Today I got into fly tying, this is the first fly I have learned to tie, and I ended up spending three and a half hours tying these. so thank you for the tutorial.
Can’t tell you how stoked we are to hear it!!! Appreciate you letting us know. 😎🤙🏽 Keep ‘em coming and be sure to send some pics out way. Send to livereellife@venturesflyco.com
Excellent tutorial. I like the up-front list of items you will need. Maybe a little more info on example on hook to use. I caught a 22" Rainbow on a size 20 Zebra I tied this year. Great pattern.
Great. Thanks for the feedback. I try to keep the hooks and bead pretty general because everyone has their own preferences. But for this one I used a Tiemco 2488 curved nymph hook. 😎🤙🏽
I love the podcast and found this channel. I tied this fly on Saturday and caught the first fish on Flies I tied on Sunday. Awesome video. Love the material list, makes it easy.
Awesome! Glad you’re enjoying the podcast and videos. Stoked to hear that you’re catching fish on flies you’ve tied. Impressive! Keep up the good work. 💪🏽
Nice tutorial. I like the way you list the materials, including pictures. So many people just wave the material in front of the camera and your lucky to get much more than a blur. Bill Dodson Troy, Montana
Really love the tutorials but one suggestion. How about a really basic tutorial about tying, the basic equipment, what a whip finish is, how you use a bobbin?
Hey David. We’ve got a complete tying kit (vise, tools, and materials) coming out in January! We’ve been working on it all year. Should be pretty awesome, superb quality, and exactly what you’re looking for. 😎🤙🏽 So if you can be patient, watch for it next month.
Hey! Great question. This is used to mimic midges living under water before they hatch into adults. You will find them in most, if not all trout streams. It’s a simple but super effective pattern!
@@venturesflyco The state offers many fishing courses and they have a beginning fly tying course at the end of next month which I am signed up for, a full day...and an intermediate a week later. I ordered the stuff for this midge, I would assume it works well for many things, if not, I have the materials for others. Also I am a member of Project Healing Waters, a program for disabled Veterans. They have monthly fly tying meetings. They will also supply me with the equipment for fly tying on my own...a very good program. Thanks for the quick response.
Sorry about that. Not sure why they aren’t working. You can check out the materials at this url: venturesflyco.com/collections/bakers-dozen-tying-packs/products/zebra-midge-black-bakers-dozen-tying-pack

Have you made a video on how to tie a salmon egg fly? That would be really helpful.
Will salmon swimming up the river to spawn hit this? If not, do you have any suggestions as to what they might hit? Thanks! Awesome videos!
If you're fishing deeper waters then I recommend instead of using silver wire use lead free wire
Cool camera work man! #flies
Thank you.

Agreed. We tried to do that with this video. Talks about the bobbin and whip finisher. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/RRWQn4HIhE0/w-d-xo.html

Where do I get the toothed tweezers
They come inside of our All-rounder tool kit. You can find them on our website.
What size of wire in mm
The links in the description are not working. I'd like to purchase these items.

Found a zebra midge tied with red holographic tinsel at a local fly shop. It’s catches them.
