I have no interest in animated shows, violence, or political intrigue. I LOVED this show. It is so realistic, and I love how diverse the characters and cast are.
The most meaningful song ... we've all had to interpret in the multiple ways he's telling us. Being alive as you watch someone crossing over "the line" (life to death) ...feels he's saying words for the character (Viktor) and also for the words his grandmother either said or would say. Then having a way for her to still be there to touch him as he plays to remember her. Goes to show how having a connection to folks.. alive or dead.. is important. Love ❤💯
i wont spoil incase you decide to watch Arcane but the scene this song was used is one where the character is crossing the line of what he shouldnt do, i see this song as him acknowledging thatt this isnt what his powers should be used for and its not what him and his science partner (??) wanted but hes too far gone to stop it. Which could also tie into clancy and twenty one pilots lore with Clancy possibly becoming a Bishop. Tyler himself wrote this song with his recently passed Grandma in mind so they are many ways to interpret this song and thats exactly why i love it
Does anyone else think that the figure around Tyler represents his grandma? I think that would be an amazing tribute. I started watching Arcane and it is really good!!
@@girlwithnoname956 Sky died trying to save Viktor from one of his inventions; he didn't kill her, at least not directly. After her death, he asked another character to destroy said intention, as he didn't one anyone meeting a similar fate
Something I noticed, is that throughout the video, Tyler's eyes have no light. They're hazy. Like they're the eyes of a dead man. But at the very end, just before he fades away, it looks like a small spark of that light of life returns to his eyes.
Spoiler alert... This song in the show represents the moment that viktor (the character represented in the video) chooses to give up his humanity for what he believes to be a better world, a world without war or pain, but unfortunately the conclusion he comes to is that emotion and ambition will always get in the way of his ideal world but he steels his resolve and throws it all away, he fully gives up the last little bits that make him human, it's him mourning losing who he once was, as he begins his mission to bring others towards his goal of "glorious evolution"
Kind of a massive spoiler for someone deciding if they should watch the show, but potentially a huge draw to watch his journey. Viktor was my favorite character start to finish. I knew enough of the original lore to guess where his character would go but dang. Hard to watch him destroy himself. 💔
@equestrianrosie yeah true, maybe I said too much, as someone who knows where he stood before arcane I kinda just didn't think about it as much as I should have
@@ToniTerrierI think he definitely should. Rich probably already saw the comment, but it should totally be edited in case he didn't, and for anyone who's not finished Season 2 yet.
Here's a few things we know from the last few days. He wrote the song as a tribute to his Nana after she passed away, while also tying it into the arcane story & to fit the scene. For the tøp lore, this can fit into the struggle of clancy possibly becoming a bishop & how that would affect his relationship with the banditos.
I thought I’d feel more emotional while listening to the song during Arcane, but that wasn’t the case. The intensity of everything building up to the final battle had me completely caught up in the moment. Now, listening to the song on its own… all the feels are hitting me!
the song is about one of the characters, Viktor (the one with white hair), who has to make a very hard choice. he is convinced that by sacrificing his humanity (and basically everyone else's) he'll be able to rid the world of any suffering. he's always been a character fueled by the desire to help people, growing desperate to fulfill that goal when he was told he had little time to live. to me, it sounds like he is apologizing (particularly to his former friend) for sacrificing humanity, but he'll do it anyway because he is convinced it's what must be done to create a perfect world. this is why he says "i'd rather you not be there for what might be my final form", meaning he doesn't like what he has to do, but since he'll do it anyway, he doesn't want his dearest friend to see what he turns into. it's also a song written about Tyler's feelings after the recent loss of his grandmother; he is perhaps insecure as to what his grandma would think of who he is now.
I don't know the show, but the song hit hard for me, as I interpret the meaning to be crossing that line between life and death. To lose five members of my family in the last three years, the song had personal and profound meaning for me. Then, to see Tyler's dedication, and to hear him speak about it, I knew I was getting it. I don't know how it fits with the show, but I guess I'll need to watch and see.
I can think about nothing but about this sound you've noticed in previous video (aka Darth Vader breath). Because this sounds like a breath of his grandmother connected to life support system. And the last words on the background of the song I heard is "time time" what could possibly mean a call for time to leave this world. Goosebumps!
Nah not perfect. Some segs scenes happen. Dumb 2 unnecessary scenes. If the series without those 2 scenes, it would be better. Because the scenes has nothing to do with the story. Instead, it ruin the atmosphere of that episode One is the normal straight segs scene. Another one is gei segs scene.
You should watch this, they send Tyler the sence and he connected it with his grandma's death when he was in the room with her and basically this show have so many amazing stories, I can say that I watched it because of Imagine Dragons and I just fell in love since than, I haven't watched the new season but I know it's gonna be beautiful and heartbreaking, you litterly can take the show to so many directions and I think it's very important because it's the same with Twenty One Pilots, so I think you should watch it. It will blow your mind.
The whole idea of this just keep getting deeper each time I watch yalls reaction to it. This time.. there was some much that clicked. The piano sounds like an old kind of piano at first and..then it made me wonder.. Is Tyler bringing his Nanny's sprint back by playing her piano.. and every time he'll play it.. her spirit will be there with him as he plays. That's gotta be really hard for him. What a grief. Tyler is so spiritual deep.. its hard to grasp 😢
listen. i dont like new things. i watched 2 new things in 2024. but people are not wrong to call it one of the best animated series of all time, and objectively one of the highest-rated shows that netflix has ever aired. you dont need to knew anything about the game. but you’ll want to rewatch as you go bc the plot is dynamic and tightly written. do not deprive yourself of this.
Also as every tøp song you can interpret it in many different ways for one there's obviously the meaning that connects to the show arcane and the scene the song is played in (haven't watched it yet unfortunately) 2ndly there's his personal meaning which is about losing his grandma I think (he said that just before he got sent the rough scene of the show she died so he was able to connect his meaning with the shows characters meaning) correct me if I'm wrong tho and lastly there are fan theories that "crossing the line" and "taking a different form" might refer to clancy becoming a Bishop to (I guess) infiltrate dema from within "facing my fears" is clancy facing the bishops and especially nico in the paladin strait mv
First of all, this song and video are absolutely beautiful and can be interpreted in many different ways. I know that this was written for Arcane, however it is odd that it only took Tyler 3 days to have it fully done. It makes me wonder if maybe he already started writing this to honor his grandmother and possibly use it as part of the continuation of the lore. It’s kind of crazy to me that the synth at the end of the Paladin Strait video when Tyler opens his eyes sounds a lot like the beginning of this song. I have also heard of a theory that has been swirling around about Clancy becoming a Bishop and it’s pretty convincing if this song has anything to do with the lore since it mentions my final form, memories of who I was before, he thought he was prepared for the threshold in store, facing his fears, and mentions of disappointing someone (the banditos?). Another reason I think this could relate to that theory is because of the letters written between the citizens of DEMA that were recently found during the tour at the FPE exhibit. There was a message from those letters that read: “We must destroy them (the bishops), or we will become them, and if we become them, we must do better”.
"Cross the line" In the video and in reference to the show, it's crossing a moral line. Will I be jusged poorly if I cross the line, especially after I pass on. In reference to life, when I cross the line into the afterlife, will I be judged as a good person, or did I fail those around me. It was inspired by watching his nana pass on.
It’s a gorgeous song and emotionally moving even if I don’t understand it either! I am not drawn to anime or fantasy, so how in the heck did I become a massive TOP fan? It’s because I jump to the meaning to me. But I think this one is so tied to the show, I probably won’t understand until a reactor explains it to me!
basically this character is sacrificing others in his life to obtain his ultimate goal......because even people he holds in respect pale in comparison to the world he wishes to build. this is coming from a pacifist even so yeah pretty damn crazy. Imagine jesus woke up one day and said "but there is a gun though" and then chose to use it. as for the crossing line part he does ascend to another form that will destroy his humanity making him question if he can ever be considered for the after life with all his loved ones.
Watch the show!! Although I've watched the MV before finishing the series, I advoided the comments because of spoilers 😅 You'll see how much the video and the song fits. Just.. 🤌🏾 It'll all make sense. Phenomenology show!

Absolutely believe it’s his Nana placing her hand on his shoulder.
It's actually a character from Arcane. I think her name is Sky. I understand Vikter killed her.
@@girlwithnoname956 Sky died trying to save Viktor from one of his inventions; he didn't kill her, at least not directly. After her death, he asked another character to destroy said intention, as he didn't one anyone meeting a similar fate
It is the representation of his grandma for the music video.

@@DBT1007this is just my opinion but i get what you’re trying to say
Tyler did say he was in the room when his grandmother passed recently and he drew on that for this song.
The video is more about the Arcane series.
the show is dope and worth the watch i was SO excited to hear TØP was doing a song ! and damn its perfect
