Congrats on finally pronouncing Wales correctly! I wondered why on the previous video why Americans so frequently pronounce it that way. And you tried that big house name too, well done! Did you know that once you learn how to say the different Welsh letters like LL CH and F correctly, Welsh is quite easy to pronounce as it is almost totally phonetic!

@nevillemason 6791 And it was the same in 1826. From the American Audubon's journals, Manchester, September 1826: "I walked some four miles out of the town; the country is not so verdant, nor the country seats so clean-looking, as Green Bank for instance. The funnels raised from the manufactories to carry off the smoke appear in hundreds in every direction, and as you walk the street, the whirring sound of machinery is constantly in your ears. The changes in the weather are remarkable; at daylight it rained hard, at noon it was fair, this afternoon it rained again, at sunset was warm, and now looks like a severe frost."

If you want the animals to come to you then you need to learn Welsh. They left when they found out you didn't have any food. Watching those sheep being rounded up by the dog was an experience to remember. Watching them in competition, rounding, and corralling them is a must. Guys a really lovely trip you guys had! Loved the farm along with the scenery I do hope you visited the slate mine in the north of Wales which was the biggest open slate pit in the world during its time! The slate mined there was used all around the world for building materials including roof tiles etc. The mines even included their own minature railway to allow the slate mined to be transfered to the docks for shipping! The weather in Wales is rather wet and its well known for that along with the little sheep and that sheep dog was worth its weight in Gold! On a seperate note I am suprised some of the Lakenheath jets didn't pay you a visit as they use wales for training and Chris would probably know that! Thanks for sharing guys it was a great watch!
Thanks for sharing about the slate mines. Unfortunately, we did not make it to the mine. That sounds like a blast, though. The mining industry has always interested us. In the upper peninsula, it was a huge part of the upper peninsulas identity as America continued its expansion. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate the continued support. many years ago on bbc tv there was a competion called one man and his dog and the dogs had to move sheep around fields across roads and from pen to pen
Hiya. Just an observation (because it's ME, right?), but did you not see, at 10:08 , the sign on the gate that you went through of a picture of a dog with a red line through it, meaning 'NO DOGS'? And I'm pleased Chris took your dog away before you went into the field containing the sheep and goats. I would be on a sheep/dairy farm in Wales, pulling my weight, twice a year during my pre- and early teen years. Loved it. Stay safe. All the best to you.
We did see that sign, but that was at a different location. The one we had our dog with us was at the airbnb. The owner said we were more than welcome to bring them out there if we pleases. However, we wanted to interact with the animals, and that was why we brought our dog back. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.

We love the seeing places that are part of the between. We call them the "flyover states" and something we both love to experience in the US so of course we would like it here too. Cheers, Chris and Jess.
Another great video, thanks for sharing. I hear from Arkansas homesteading youtubers that is a movement starting in the USA to buy products from local companies and farmers and not rely on Chinese imports or other foreign imports. Its a great thing. Soon summer will be here and you could go to some agricultural shows which can be interesting. The biggest one in Europe is the Royal Welsh Show which is a 4 day event in July and it takes place in Builth Wells (you cannot take your dogs - only assistance dogs are allowed).
It used to be big and slowly faded to convenience. However, you are correct. Over the last years, it has grown dramatically in popularity, buying, and supporting local. We will check out as may shows as we can. Thanks for the tip and comment. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
When my daughter and son-in-law came to visit me in Aberystwyth last summer, we took a trip to Llanerchaeron. I can't walk far these days, so spent most of the time sitting on one of the seats which are generously supplied, such as the one by the front of the house. Looks like one of the sheep went to check you out for food, when there was none, the rest of the flock didn't bother.
Hopefully, you enjoyed your time with them. We were thinking the same thing about the food....or lack thereof. But we got to see some of them up close, at least. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
20mph is for all built-up areas not just for villages as stated on the video. The trees in the walled garden are old apple varieties. Aberaeron is a town, not a village as stated in the video. The seafront and harbour are going to have new sea defences during 2024 causing some disruption.
Yeah, it’s kind of sad that you won’t have time to explore all that Britain’s got to show. Maybe even sadder that a lot of us natives don’t appreciate what we’ve got.🥲
That is why we have focused most of our time seeing what we can on the island. Otherwise we would miss so much more. Thanks for watching ans commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris & Jess.
Try North Pembrokeshire, there is a curious divide in Walse, South Walians sometimes refer to North Walians as 'gogs', they speak a slightly different dialect of Welsh, and are considered unfriendly. Snowdon itself tends to disappoint, but there are many other peaks which are not tourist traps. Oddly, genetic studies of the North Welsh and South Welsh show a greater divergence than either of them do to the rest of Britain. A really old division.
That’s one serious generalisation you are going with to describe north walians as unfriendly 😂 think you are confusing it with the myth that Welsh speakers in the north only speak Welsh to annoy tourists

It is 50 years or so since I was in that part of Wales, but it is as lovely as ever!
They are on the road from Aberaeron to Aberystwyth
We were indeed. Cheers, Chris
Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Hi ALL, most country house's yoused to have a wall Gardner, when these house's where bilt that was a comen thing .Thay used to live of the land .Take care all and have a good time. 😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍🐶🐶
Thanks for the information. We appreciate you watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
many years ago on bbc tv there was a competion called one man and his dog and the dogs had to move sheep around fields across roads and from pen to pen
Cool, thanks for the insight. Appreciate your time watching and commenting. Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
Hi Guys Loving Your Vlogs ,This Has To Be The Most Adorable Though With The Goats How Cute Were They ,Love That Your Getting Out And About Exploring The Uk , Best Wishes To All The Family From A Scouser ❤
We are so glad you enjoyed the channel. Love the animals and experience all that the UK has to offer. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Did you get to North Wales? Snowdonia is lovely.
Unfortunately we didn't on this trip. We definitely have it on our list of must visits. Thank you for your recommendation. Have a lovely day. Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
Mega Kudos for going on a trip to places almost hidden to the wilder world. So many go to the usual N.Wales coast or Cardiff, ignoring all between
We love the seeing places that are part of the between.
Looks even better in the summer with leaves on the trees.
We have been told ans can only imagine. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Born in Aberaeron live in cardigan, great to see you visiting these places.
We had such a lovely time exploring. Thank you for watching. 🤍 Jess x
20mph is for all built-up areas not just for villages as stated on the video.
The trees in the walled garden are old apple varieties.
Aberaeron is a town, not a village as stated in the video. The seafront and harbour are going to have new sea defences during 2024 causing some disruption.
Definitely appreciate your wonderful insight! Thank you for your time watching and leaving us a lovely comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
Take a look at Northumberland. great video
Yeah, it’s kind of sad that you won’t have time to explore all that Britain’s got to show. Maybe even sadder that a lot of us natives don’t appreciate what we’ve got.🥲
We will look into that next time we head that way. Thanks for watching ans commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris & Jess.
Thanks for the recommendation. We will take that into consideration while we plan our next trip to Wales. Cheers, Chris and Jess.
That’s one serious generalisation you are going with to describe north walians as unfriendly 😂 think you are confusing it with the myth that Welsh speakers in the north only speak Welsh to annoy tourists
wow it's a beautiful area in your video.
We agree. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
I'm pleased you love Wales. How did you find driving on the left?
We are as well. Driving on the left took some getting used to, now when we move back we will have to get used to the right side. Cheers, Chris
@@DaydreamersBarn When you come to Wales next, make sure you visit Carreg Cennen Castle. Look it up, it's in an incredible location. Also, if you haven't been there already, visit Tenby
You certainly do know the difference, I’ll take that comment down, it was directed towards your followers from West Sussex, I jumped in on their comment about the goats before watching the whole of the video!
Loving all of your posts, great to see you really spreading your wings all over our country 🇺🇸🇬🇧🏴
We appreciate you and didn't take any offense. Thanks for the clarification, and we continue to enjoy what the country has to offer. Cheers 🍻 Chris & Jess.
saw my aunt and uncles old house there in Aberaeron havent been there many years ,come visit again if you can.
I'm glad we could bring you along and see. Ww will try to make it back for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
64 thousand dollar question, would you ever consider living here in the future because so many Americans are now choosing to live in the U.K. now ???
If we won the lottery, we would get a summer home here. Short of that, we plan on coming back to visit. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Best wishes come back in Spring/ summer some year and see it even better 😎
That is what we have been told. We will do our best. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
@@DaydreamersBarn Cheers 🍻 Bye 👋
The goats - we ran all the way over here for nothing 😂
More or less. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Chris and Jess.
'Aber-rhi-ron' you can Google the pronunciations although asking a local would be the safest bet😉🐑🏴
We prefer asking locals. More personable, but yes, google is a good go-to as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Hi Jess and Chris. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Wales. I have family who live much further North in Wales. Have you seen The Channel 9B4M The Family Adventures.. Another American Family that live on a small farm in the East Midlands and have sheep too. ( He has farmed in the States). They have lived here for about 3 years. They produce some great videos of UK,, Their trips, the country life and the agricultural shows they have visited. Take a look at their latest video about the Malvern Autumn show Much more than just agriculture. Thank you for some great videos i really enjoy them.
We have not seen them, but we are excited to check out their channel. Thanks for the tip. We will be sure to see it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Every days a school day!
I agree with that statement, friend! Thank you for watching and leaving us a comment. Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
The 20 mph is very unpopular and a lot will be going back to 30 mph.
We can understand both sides of the discussion. Cheers, Chris
Wales has a population of around 3,000,000 people and around 9,000,000 sheep.
And we love it. Cheers, Chris
It's a good job you film while driving. You never know what you might see on the road. 🐑🐑🐑🐕
Thank you so much for the support. We love driving and exploring. Also, being able to take you along is so fun. Hope you have a lovely day. Cheers 🤍 Jess & Chris x
Visit Britain in the summer it's much more palatable 😊
So we have been told. We plan on continuing traveling around Britian for a little while still. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
Afterwards, the animals will associate you guys with the "fox" so you've rather messed things up on that outing.
Thanks for the information. Jess x
I didn't know you had a dog with you.
If you're looking for wildlife, farm animals, etc., you won't get to see much if you have a dog with you.
Thanks for the information. We didn't take the dog in and weren't planning on it.... Jess x
I'm not Welsh but I did have a Welsh girlfriend years ago. Ll is pronounce "Cl" with a troat clearing sound. Put the tip of your tongue behind your front teeth and try flatten it out at the back, then kind of blow into your cheeks whilst saying "Cl".
Fantastic, thank you so much for sharing! Love learning from you all. It's so wonderful to be able to call the UK home for now. Hope you have a wonderful Friday! Thanks for watching and supporting our adventures! Cheers 🤍 Jess & family x
Welsh words:
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch -
St Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the Red Cave.
Cool, we will definitely try and check that out. We definitely appreciate your recommendation. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Cheers 🤍 Jess x
@@DaydreamersBarn Oh I never been...funny word tho...I'd take a look at Camarthen (castles and other stuff), Swansea and Gower bay, (Rhosilli beach, ranked worldwide, and the welsh coastal path) if you make it to that region.
Llareggub is the finest town in Wales, so memorably commemorated by the English language's finest 20th century poet! ;-)
N0 Food .they'll soon get fed up with Humans.
We enjoyed what we could with the animals. Thanks for watching ans commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.

We would love to see lambing season. Hopefully, we will be able to make it to a farm and see it. Good point on watching out for the Rams, though. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers 🍻 Chris and Jess.
