Also, that Fallen Leaves design is great, as I'm sure you've heard before. It sort of reminds me of how he is always described as smelling like nothing but rock and water, it brings that immaterial mystery into the visuals.

I know this is over a year old and nobody will ever see this but I just noticed how you actually make Squirrelflight, Leafpool, and even Brambleclaw look more aged because a lot of the time when I see the they look just as young as or sometimes even younger then the three I think it’s because a lot of people just forget how old they really are and it’s just nice seeing old Squirrelflight or as I like to call her (aka I just came up with this name) Oldflight

Even if Ashkit had been one of the kits stolen, kittens are literally born blind and deaf. I'm sceptical he would even remember the experience, or would have survived very long without his mother to nurse him. I highly doubt ShadowClan tortured the captured kits, Cinderkit and Brackenkit were completely unharmed when they were rescued. There is no evidence Dustpelt didn't pay attention to Ashpaw, and him caring about Fernpaw does not imply that. That is total headcanon on your part. Yes, the death of his mother likely scarred him. But let's put this to a real life example. Most murderers in reality come from difficult upbringing. Does that mean they get to be excused for hurting other people? Does being a victim of trauma seriously give you a pass to inflict trauma on other people?
