DIYer here, thank you for this video! If it were not for your instructions I would have never been able to change the piston rings on a lawnmower that needed it desperately!
Very grateful for this. I followed each step as I rebuilt my Kohler Courage XT7 engine. It started back up on the first pull and runs great. Excellent how-to video.
Thankyou for doing a great job ! I have several of these engines that were donated by Kohler and they have worked out really well with the power points, but this video allows for another way to learn for different types of students. Wags
Excellent video! I wish I can be one of your student (in Montreal). My XT-7 Canadian version is just a little bit different; I wish I can have a primer bulb instead of the Diaphragm which I think is not working properly. Since the first day, I can't easily crank up the engine. Thank you so much for putting this video. I've learned so much. Can you explain quickly the whole process of getting the the machine start up at cold.
Briggs & Stratton or Kohler are excellent, well made engines. Change the oil and keep the air filters clean and they last a long time. I have the Kohler on my own lawn mower and its 10 yrs old and still going strong. Thanks for watching!
I actually found 1 of these in a ally, im in Chicago I've never seen a mower of this brand here let alone a mower thrown in the trash ever in my life! Everything was highly suspect and still is.
so i have this engine on a cub cadet i inhearited from my dad and ive done some minor work like new carb and sparkplug but i cant start it, i can pull on the cord but when i get to a certain point itwill not budge... now i know im pulling hard enough when the whole mower moves with the pull.. any ideas anyone?
check the air filter. I have the same engine on my mower and sometimes the carb will flood and saturate the air filter in gas and it will not breath. Ive also had grass plug it up and not be able to pull the string. Also, make sure the flywheel brake is adjusted so the engine can spin freely (that piece with the heavy spring near the top right side of the engine/flywheel. You need to need to be holding a bar/kill switch down when starting this engine or the brake will hold the flywheel and keep it from spinning and stops the spark too! Good luck!

Great educational video. I wish there were more like this across all brands and models.
Absolutely perfect instruction video . The way it should be done. So easy to understand and follow . Good job. Thank you .

Joseph Wagner thanks for the feedback! I got all my engines when they donated them also.
The best video that I’ve seen on this engine so far. You’ve earned a new sub here. Thanks for making this.
Mine is broken and I am in the quest to repair it. Thank you for this so helpful video.
Very nicely done video. Good lighting and clear explanation. Thank you for doing this.

Seems like a pretty well made engine. I'm trying to decide which mower to buy and can't decide what engine manufacturer to go for.

Is this engine better than the Briggs & Stratton 6,7,8 Series?
