      I agree, they truly are a timeless design, and it doesn't hurt that they are some of the most reliable trucks ever built. My dad's '90 c1500 has over 670k mi on the original throttle body injected 350. The valve covers have never even been off of it. He always used Castrol GTX and changed it every 3-5k mi. He jokes ghat with only ~200hp from the factory, the engine doesn't have enough power to hurt itself 😂. But she's a torquey sum bitch.

    I had 2 different Ford pickups with the 300 inline 6, an 81 F100 with a granny 4 speed, top speed...82 mph, that was bulletproof, bought it with 280,000 miles on it. Drove it 4 years, sold it with 350,000 miles, guy that bought it drove it 5 years to work everyday put another 80,000 miles on it. Hit a cow one morning going to work in the fog. I believe that motor would've ran forever.

    By far, my favorite truck is still the 1988-1998 GM fullsize Chevy trucks. I have a 1991 extended cab 2wd and with 331,000 miles it still runs and looks like a gem! Never replaced or rebuilt the old 350 5.7L engine (although the rear main seal has a few drips coming out but doesn't use much oil between oil changes), but had to rebuild the transmission 24 years ago. All the options including the A/C, power windows/locks, and cruise control works. I live in the "rust belt" and have not driven the truck in the winter time for 21 winters in the road salt. The body is immaculate and rust free. If you can keep the rust bug away and take care these trucks, they will run forever with few issues. I intend on keeping mine and never selling it.

    Our Daily Driver is a 1995 GMC 1500 small block V8 w / 320 k mileage and growing on original motor and still going , rebuilt tranny a few yrs ago , replaced water pump , about it besides routine maintenance , oil changes , etc .- paid $1500 for it nearly 10 yrs ago, when engine goes , will likely drop a junkyard motor in it and keep on trucking ! I like my trucks PAID for with no expensive electronics and fancy gizmos to break , and we use it as a TRUCK , mud on out boots , mud on our tires . Driven this truck all over the USA hauling all sorts of loads , trailers , camper, boats , you name it . Hell you can't even but a REAL work truck anymore if you wanted to it seems .

    • @LoriTobin-z8d
      @LoriTobin-z8d 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      With that TBI 350 you could probably get a shop to rebuild it and do a mile build and have a little fun with it also. They are very much alike to the old carbureted 350 which makes the parts cheap and quite reliable. I have 331,000 miles on my 350 in a 1991 Chevy C1500 and apart from a few drips coming out of the rear main seal on the engine, doesn't use much oil, never have to add between oil changes which are 5,000 mile changes and runs like a champ. If you do the regular maintenance on it, chances are you won't need to do an engine swap on it.

      Do you know what “reliable” means? Lol. If it always starts, and keeps running with reasonable maintenance, than it is “reliable.” It isn’t a list of the most powerful trucks, or trucks with the most torque. I’ve had a few friends & family with old 80’s or 90’s S10’s, and they just don’t die. They keep running. The 4.3L, though lacking in power, was a very dependable motor. And I say that as a diehard ford truck guy. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a cheap S10 or little blazer if I needed a beater. My grandma had one for 15 years, never needed a serious repair. Just a couple of electrical gremlins and stuff like that. My brother also had one for years, and barely maintained it, when he had no money, and it never gave him a problem. He drove it and it ran great until he totaled it.

      You ever have issues with the ABS brake system in your truck?? My 2006 Silverado in the past gave me grief and now 4 1/2 years later is yet again. The pump assemblies are notorious for having issues. And, of course, GM discontinued all the ABS parts except the wheel sensors. GM was the only place to buy new pump assemblies. These days, you can find remanufactured ABS computers, but nobody except junk yards used have the pump assembly.

      @LoriTobin-z8d No. But I did have to have the front end rebuilt recently. Tie rods and such, just wear items but the truck has 122,000 on it. You know general maintenance stuff. The a/c blower sensor has gone out a couple of times but that's a common issue with these trucks. It could use a paint job and I'd love a new one but man, their just too damn expensive anymore. Their trucks not luxury vehicles. Nothing better than a reliable vehicle that's paid for.

    Your fucking me? You put the little red express on the list. Yea, it’s sharp but it fell apart. Not a reliable truck.

    This is the biggest joke list I’ve ever seen. Have trucks listed with Dodge and V6 engines. Both horrible what a waste of my time

    If Toyota was allowed on this list, it would have robbed a few spots here. I don't think any ford trucks can be called reliable.
