Some didn't like it but eventually as the episode progresses you'd understand why this song is appropriate for the final season just like other openings in their respective seasons. I love how this song portrays everything that’s about to happen so perfectly. The way it sounds like children are chanting their national anthem, portrays how Marley has used children in war for a very long time without the slightest inkling of remorse. The way they whispered, “This is my last war” at the end of the first verse is Eren saying, this war is the last that will ever occur before he destroys everything/everyone, or before he will set everyone free. The lyrics aren’t Japanese either, symbolizing the fact that the Nations are aligned to stop Eren, Marley and the Eldians working together to stop him, no two sides. The music screaming that war will come, no matter what they do to prevent it. As an anime fan only, I mostly have no idea what is going to happen, as I have kept it that way so that it will be much more of a surprise. I am sure the last season will surely bring tears out.

Well not really cuz then grisha would've showed Eren what's in the basement and eren would still have those powers considering that grisha was on his last months so they would've gotten to the same place but the outcome would also be different as reiner didn't hate himself and Armin wouldn't have gotten the colossal titan.
