    This same vid but with Bauer sticks like the ag5nt,sync and hyper lite would be awesome since they don’t do supreme anymore. Would be interesting to see how the mid kick does against the standard vapor and the advanced vapor

      That is if your only metric is shot speed. A lot of people get a better release with their shots given a different kick point. I personally have a better shot with a supreme than a nexus ( better release and more contol) I think that If you tried all the sticks you would find one you prefer, especially if you left the radar gun out of it

    Id really like it if you guys did a vid describing how the different kickpoints feel in comparison to each other. This would be a great help to those who haven't gone through an arsenal of hockey sticks and figured out how each kick point feels and what they like best. As someone who's likely going to be looking at new sticks for the next season, Id really like to be able to figure out if I want to try a new kickpoint, or stick with what I've been using.

    If I could give this video two thumbs up, I would. Great to see a comparison of the sticks by category of the three different shot types. Moreover, adding the radar gun to it just makes the video so much better. I still value Tommy's opinion, but it is nice to get a scientific read out. The biggest takeaway I got from this video is that the sticks perform pretty much within range of each other. All else being equal, you might eke out a couple mph depending on stick and shot type. But overall, it's not like the ASV Pro is blowing the Trigger 7 out of the water in terms of slap shots. I look forward to seeing you guys do the same test on Bauer and maybe Sherwood sticks. What would be really great is if you can do a comparison between the budget friendly sticks vs the higher end sticks. I want to know how much double to triple the price is buying me!
    Don't know if you are planning to do this, but it would be wonderful to see a comparison video between the sticks for stick handling. After watching so many stick reviews from various TH-camrs, stick handling seems like an afterthought in many of them. Maybe Tommy can go through a simple obstacle course and rank the sticks by puck feel, control, passing, pass receiving, sauce passing etc.
    In any case, great job on the video. Keep it up!

    I like the idea of the video concept however, I am not entirely confident in the results. The radar gun being used is known to produce unreliable data. A buddy of mine tested it and similar results to what you found were witnessed however, when testing using a bushnell radar the results were vastly different. ~15 mph difference between clappers and wristers.
    Again I really like the concept of the video however, I’m a bit concerned that the results don’t reflect ground truth.

    • @AlanenJ
      @AlanenJ ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It wouldn't be since that radar gun is basically trash, you could see it from the fact that the closer the shot was to the radar the harder it counted, they should get a proper radar like the bushnell or pocket radar.

    • @mhicaoidh1
      @mhicaoidh1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AlanenJ that's unfortunately true of most consumer-available radar guns. Depending on how the gun is designed, one object coming at "angle A" will read differently than another object coming at "angle B" ... even though they are traveling at the same speed.
      Other than insuring that every puck moves relative to the radar position the same way on each shot ... the only other way to mitigate that is by averaging the shots (with the assumption that over the course of the shots the same variances of angles will be recorded).
      Of course ... the over all point is that 5 shots taking the highest reading is a poor test.

    So as fun as this vid is.. it’s a flawed test. There are so many of the test parameters have too many variables. Not to mention that the radar that they are using really is not a reliable radar and the fluctuation point between readings are crazy. Also by soli using the highest speed clocked instead of a accumulation of all five shots, removing the highest and lowest numbers and finding the accurate average speed. Would be a better way to run this test … also blacking out the stick so there is no category biased and also maintaining a designated shot point would further more add real value to this type of testing ..but with all that bull shit being said … great video boys loads of fun …

  • @andersborum9267

    Can't trust the radar as it often registers the actual swing speed of the stick as opposed to the puck. I've got one and it's easy to fool it just by swinging your stick (i.e. without hitting a puck).
