We are learning this song in my HSCB and we weren't doing so well, but once we heard the back story to this song we were inspired I guess to learn it in about 2-3 days
We played this song my freshman year in honor of a student who died who was in band Once again this year. Benjamin Logan high school is suffering. With the loss of two students. And now. I believe Me Bowers the new director should break this peice out again and give the school some closure. So they may ride from the ashes. And be able to move on. As. Coach lyangle said in we are Marshall Funerals end today

I played this today at my Senior Banquet... it was the last piece that I will ever play with my High School Band. I'm still iffy about doing band in college (because I WONT if I have to do band to be in colorguard). Either way... It's a beautiful song; playing the end of it however, always makes me almost pass out because I've only been playing for a year, and those notes are high... I can get them, but it gives me a headache and gives me the "pass out" problem.
This song is pretty easy compared to Flight. We played that song when I was in HS. It was tough as all hell. We also played Summer Dances, which was also pretty tough. All of his compositions are amazing though. :)
this is pure nostalgia! I played this piece when I was high school band. love this piece.
we played this my sophomore year. that year was the first year my school got a unanimous superior in concert band. it was epic to say the least
