They don't attack and kill the Old WW going there on sex tourism though! We black people will never learn!
The first woman's rebuttal incorrectly stated death rate but I think she meant to say murder rate. Bottomline, regardless of who is doing the killing, it's just bad business and a bad vibe in general when visitors and/or Afro re-pats are losing their lives. It's a matter of safety, simple as that. It's not a personal attack against the Gambia but an honest critique. The worst the economic situation in a country is, the more risky it is for anyone coming there with money to spend. And O, you made a good point that I want to just co-sign. STOP STOP STOP going to a country because it's one of the poorest and you equate that to "the land is going to be cheaper and it will be cheaper to build your dream home there." You come into a nation struggling economically looking to buy a lot of land with claims of starting a business and it will draw a lot of attention, including the WRONG ATTENTION. Protect ya neck! Poorest nation also means poorest security and highest desperation of some (likely many) in the population and in situations like that, assume that everyone there is opportunist and your life means nothing to them. The Gambia isn't safe enough right now but hopefully, in the next 10 years, the continent will be on the way to a new reality where even the Gambia will be a safe enough place to live and invest, if that is your motivation. My girlfriend is Kenyan and I can't even convince her to step foot in the Gambia for one day (and Ruto is their president 😆), so it's not just a Re/pat perception. At the end of the day... this is not a reflection on the people of the Gambia, but rather, a reflection on the government of the Gambia. PAN-AFRICAN LOVE to each and every one of Mama Africa's children wherever they are in the world (and that goes double for you Gambia)

Being experienced with both The Gambia & Senegal, I also feel that when you travel (especially as a Black American - 'Richly Melanated' person) although all of us don't do a bunch of negativity, you still have to realize that you are temporarily a traveling foreigner; being you are a guest (that in most cases) are there to observe, trying to understand while not being too judgmental or critical about another person's permanent home. When I was visiting, I definitely noticed that (as in a number of African countries) there seemingly was a lack of appropriate infrastructure as well as various, unique forms of businesses. However, as opposed to being highly verbal about the situation (s) of lacking infrastructure & varied business I took mental notes of what could actually be done (especially if having access to enough financial capital) to improve the overall situations as well, within reason, implement new forms of business there; yet, again, with the direct aid & input of the local Gambia and Senegal citizens. It's sad to see people dying and the government not doing enough to arrest perpetrators of this crimes. In fact, what you are saying is quite reminiscent of how white people talk about Africa as a whole. Be careful of generalizations. Whatever is happening here, The Gambia is still safer than any of the cities we are living in today in the West. Its safer than New York, Amsterdam and Paris. We love to travel there and crime stats have never prevented us from going. Why would you not give The Gambia the same courtesy.

@tooadorable We flew from Seattle to Paris, France. After purchasing a pickup truck in France, we drove to Spain. From there, we took a ferry from Tarifa, Spain, to Tangier, Morocco. Our journey continued as we drove through Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, and finally, The Gambia.

Thank You for the story.
Another African American lady was just found hung in the Gambia. Happy Companion had it on his community tab. It is not safe for us in Gambia.

@@tribalsocietyvision5513 Kenganda - Oshay Duke Jackson & Associates: I do feel That it makes sense to be concerned about your whereabouts in whatever particular countries you may travel as well as your potential outcomes when traveling abroad. "Their Country, Not Yours." We as said....'FBA' s have been in the USA states for many centuries; however, as a whole, we seemingly still can't get our stuff together.
@@TheBigCheese-s3e My take on is: that the Black - Richly Melanated people as a whole, (especially as applying to both African and American Blacks [maybe one more so than the other and vice versa]) we fail in these five to six main areas: 1) The Idea Of A Non-proven One All Omnipotent God/Religions; 2) Not Having Overall Desire Or Values Toward True Ancient, Historical Knowledge & Science; 3) Negative Female Rulership By Non-Postnatal Trained ('Crooked Natured') Women; 4) Limited, Average Life Span; 5) Not Having Economic Productive Type Values (Needing Someone Else To Do What You Yourself Can Do While Also Not Maximizing On The Full Utilization Of Your Community's Or Continent's Natural Resources) & Finally, 6) The Allowed Destruction Of Family; all of this done within our limited, average 80-120 years maximum lifespan.
