I don't know about their total lifespan, but it took 6 months for a nymph (a single nymph I saved from an ooth I removed from the deceased parent) to mature. It's a female so the males may take slightly less time to mature as with other roach species. This was also without any additional heating, so 5 months or so may be the average for them
So I’m obsessed with these guys. I’ve been breeding them for 3 years and I can tell you I’ve only had one natural death. So they live at least 3 years. Also the others did not eat the dead one.
Thats so good to know! Also I am rather surprised by that considering how fervent they've been for proteins etc. Theyre just a truly remarkable species!
Just got a dozen. JESUS rehoming them from the shipping package was a trial. I had to make a separate vaseline lined box just to switch them from one container to another. They were going up my arm.. Just makes me admire them even more, haha. They're "energetic" for sure.
Pet them? I mean why would you pet invertebrates or any animal that doesn’t like to be pet ? Nice video tho, I like your flow. I have this species, and this is awesome
Very cool sounding roach!!
they really are!
Nice video! It's helpful
Thank you!!!

I was also surprised. Maybe I just got to it before they did. Mine aren’t afraid of light so much either. I even see them display mating behavior.
@@rebeccabowman1865 you should document and post video!!
