    Thank you for this information. I loved seeing them side by side like this. I’ve had walkers low in a previous zone 5 garden and I’m starting over again in a zone 8b I’m going to try the cat’s pajamas I like how tidy it is.

      That is a great selection and our most popular. It has a great habit.

    Thank you so much for this information. I have several nepata and not sure the variety but they bloomed beautifully and the blooms last a long time . Unfortunately my variety does crack in the middle and I pulled it out of the garden because it was unsightly . Loved the plant and thankfully you introduced PW line which doesn’t crack . Will be planting those in its place

    Great comparisons! Thank you. Will they bloom till frost if sheared back? Or would you expect just one repeat bloom? Thanks again❤

      thank you for subbing. We have a ton of videos out there and many will feature plant that attract bees. I really dont have any that are specific to that topic though.

    Love Walkers low since it most resembles lavender in the garden. I plant mine in the back of my garden and they are so lovely and will have a second bloom after cutting back in the beginning of July in zone 5b. It takes about 3 weeks to bloom again but be patient and you will have flowers into fall.

    This was so helpful, Heidi! How blue is the Purrsian Blue compared to the color on the Cat’s Pajamas? How do they look when they are not flowering, and how do they look during winter?

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They get trimmed back for the winter so they really dont look like much. If you are in a warmer state they may flower in the winter. Cat's Pj's is a small more compact plant. Color is very similar i think.

  • @ytubechannel997
    @ytubechannel997 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Which variety would you say provides the most color when in full bloom?

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am going to sat Cats PJ or Cats Meow, I also say these because they have the best habit. Walkers Low is a much bugger plant so it will have more blooms but when it splits open it doesn't have a great habit.

    So is catmint the same as catnip? We have some catnip that multiplies everywhere and doesn't form one plant, but a million, just like mint. Are these different in that way?

    What's your experience with the "Kitten around" variety? Does it split in the middle?

      The flowers are similar although do have some differences such as slight coloration and flower size.

    Great video about the different NEPETAS, but the way you say it, has me laughing. I've never heard anyone say it that way.

    Have heard a lot of negative reviews of cat's pajamas, that it doesn't come back and declines into a sickly plant. Of course there may be reasons for that, but one reviewer had many plants & all were doing the same thing, as were other reviewers' plants. These are popular companion plants for roses, so I wonder if too much water & fertilizer in rich soil is the culprit. I just received 4 very unhappy little plants in the mail & once they recover---no fertilizer & little water. We'll see.

    • @gardencrossings
      @gardencrossings  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have not heard any bad reviews on it. We have carried it for about 4-5 years now. Always a top seller.

    • @rnguyen2516
      @rnguyen2516 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have Cat’s Pajamas and Walker’s Low, and I’m super happy with Cat’s Pajamas! It is tight and compact and blooms heavily and comes back after shearing. Walker’s Low is very underwhelming in my landscape in Texas 8B. I don’t think they like too much water. The Walker’s Low plants closest to my turf sprinklers are struggling. But when I shear, I’ll do it in stages. First in the center circle, then stagger to the outer circle (so the center comes back while the outer area fades and vice versa).

    Just picked up 3 'walker's low' plants. Tag says:
    Plant Height: 12 inches
    Flower Height: 16 inches
    Spread: 12 inches
    What gives?

    • @gardencrossings

    You didn't discuss the difference in flowering.

    • @gardencrossings

      No, more just habit and heights, and you can see some are flowering before others.
