I hope that there will be some day a retrofit or something for older 3.x cars to get battery preheating.

We can only hope that Volkswagen listens. This feature likely requires a software update from Volkswagen. Here is a mention about it from VW www.linkedin.com/posts/klaus-zellmer-441b5b1b8_enyaq-activity-7199347910948323329-DNuj

Hey Jan and Wes, thanks for the in-depth and step-by-step description of the tail lights retrofit project. US ID.4 owners will probably have to stick to that option as Kufatec's support replied that they have no solution for us at the moment and that their tail light kit will not work with US-made ID.4s (it's even printed in the product description). I will be looking forward to seeing the next episodes on this topic as I am considering repeating Jan's steps on my 2023 Pro. Also, do you think that we can perform the same coding adaptations using OBDeleven, or we have to get VCDS tool for that? Thanks again!

Thank you for checking the videos Michael! For coding - if you have a way to unlock SFD, then you can use VCDS, if not OBD11 is the alternative. This is the dedicated discussion for this retrofit on VWIDTalk www.vwidtalk.com/posts/119787/.
