Rengoku didn’t initially die from being punched in the stomach true, but he died from the wounds associated with it, so he still technically died from the injury.
Tanjiro did know he had to save Giyuu from what Akaza did to Rengoku as we know from Tanjiro’s reaction to Akaza’s arm being through Rengoku’s stomach that it was over

Yo I was thinking the same thing it like in Spider-Man but for tanjiro pretty sure rengoku had to die for tanjiro to learn some type of lesson or there was a reason for rengokus death I forgot the reason though.

But this is jusy my theory on why rengoku died first 😅
So when we first saw Rengoku, he was like a respectable and even an older brother to the kamboko squad/ Tanjiro, Zenitsu and inosuke. So my theory is that when they saw Rengoku die it was meant to represent the strong power of the demons.
No matter what you are.
Weather your good or the most kindest.
Demons will still kill you.
Because that's how it feels like in my opinion
Rengoku was a kind strong hashira. But even that didn't stop akaza from killing him
I know technically akaza wanted rengoku to become a demon but that's probably so muzan won't lose his temper or so theycan fight forever.

But He Does Use A Different Type Of Sword
