I have one of these at work and use it all day. I really like it and it feels great to use and feels comfortable. It’s heavy duty and very reliable. I do however feel that it has a problem with it’s top end power. I think it has something preventing it from reaching its peak RPM. When using it I have the throttle trigger on full power and it feels and sounds very flat like it has at least 3-4 thousands of RPM available until it reaches its redline. I checked the spark plug and it was very carbonated and I removed the exhaust and found the outlet port was absolutely caked with black carbon. It definitely was restricting the air flow, I flushed the actual exhaust out too with petrol. It definitely helped the engine and was noticeable that it was restricted. What else could I do to the engine to help it rev higher. I don’t really want to strip the carb as it’s works machine. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for your message and the only thing I would recommend is to use Stihl's HP Super engine oil or the Ultra. As both products keep the engine clean and allows the engine to be at the optimal power
Looking at Stihls FS360 diagram there is a Stud just above the head casing that you can apply grease into or your can strip the head apart by removing the head from the shaft. I hope this helps?
Nice bit of kit the 360 its my favourite out of the clearing saws just thing its the perfect balance of weight and power
Good info, thanks
