I just wanted to give you a big thank you. Iv had this same little machine in my loft for years. Tried it once had no clue what I was doing. I'm 58 years young and u think by now I would no how to use a sewing machine. Ask me to hang wall paper I'm on it lol. So I keep seeing these on amazon and ebay and got mine out of the loft. It looks brand new box a bit dusty lol. I remember I just had no clue how to do the bobin, was at it all night when I first got it. Put it back in the box. Only to see the light of day 15 years later. I spent about 10 15 pound on it then. Its identical to yours. So u have shown me at last how do do the bobin. I'm so proud of myself😂🤣😂 I haven't done any sewing and want to learn more about the needles and stuff and that plastic bit I don't have that. I have a needle and I no its not been used but I would prefer to no how to do these things before I get started on the sewing. Then if I mess up I no what's hat on the machine. I don't have the booklet it came with and the electricity part it says on the box order separately. So just batteries for now. If I can master the mechanical side of a sewing machine then I will feel safer starting something if I mess up. I'm quite proud of myself .you have showed me how to wind the bobin how to set that all up bring the cotton through and change a needle if necessary. You are a great teacher. Kids will catch on quick to your teaching was . I should if payed more attention in sewing class, I regret it now. Poor lady she was really clever looking back now. Iv been checking out the brother LM-2421 it's not the best but its a step in the right direction. Secondhand. That's all I can afford. Many thanks for all your help . You sound such a lovely calm teacher. ☺ I shall keep watching you. You have made me at 58 feel proud of myself. It means so much to me. ❤
OHHH MYYYYY GOSSSSSHHH.... thank you so much for your video's on how to use this Portable Mini Sewing Machine FHSM 505 - NEX Sewing Machine... you are awesome... I would have been dooooomed from day 1 without your help & advice on the video's... I'm new to a sewing machine... only tried one once at school & then once again about 5 years ago & couldn't get on with it.. but I am loving my new lil baby lol I am definitely hooked now (no pun intended lol) thank you again.... take care & stay safe xXx
I just decided to purchase this machine from Amazon. It arrived today. I haven't used a sewing machine in over 40 years. Thank you for the detailed information. Looking for more of your videos.
Guys, if the thread gets a massive build up on the underside of the material, it could just be that the tension level is not compatible with the stitching mode. I fixed it just by switching the tension mode's level 😀
Can you elaborate on the tension mode? Where is this, what's the best setting or purpose of each mode? I'm a total beginner and I really appreciate if you can share some knowledge
I'm super late to the party, sorry. I have this little wonder! I'm an old woman so this is easy to set up where ever I want, etc. I will make *ONE* suggestion, though. Buy *QUALITY* thread and only use metal spools. The plastic ones are too light for the tension and creates a clusterf*ck like you've never seen. Good quality thread just gives you a better result. I've altered curtains with this little beauty! Made new duvet covers for everyone in my family. Be patient it's a great little machine.
thank you so much for the video, however, i silly-ly dropped the needle holder screws when loosing the needle, and now the needle is stuck when i try to run it. you would not have macro picture of how the screws should be installed? i noticed there is this small screw inside the holder... thanks again in advance!

Not really making a buttonhole was really cool but to show the machine true capability you need to make a repair on something shirt pair of pants or even make a bean bag
Hi, if you’ve found the answers, would you share the link? It seems like I have to buy $13 5mm tri head screwdriver to open the machine. Can I lubricate it without opening the left cover of the machine? Thanks!
What is the technique in fixing the stitch. I don't know how to use the upper thread tension dial. Teach us for what fabric and how thin or thick can be used.
Would like to know about some of the feet with my machine that don't have any kind of indication as to what they are for. Thank you for showing the trick with the buttonhole. I have other machines that I will probably u se for that function. I'm not all that crazy about the look of this one when finished. I was thinking of doing it again on the sides to make them look more solid. What do you think?.
I have the FHSM-505. For some reason the thread gets a massive build up on the underside of the material. It takes some doing to get it loose from the machine. It probably would not be so bad if I turned off the machine quicker. I have tried two different spools three different needles and a variety of tension settings . What else might I try???
Do you still have that same machine? Was the problem solved? and do you recommend it. I'm planning to buy my first machine and I don't know if this is a good option. I saw many comments about the needle being broken after few stitches.
I unscrewed mine stupidly as it was all threaded up and now I can't get the bobbin case back in the right way so I can't get the plate back down 🥲 I think I've completely messed the machine up
How am I supposed to loseen the needle bar screw, mine is really hard to move or lose it, i cant lose it with habds is there another way to loseen it up? so I can take out the needle and replace it with a new one
I have watched this video a couple of time, very informative. I do have one question about the bobbin. You video shows you putting it in with the thread to the left. The instructions show putting it in with the thread on the right. Which way is the proper way to install the bobbin. AJ

Try checking the tension dial. Make sure it is on number 4. Also, have the stitch selection on number 1. When you are ready to sew, use the hand wheel to do 2 manual stitches first. This will stop the thread from coming out of the needle when you start sewing. Mine does this sometimes. Give these things a try and then let me know how it goes.

I have a question please. I have this machine but my bobbin threading keeping balling up on the back of my material. It will sew 2 or 3 stitches and then stop because of the balling up of string on the back of the material. I thought maybe it was the tension on the bobbin thread but I do not see a way to adjust the bobbin tension. Have you had this issue with your machine? Thank you for your videos. They have helped me and I appreciate you!
I had this problem as well. This is called a "birds nest". I did a TH-cam search and learned how to avoid this from happening. Basically you must be sure that your presser foot is in the UP position when threading the machine. If it's down the tension discs will close and the thread is unable to pass between them. Simple as that! Give it a try.
what foot pedal supports this machine? The foot that came with this machine really sucks. I need a foot pedal that doesn't break and has pressure sensitivity (for sewing curves)
I have a question, I can't find out how to use color threads and I can't find small top bobbins anyhow even in black and white, so how to change the color of the thread?
Just bought this machine but has no numbers for measuring on the needle plate, just lines. What are the measurements so I can write on it or can I replace it with one that has the measurements
Hi thanks so much for the tutorial 😊 The problem is my thread is coming out of the needle everytime I am starting the machine .....please someone help me
I don't know much but it sounds like the upper thread tension. It is adjusted by the vertical pink wheel towards the middle front. Should be a simple fix, just turn it and try on a scrap until it feeds correctly.
Hi, I unscrewed the plate to get to my bobbin case as my thread was sooo jammed but now I can't get the case back in the correct way and there's no diagrams anywhere to see if I'm putting it back correctly. Now I can't get the plate back on 😭😭😱. I think the black bobbin case is wrong anyway as the top thread keeps getting caught in the bobbin case

What kind of snap on presser foot ARM do I need to buy? Every one I look at on Amazon says "NOT FOR MINI SEWING MACHINES" . I Need the actual presser food holder arm. I have the feet themselves but I lost my arm or holder whatever it's called.
