Doveton cafe is the oldest hotel in Purasai. Adjacent to Ritherton road. We lost Roxy Theatre there where now Sarava store is now. Doveton cafe still surviving.

I'm from Vepery. In the early seventies I used to eat every week. Two Idly Sambar was twenty-five paise. Whenever I'm in Chennai, I don't miss Doveton cafe and Welcome hotel.
Nostalgic memories with Doveton cafe in mid 70s to late 80s. Thanks for covering this cafe.
In the same road there is welcome hotel. It's better than this. When I come to Chennai I always visit that eatery 😋. But cutlet in the evening on alternate days in doveton is very delicious

Just notice the difference of how you eat with your hand and spoon. When eating with spoon, you are not throwing food into your mouth like how you do when you eat with your hand.
We watch your videos daily and love your family. Not sure why Geetha madam and Rishi are not being shown in the videos like how it used to be.

3 days ago i went inside to eat...but after seeing the the waiter using Tabs to collect the menu ,i decided to came out, thinking it would be costly hotel...and rightly so after seeing the price 2 idly and 1 vadai yielding rs.77 for normal dinning ...16 years back i have eaten in that hotel !!!

It was an enjoyable review of Doveton Cafe in Chennai. Every item you ordered was superb you said, that is a good testimonial for this 50+ years old restaurant. Even at the fag end of morning session you got the idli, dosa,vada and parotta, good.

Best then annaporna coimbatore. Iam living in Coimbatore. I tried aruvi restaurant last year when i went to Chennai. Service is also good. Definitely must try when you go there
