I know a lot of people are upset about the blackface clip and tbh, I'm also pissed that it was used but please don't direct your anger towards Kikwang. This happened a looooong time ago (this was from 2010, I believe) and it wasn't even his idea in the first place. It was scripted and I know he should have refused it and all but I hope we can let bygones be bygones. MBC had apologized and I really don't know what the editors were smoking when they did this. Please continue to demand it be removed.

Guys, Gikwang doing "Blackface" was probably not his choice. Idols who were on variety show especially about 6 years ago usually does whatever that is scripted by the writers. Plus he was still new(rookie) to the industry, he had no choice but to follow whatever that was on the script.
Don't hate on him. MBC shouldn't have inserted the clip of him doing "blackface". The editors probably had no clue as to what he was doing and his action has hurt a lot of people. But they probably thought it was a just funny clip of Gikwang working hard on variety show.

I'm not a beauty, but just to back up the black face as a Korean living in the US, the clip shown was many years ago, when Korea was still not open to diversity, and many prejudices were going on. When I grew up as a child in Korea, I too thought there was nothing wrong with it, because I had thought it was just a parody of a person. However, when I moved to the US, I learned about segregation and others in American history, and I realized that this was very wrong, and it was something extremely sensitive to the very own people.
Now Koreans are A LOT more aware of the importance of respecting race and diversity, and people's mindset have changed too. There had been many movements and organizations in helping people learn about diversity and respect for each race.
I am not saying by any means that this can be covered up, nevertheless I am sure that Gikwang now knows the wrong doings of his past. To foreign KPOP fans, I ask that you forgive our mistakes in the past, and we WILL do our best that this never happens again.

미친거 아닌가요? 흑인분장 일명 "블랙페이스" 심각한 인종차별이고, 이걸로 이광씨 엄청 욕먹고 MBC에서도 해외에 있는 팬들한테 공식적으로 사과하고 흑인들이 한국 예능에서 블랙페이스하는게 얼마나 기분 나쁜지 인터뷰도 많이 나왔었는데 하필 이장면을 홍보자료로 쓰다뇨... 뭐 2009년도에서 타임머신타고 2017년으로 오신 것도 아니고, 편집할때 정신차리고 편집하세요. 뭐가 인종 차별인지 아닌지 구분이 안되면 주위에 물어보세요. 좋아요 많은 외국인들이 단 댓글들 다 블랙페이스 비난하는 댓글이네요. 자기 프로에 나오는 아이돌 홍보는 못해줘도 최소한 욕먹이면 안되죠. 지능형 안티도 아니고, 팬도 아닌데 인종차별하는 장면을 너무 당당하게 홍보영상으로 쓰는 무뇌 편집력에 너무 어이가 없어서 글 남겨요. 정신 좀 차립시다. 한국 이미지 망치지 말고.
