FF, I think there are ~10, and you can choose 3 at all times, and you can change the main one when you want in battle
Thanks will look into it
14 characters in total that all play differently with their own tricks. Pretty cool ^_^.
