I don't buy dolls unless they're on sale now :) When I can buy them.. I'm proud of you for talking about this! As doll collectors, sometimes we buy for instant satisfaction... then more come out & we keep buying, lol. If you ever decide to sell and doubles, I'd love to purchase some to help you purge.. or maybe we can trade. I have a bunch I still have in box. I actually just got my first 2 bratz. I got the 2 Kylie ones. Aww, I miss ever after high. Omg I never had a pulp doll.. wow, those are beautiful 😍
The doors on the shelves help to minimize the visual noise when required, as the dolls are all colorful and some have clashing colors, so I get where you are coming from
I recently went through buying WAY too many dolls and also have the desire to purge my collection. One thing I did was turn off notifications for price drops on secondhand sites to keep myself from jumping on a deal and with dolls like Bratz only allow one doll of a character instead of different versions of the same character. Also just limiting the brands I collect in general.
I loved this video so much. I love how organized your collection was before you purged and get rid of some dolls. I feel the same way I feel that they don’t give me the same amount of joy as I once did when I only had 10 to 20 as opposed to the hundreds I own now. I never realized how much FOMO was a real thing, until my collection has just become outrageous and embarrassing. Started doing is purging a lot of the out of doll boxes that I had even know the dolls came in the box for some reason I kept the box. So I got rid of ours, also I stopped buying any of the Barbie fashionistas, mainly because I just don’t like their face ups, due to the screening. Eventually, I’d like to get down to about 200 dolls and just sell my others inbox. Your doll room is beautiful.
What did you use to cover the glass for privacy? It looks fantastic! I donated a large part of my doll collection to a Domestic Violence shelter. It’s a place where women with their children can go to live and they are provided individual apartments. So many children had to flee their homes with their mothers and left behind their favorite toys. I first donated Charlie Bears, then the following month my dolls. All kinds of dolls, American Girl, Blythe, Barbie, Ruby Red Fashion Friends, and Gotz. I now plan on going through my Rainbow High which I’ve purchased since August. I have 70+. I am going to donate at least 40 of them. They are brand new and I know there are children that will love them. That’s the only way I can personally make sense of collecting. I have made the New Year’s resolution of no more dolls this year, so far so good.☺
one of my 2024 goals is to refine my collection to dolls I really love figure as well as to figure out a display for my collection that I'm happy with, so this video was super great inspo for me!! I admire how honest you are about your spending/collecting habits, I'm sure this video will help a lot of ppl in the hobby
Whatever dolls you just absolutely don’t want send them my way! I’m not picky and I’m just starting a doll collection with Pullip dolls, Blythe dolls, AG mini dolls vs the 18” AG dolls because I find them more easy to display and move around. Omg, I didn’t know there were sooo many different MLP’s until I saw your beautiful collection 🥰
Great talk and video. I love your hijabi RH ❤ I collect so many doll lines but I slowed down a lot lately. I try to do what I call 'slow collecting' which means I buy fewer dolls while putting more thoughts into each doll and giving space to enjoy each of them.

But then they released the more colorful ones and I knew I needed to stop. I love the black, white and grey aesthetic. The only ones I need to get her just the twins and my my collections complete!
ive been trying to slow down on my doll collecting too(but am very bad at it). especially for monster high who ive only been collecting for less than a year now but have a shelf dedicated for. i definitely need to reevaluate what is in my collection and if i really want it or if the hype gets to me. the monster fest doll concepts got shown today and i feel like i would usually want them but im in a phase where i feel like im on the brink of being completely overwhelmed so for now i don't plan on getting them especially because they aren't 100% my style. i think the designs are cute and monstery and i am a sucker for lines that are accurate to the show and are more "deluxe" like monster ball- but im gonna try to ignore that and just focus on what i truly love, and maybe think about how if i only had a few of the dolls in my collection would i be happy. i didn't plan on getting the scaredise line because draculaura was the only one who i really really loved when the stock photos leaked- but after seeing in person photos i ended up loving and then getting all of them and i just feel overwhelmed at the thought that G3 is only about a year old and i dont plan to stop collecting after just one year. as for the doors on your shelves, i love that you are able to just open them easily at any time to look at your collection. im definitely the type of person that can collect something but don't need it on display. like LPS, I just keep them in a little box and take them out whenever i want to look at them, theres no need to display them for me. i was considering getting doors for my shelves too, the same shelf as yours but the doors that are clear all the way down. i just feel like it will enclose my collection even more to a closed space and i won't feel like their taking over my room. so sorry for such a long comment!!!! but i've definitely been thinking about doll overconsumption lately and your video inspired me to think about my collection more thoughtfully! i would love to see a doll room tour!!! the way you organize your dolls is so aesthetically pleasing and i loved your previous ones! :))
i recently put all but about 10 of my 200 dolls in my attic. it was a hobby i loved doing since 2020 but honestly i don't have the space, money or time to keep up with it. 2 and a half years ago i started getting into collecting music memorabillia and it's cheaper and i enjoy it a lot more, i don't have the funds to do both at the same time and tbh for about a year i hadn't even picked up any of my dolls (or bought any) and i'd just feel overwhelmed seeing my collection, that's when i knew it was time to put them away. i honestly regret buying so many dolls because i wanted to have an entire line completed, ESPECIALLY with rainbow high, but i just can't bring myself to sell any currently.
What do I think about over consumption of dolls-I love it! But yes, agree. It’s good to purge and also, because our tastes change as collectors and as people. It’s normal to outgrow something we once liked, and it’s good to rotate and change is good!

Love your videos. Just subscribed. I think having new cabinet with glass doors is cool idea to display them and keeping them being dust free. My favorite lines is Bratz, LOL OMG and RH/SH. Not a fan with MH or Afterhigh dolls for personal reason. I have every BARBIE THE MOVIE dolls and the merch. I collected only vintage Barbies early 60’s era to mid 70’s that reminded of my childhood because it’s so nostalgic. I am completist also along with doll houses and playthings, too on my favorite lines.I love your mini me, so cute!
Not going to purge but Have decided to not buy anymore dolls starting in January 2024 for at least a couple of months and I do not purchase that many dolls but I am going to practice waiting so that I can truly appreciate the doll once I buy one.

People can definitely cross a line with collecting. When it goes from being something that sparks joy into an obsession that brings out negative feelings/compulsion/greed...then it's time to reflect and change. Also some things have an expiry date and you may go into a totally different hobby. You don't need to explain why. Just do what you want. Do what is authentic to you and some of your viewers may leave but then you'll gain a whole new audience too.
