For a more regular 9/5 shift and regular/consistent day off, is there a setting where we can enter it once and have it auto populate for the year? For example someone who works a 9/80 shift has a regular day off the same day every other week..
This is an awesome question! When you're in your schedule, there is a button in the top right that says "Copy Schedule". This will copy a certain time frame that you desire. You can copy an entire month if you'd like, which streamlines the process dramatically. Thanks!
@@axiomtech3627, how would you import duty assignments from an Excel sheet where the duties are constant length and are filled every weekday but need assigning to the group members? Copy/paste seems tedious.I'd rather have a calendar with the various named empty shifts for the whole month or year and just right click and populate from a pick list of group members. Hopefully the calendar of all populated shifts would be visible to members so they could switch duties among each other without intervention by the Admin. Maybe there's another app instead of Shifts to achieve this?
Thanks. My shifts is a rolling rotation of 5 weeks. When copying a schedule it doesn’t drop down the employees obviously. Is there a way to copy the schedule without having employees assigned ?
hi , thanks for the sharing ! Can i ask is it possible filter the number of people schedule in term of filtering it to (Am shift ) and (pm shift ) so that we can have an overview of the manpower resources availability. Thanks
I don't know of a way to do this fully inside Shifts. When you download the excel spreadsheet, you can add a filter to that as you chose. Hope this helps. Thanks! -Kaleigh
Pretty informative video! Have a question: If someone gives up their shift by asking for a time off. Is it possible to automatically allow other users of the group to grab it for themselves? Also if you doing a swap, does it go to the owners of the group for approval?
Thank you for the informative video on Shifts. I found it very helpful and would like to implement this for my team. I have a question regarding partial shifts: How can employees sign up for only part of a shift? For example, if I have a student worker who can only work from 10am-2pm during an event scheduled from 8am-5pm, how can they schedule themselves for just that timeframe? This scenario is very common for us, and it hasn't been an issue in the past because we allow students to schedule themselves around their class times, offering multiple overlapping shifts to ensure adequate coverage. Is there a workaround for this?
As the Team Owner, how can I ensure that my backup supervisor has access to add shifts and approve requests? The backup has been added as an owner to the Teams channel, but the "add shift" option is still greyed out. How can this be resolved?
I know this is old and likely not going to see comment, but can we import activities rather than entering manually. Activities seems to be the only place to schedule breaks and lunches for my team and we have 30+ (and growing) employees to schedule breaks for.
You can copy the activities from a past shift. So, if your activities are the same for every shift, you should be able to paste them over! Fill out the activity section on a shift -> right click on that shift in the Schedule View -> Select Copy Shift -> Go to the date you also want that shift to be. (You can click and drag your mouse to select multiple dates. -> Right click again and select Paste Shift. I hope that makes sense. Thanks! -Kaleigh

Hi
We would like more explanatory videos regarding shifts, especially about substitutes if a team member leaves or takes a leave.
How do you edit or delete a time off request that was approved?

Yes there is. Your Team Owner can change this setting in the Settings tab. The Owner can decide if a swap has to be approved by management or not.
