Trusting people and thinking you are cool with them now will never work out. They are cool with you until they get what they want. After that they forget quick on how much you helped them

If I'm already BROKE how do I afford an attorney (one who specializes in Entertainment contracts) to look over my contract? What happens if said lawyer comes back and says "this is a bad deal" and the label makes no counter offer? Now I'm not signing the deal and I owe an attorney money. No one is doing this shit for free. You need Money to retain the lawyer in the first place and that's IMPOSSIBLE to do if you don't have any.
      I'm not speaking from a place of ignorance, I'm speaking from a place of knowledge. I have my Master's Degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, I know a little something on the topic. A "regular" lawyer 9 times out of 10 won't know or understand Entertainment contracts or verbiage. You NEED someone who specializes in that. It's not as black and white as you and the initial commenter are making it out to be.

      That’s how they stay “successful.” It cost penny’s to give an artist 20 to 50k. They’re starving, so that’s a lot of money to them. But over a lifetime of a catalog they’ll make it back times 10. It’s another stream of income for them. Diddy did the same to Biggie. Quentin doesn’t know any better. There is a way you can around that. Especially, being a ghost writer. He wanted the clout from being on a Drake record, though. And that’s how they got his money off the records.

Your more likely to be unsuccessful then successful.Take it from someone that's been writing songs for 20 years and rubbed shoulders with some big names in the industry. If you working in a bakery for minimum wage like Quentin Miller and been handing out demos for years then out of nowhere a multi-platinum producer offers you a deal, most people gonna take it especially if they don't have any other options but to keep working in a bakery.

    There is no way the publisher got 100 percent of it. That makes zero sense because they can only take 50 percent of the song and the writer/producer split the other 50 percent. There is definitely more to the story. I was checking out the Song Info for some of the songs he wrote and he got a decent percentage under HIS name and not the publisher. On the song 10 bandz by Drake it looks like Quentin got 30 percent. So idk there is definitely more to this story then he’s letting on.
