Lorry didnt lie. She was pretty open about the fact that she could be wrong. She never officially accused her of surgery, just said she most likely have had surgery.

Actually, in the comments Lorry said that she never posts these videos unless she's sure that what she is saying is a fact and calls on outside researchers as well. She says "allegedly" to protect herself

Honestly, the way Doja Cat handled the whole situation is just dumb. Yeah, I understand how she’d be upset but regardless, both these ladies are adults. With or without fans, famous or not, seeing someone beating on someone else over an opinion is just annoying. It’s really shouldn’t have been made into such a big deal. As stated in the video, it could’ve all been diluted into a minute explanation. “No, I have not had surgery”. People will always give their opinion. It doesn’t just happen online. Just learn to ignore it. Specially if it’s not true.

In fact she makes sure to compliment people all the time in her videos, in the "befores" and the "afters", she always says they're beautiful no matter what and its just her opinion. She just states her opinion. If doja doesn't want people looking at her face then why is she getting on these lives.

I dont understand the fact that people act ashamed that they got surgery (not saying she did). Sometimes it's a clear and obvious sign when people are starting to look the same. Its not a ugly look.. just own it and don't claim to be natural. Tbh nobody cares until you lie about it.

You see not MANY people care now - but there was, and still is, a LOT of people who stigmatized plastic surgery. People who call it "lying", people who will mock the insecurities that the person used to have, people who will tear others down claiming they don't deserve what they have because they "bought their pretty face/body" or call them lazy for not getting their goals through "hard work". Some of it is being a dick, others stem from insecurity, but there was and still is a lot of "hush hush" around plastic surgery. It is DEFINITELY more acceptable today than it was say 20 years ago. But 20 years ago was just the 2000s, the people that stigmatized it then are still alive today and spreading their views to the newer generation.
Saying "no one cares until you lie" is all well and good if you intend to ignore the literal millions of comments out on the internet even within the last year shaming men and women alike for using plastic surgery regardless of whether or not it was to "fix" an insecurity, or just because they wanted that look. I mean hell, I'm no charlie fan (or was it Dixie?? One of the two) but I remember how many people were blasting her for getting a nose job despite her claiming countless times that it was for health reasons. They wanted, and did, bash her for getting a nose job despite her not hiding the fact that she did. They turned it into a vanity problem rather than what she was open about. It couldn't JUST be the truth, it had to be something worth hating. And apparently what was worth hating was if she had the audacity to say I want a different nose. According to her that wasn't the case but the internet still ran to bully her over it as if it was.
This is to say, that while yes those in a position of influence should be mindful to not make their audience feel as though there is something wrong with them for not being able to naturally achieve the same results- it's also messed up to expect people, celebrity or otherwise, to be completely open 24/7 about things that are personal to them such as plastic surgery. If I got a boob job and the first thing a hundred people asked me was if my "tits were real" I'd be uncomfortable and hurt too- I personally don't give a fluff about plastic surgery so it's not a matter of me being embarrassed by it but simply not wanting to tell literal strangers why I chose to get one hypothetically - especially knowing that some might accept my reason and others will scrutinize it. I just felt like it will work for some, and others will mock me to hell and back. And I'm not a celebrity! I have no influence. Now imagine I'm on some sort of pedestal for millions to see and criticize - that's a LOT to ask of someone who at the end of the day is still just a human being like you and I. I don't blame any celebrity for not being the first to dive into the cesspool that is the internet without a life jacket. When you open yourself up to criticism you open yourself up to hatred. It's just a LOT.

I just knew the existence of the video after lorry wrote a comment (or I don't know how it's called) in which it said she deleted the video about some celebrity to avoid conflicts. Then i read people's responses to that and they said it was doja and now I am here. Literally doja made people watch it hahahahha

A lot of people think Doja’s reaction was justified, but I don’t. Lorry was respectful in her video and never bashed Doja in her video, her videos are meant to inform and that’s what she did 🤷🏻♀️ Lorry also states it’s merely an observation, she never said Doja DID get the surgeries. Doja cat bashing a TH-camr is just pathetic and laughable, I’m glad I never listened to her music, her true personality really showed in her live.

I can tell a lot of people don’t watch Lori hills videos that commented on this. Lori made a community post that she took down the video but she had herd that Doja cat wasn’t happy with it and that was never her intention to make anyone feel bad.
She talks about her surgeries and even has the all recorded on her channel. She also works extremely hard on her channel and doesn’t just look at “a few photos”. She asks professional opinions and a lot more to make a video. I really hope lori is ok after watching that live cause I’m sure she did..

Doja cat is a good example of what happens when you give a platform to Tiktokers to grow into the mainstream. Doja has always been shady fake and mean AF . I actually like Doja. This is not the way to go. The lady even had stated that her opinions are her speculation based off her knowledge and not fact. It's like those body language reading channels. People's body language can be not as readable when considering different types of mental illness or trauma. I even felt my own second hand embarrassment and I don't want to be drunk on livestream again after seeing this. 😅

And yes she is justified to be mad, but it's a reach to go on a 40 minute drunken rant on a public forum simply because she's mad at a TH-cam who openly admits in the very same video that most of her claims are speculative, I not outright, then in the language she uses.
I can imagine the intended purpose was perception for conversation. So more people are comfortable with this conversation due to radical stigma. I would not be mad if someone said this kind of stuff about me. I would be flattered my face looks expensive when in fact maybe I spent $900 in my life on fillers. Or nothing at all. I would just openly state what the facts are from my perception. I don't take offense or get mad at cosmetic surgery claims. I don't have hate for cosmetic surgery or procedures. I think they are fascinating and an interesting art form. As is being natural. To each their own. There is no shame in being in love with body modification. We are in 2022. We can basically be alien looking humans with no belly buttons or nipples if we want. I think because body modification is an art it can easily fall in lines with a subjective based discussion. Not everyone likes to talk art with some people depending on how radical their tastes are vs another. Just like subjective bias conversation about fashion, video games etc.

I understand being mad at having someone suspecting you having surgery, but Doja's reaction shows that it hit a nerve.
The reaction strikes me as someone who's got unaddressed body image issues.
Imagine being a female celebrity and constantly having to hear bout your body and if it’s real or not. It can wear anyone down, even if they are happy with their body image.

I do believe Doja has had the work done. I think the reason Laurie took the video down was because her intention wasn't to hurt Doja's feelings. When you see that something you have said or done is actively hurting another person, taking down the video is the right thing to do.

People shouldn't be openly speculating on what work someone has, experience or not.
People sitting there making these kinds of speculations remove the autonomy of the person they're speculating on, it adds pressure for people who have had work done to talk about whether they have or hadn't and areas where they might be self conscious or have dysmorphic views. Plus, it's not anyones business what cosmetic procedures someone else has done to THEIR OWN BODY, and it's up to the person who has had the work on whether they want to talk about it.
The back end of the industry pushing back on 'false beauty standards' is a very toxic and outdated approach to it. Inviading someones autonomy and right to conversate about their own body in ANY CAPACITY is gross, and the fact someone sits there and profits off of this contributes to that.
I'm also speaking as someone with exeprience: a fucking Psych. I see young women dealing with confidence and autonomy issues daily, and it's not because they think a celebrity has had work done, I can tell you that

Lorry’s videos actually helped me a lot with my body dysmorphia and thinking that so many things are wrong with me. I wasn’t aware of the statistics and scale of cosmetic and plastic procedures before or even their existence lol

As someone whose watches Lorry for a couple of years; Lorry doesn’t shame plastic surgery in her videos she speaks positively about plastic surgery and her own surgeries in the past. Even some of her videos show how the celebrity has had little to no work for Zendaya she finds little to no work down in her opinion. I can’t imagine the pressures of being in the spotlight but Dojo Cat needs to learn how to let that shit go man
The best argument I’ve heard is “truth doesn’t mind being challenged” and judging by Dojas response I’d say this applies here
Lots of things going on. First, doja was waaaay too upset to convince me she didn't get even a little work down. Secondly, Lori has stated so many times in her video it's possible these people haven't had worked done, its just HER opinion. Thirdly, Lori actually has had work done and she is very open and has done a lot of videos speaking of her own procedures and even gives advise on when you should and shouldn't get procedures from HER experience. And lastly, her videos to me are more uplifting than they are tearing down like doja tries to explain.
I don't think that Lorry did anything wrong. Lorry stated that it was an opinion and that she could be wrong. If she were to say, "She definitely had plastic surgery", that'd be extremely rude.
Does Doja have the right to be insulted? of course, she does! but Doja should know that if she has anything to say, she should say it in private before anything else. Lorry's "Series" is more educational than giving the model used flack. She's trying to let insecure people know that they shouldn't compare themselves to super-models, that you shouldn't feel pressured to pay for surgery to look better.
I get why she is upset, I am also a half-black woman and I get accused frequently of getting plastic surgery it is insulting. Especially since when I do lose weight my eyelids aren't as puffy, my face changes a lot and I have super high cheekbones. when I gain weight my cheekbones are super chubby.
I understand where she's coming from. it is fairly annoying and insulting when people say that it isn't possible to be naturally this pretty and a lot of WOC get this a lot.
I do understand that people do get surgeries to improve themselves, unless you have solid proof you shouldn't bring it up to people. I'm sure there's a way to check for receipts other than pictures because when I was in 2013, I look significantly different. People coming for someone about their look and claiming it's surgery is really insulting.

Dojas brand is having a natural body and being proud of it many of her lyrics focuses on that. Her life has changed drastically so its not surprising to see her body has changed as well, shes constantly working out/ choreographing to music, her makeup skills has drastically improved

I watch Lorry Hill's channel occasionally. She is very kind and respectful when discussing procedures she THINKS celebrities MIGHT have had. Lorry is very clear that she is stating her opinion, she isn't shaming anyone for maybe having cosmetic surgery, and she will compliment people's natural beauty features.
Of course it's Doja Cat's right to object to the video, and as soon as Lorry heard that she was unhappy she removed the video. Doja's response was OTT, and hypocritical because she mocked Lorry's appearance. Imho Doja wouldn't have got so pressed if she didn't feel called out. A woman once asked me if I'd had a boob job; I laughed it off, said no and took it as a compliment!

I see both sides, I see Laurie wanting to spread awareness that what you see online might not be the reality. Just like how magazine covers are photoshopped. The perception we have growing up is centered around what absorb from the media, from tv stars, to magazines, to tik tok. Seeing a youthful, thin, and beautiful woman, than looking at yourself can be disheartening.
Whereas, I can see the harm in dissecting someones face and body to show what they've done to make themselves feel better in their own skin. I think Doja has her own points, but she handled it terribly. I think Laurie has her own points too, she's doing an important job showing people that looks can sometimes be deceiving. But I can see how it would be upsetting.

The fact that Doja Cat, a MAINSTREAM artist, is going above and beyond to literally attack a creator both as a person and as a professional, is just sad really. It is within every right of Doja to object to the allegations but with the way she did she just lost it. FYI for those that don’t wear wigs regularly:
If you wear full lace wigs and it’s secured to your head with wig glue, it can sometimes give you a “mini face-lift.”
There are drawstring and combs sewn into the back of wigs so it can be secured fully it to your head so it won’t fly off, and then because it’s tightly secured, when you glue it down to your head in the front, it can pull all of your skin back. In turn, your eyes look somewhat more “slanted” and your face slimmer.
Combine that with the way Doja does her makeup now (high contouring of her cheekbones and nose, cat-eye makeup, etc.) and the fact that she lost so much weight, it can give the appearance that she might have gotten something done.
If you watch Doja’s lives when she’s not really wearing makeup or on the rare chance she’s not wearing her wig, her face is exactly the same when she first entered the spotlight in 2017-2018.
And even if she did get work done, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s no one’s business and the way this video was made was a bit shady

I'm SO tired of hearing celebs say, "I support cosmetic surgery, it's just not for me." Lorry clearly hit a nerve with her video 😆
I think the problem is that people forget celebrities are people too, and of course by being celebrities they put themselves into i the spotlight but that doesn’t mean they deserve to be scrutinized constantly. Doja has probably heard a lot about people speculating her getting cosmetic surgeries and is fed up with it. There’s nothing wrong with cosmetic surgery but there’s definitely a huge stigma around it for celebrity women especially, so although her reaction was a bit overzealous I do think theres some justification to it especially since doja is a role model for a lot of people so she’s constantly being picked at and judged for her appearance. Her experiences are probably too esoteric for normal people like most of us in the comments to call her out for overreacting and i dont think we should equate being asked once or twice if we’ve gotten a face lift or breast augmentations to the thousands of comments she must get daily about it.

If watched Lori’s videos before. She is very open about her surgeries. She’s not nasty or malicious. Women who are not confident about their bodies can be trying to achieve the body of a woman who couldn’t achieve their body without cosmetic surgery.
The irony of Doja calling Lorry ill mannered when she was cussing her out, calling her names, attacking her looks and character. 🤦 All while Lorry stated that the video was speculation, not fact and spent the majority of the video complimenting her, calling her beautiful and talented. Doja cat has recently lost a bit of weight and since then people have made comments on her body either looking better or worse than when she was thicker. Doja cat specifies that her body type is a huge part of her success because she represents natural bodies. I don't think she's had cosmetic surgery (other than her veneers which she was very public about) you'd be amazed what weight loss, lifestyle change and makeup can make you look like a different person.

Maybe I look different because I lost weight, I'm older, my make up skills improved. I worked for a plastic surgeon. Doja hasn't had any invasive surgery done that I can tell. She is likely getting Botox ( she can't furrow her brow) and had some skin treatments. That's it. The lady making all these speculations is shady af in how she evidences her video. The risk of not being able to completely shut the eyelids is too high. The only reason they might do it is if the patient has severe hooded eyelids and in that case it's more therapeutic than for cosmetic reasons. I don't who Gabi Demartino.

Honestly her reaction just screams that she hiding the truth and covering up any work she's had. But who cares if someone has had plastic surgery, especially when it comes to celebrities. Pretty much all celebrities at this point has had some kinda surgery, even if it's as simple a getting filler, lip ejections, veneers, or even a boob job. That's part of celebrities job, trying to look their best even if they get a little work done here and there. Honestly I think it's better for her to be honest with ppl if she's had any work done. Cuz either way if she's all natural or not, ppl are gunna get surgery if they wanna look like her. Might as well just be known for being honest to ur fanbase.
Doja didn't have any surgery imo, my dad is a plastic surgeon so ive seen a lot of before/during/after and had the run down of how different procedures work, as I was watching Lorry's video here I could easily tell the differences she was comparing between were either a change in weight, lighting, makeup, or angle. The 2 comparisons that I couldn't immediately tell were wrong were the breast reduction and the nose job. But after other pictures closer to the nose job before picture it looks more like the picture was just a bad picture, you can see her makeup on her eyes isn't the best either and thats alright. The breast reduction was pretty easily debunked with the top Doja is wearing on her live when she gets up.

A lot of the photos she used to compare before and after's had years between them, any person's face would slightly change between a few years. Makeup, lighting, filters, and skincare have improved so much over the last few years that is it possible for someone to appear different. Gua Sha before and after pictures are crazy as well and if someone didn't know any better they would probably assume they got work done. Weight loss and weight gain can heavily impact how someone looks overall. I don't think educating an audience on plastic surgery is bad by any means but when talking about bodies, especially women's bodies, there's a way to go about it respectfully and truthfully without harmful speculation. How plastic surgery effects women's self esteem specifically is a topic that needs more discussion, but the discussion shouldn't be who has "maybe" had it or "maybe" not because that just leads to discourse. I don't think Lorry was necessarily in the wrong, she definitely didn't need to be dragged like that, but I can see how Doja was upset. I wouldn't want a stranger to make an entire video speculating on my body either.

Although Lori never says the HAVE had something done. That’s the whole point it’s speculation. Lori is a sweetheart I’ve communicated with her many times she is not malicious and she has never said anyone has definitely had any work done. She does extensive research for every video and is extremely respectful and does take into full account things like ageing and weight change.

Doja has been honest about a lot of weird things, so I dont believe she would lie about a personal body choice on the things that girl is claiming. It is clear that Doja lost a lot of weight. She didn’t get surgery to lose weight. When you get surgery to take fat off, individuals look lopsided and uneven all over. But she seems thin all over. And losing weight like Doja changes your whole face and body. On the other hand, you can tell that youtuber got surgery, that is clear as day without needing to see any before pictures of her, while Doja’s isn’t.

Doja is 26, meaning about 4 years ago she fully grew into her face. And within the past year, year and a half, she changed her diet, probably got a PT, and lost weight, especially body fat... Only thing I can believe she might've gotten is a rhinoplasty and veneers or inside braces.
Why? Well if I look at pictures of me 2.5 years ago, age 19 and 8kg heavier with 4% more body fat... My eyes are more hooded, my nose bridge wider, my jawline less pronounced and my under eyes more sunken (insomnia).

People are defending the youtuber but I have to say I’m unsure how generally respectful it is to speculate any possible cosmetic work someone you don’t know has done any, celebrity or not. If it was really about educating younger people, I feel it would be more beneficial and respectful to do videos of how to identify cosmetic surgery on people confirmed/admitted to have had surgeries. I think if someone speculated something like that about me on a public platform, whether or not I did it, I would be upset as well. Doja did go off the rails with insults, but she does make a good point about how you can’t just base these things and possibly spread rumors off circumstantial photo evidence. If the youtuber is wrong about any of those things, people go from this video forever believing Doja may have done some or all of this work, but even if she is right, you’re outing procedures that should be Doja’s to reveal, it’s like really personal stuff. To make this video in the first place feels weird overall in terms of being respectful so I get why Doja got angry. People say celebrities are fair game for all kinds of disrespect for being a public figure, but there needs to be a line somewhere.
