Gotta say, while most of the script changes for the prologues of most characters don't usually sound off, there's just something about the way the narrator starts King's Prologue in the U.S. version that always sounds amazing. "Armor King was murdered." Is literally the first line. When you hear that, you know the narrator isn't beating around the bush, shit is going down. Maybe it's the bias of growing up with that script and narrator, but that will always be probably my favorite opening line in any Tekken, or even Fighting game prologue. It says so much, while having so little. Anyways, this is another great TAS, utilizing all of Kings chain throws and low parrying the shit out of the cpu was fun, especially seeing the ultimate tackle reversal against Paul.
Tekken 4 is the only different-voice series. In the Japanese and Korean versions, it is a subtitled language because it is English to match the words. There are many awkward things to hear right away in the West.
Yeah right rightly said, armor king , king's mentor and foster father is dead seems less dramatic and too long for some reason. I'm amazed by how a simple change of words between these two versions can have a huge impact on the tone and setting up the atmosphere. The difference between dead ( umm okay) vs murdered ( oh shit) also seems huge. I agree with your points above.
I think this game had the best outfits in the series. Paul's half-gi and long hair outfits, Kazuya's suave P2, both of Jin's outfits, King's long hair, Hwoarang with short hair, Xiaoyu's jacket, Heihachi having taped hands and ankles...

Crazy part is, some of these maps you don't need tool assists, if you can get them into the corner, that's it, game over. By the way, Heihachi's sandals are so loud, they go over the cheers. Other crazy part is, even with just pixels, and King's facial expression never changing, you can still see so much emotion in the end
It's so awkward playing through this game's story mode without T5-esque character interludes. Like you can play as King as just randomly come across the man you entered the tournament to kill and he'll just be like "okey"
Dude I'm sad the Heihachi didn't keep it. I think the staffs thought players didn't also like that about Tekken 4, I mean the backlash was so much, I don't blame them for bearly keeping anything Tekken 4 brought. (not that it is a good thing tk 4 is goat)

To answer your question. King 1 was killed by Ogre before the 3rd tournament and the original Armor King raised an orphan raised by King who wanted to be just like him, he was trained for 18 years until The King of Iron Fist Tournament 3 was announced & King 2 entered the tournament hoping to get revenge for his hero's death.
That Marduk fight was wacky! Also in that last round with Heihachi, I loved how you displayed the signature moves of: The Rock, Stone Cold and The Undertaker.
Tekken 4 was imo the pinnacle of dynamic stages. After that it was flat ground with the exception of 6 and beyond with destructable walls, floors, and mid stage changes.

I really wish Marduk could’ve been released in an earlier Tekken game. I would’ve love to have seen the fight scene between Armor King and Marduk. They made a reference to it in Tekken 7 when they both released during Season 2’s Pass. Oh Tekken. I love this Series!
