So the data from the DRTK2 is actually RTCM3 messages stored inside. Using RTKCONV, I turned the file into RINEX data and processed it using RTKPOST. Hope that helps
@@prodronesasia5262 So it's not possible to have a fast yet not perfectly georeferenced preview of the point cloud withotu RINEX or RTK positioning. Why can I see the preview on the transmitter but I can't see the model without correcting it?
Great great video. I have commented on another vid of yours but have another question regarding this. Around the 1:45 mark you say that you PPK’d your third party base station and put that location in the OBS file. Did you post-process with RTKPost and use the 3rd party base station as the rover and the CORS station as the base? That would produce a POS file. How do you get that to an OBS file? Am I understand that correctly? Also, I flew an L1 mission WITH the DJI-RTK2 base station with RTK enabled but did not use a known point. So I am trying to post-process the raw data from the DJI base with the CORS stations and then insert that into my flight file. How do I go about this?
Thanks! I would use RTKconv to do the conversion. In the options section, you could insert the antenna position. With newer versions of Terra, this is no longer necessary as the position data can be inserted in the base station position menu before processing. Hope this helps !!!
Thanks Wen! I appreciate the response. When I put the ‘ref pos’ from the .pos file into Terra, it gives me an 8007 error code stating that the pose data is abnormal. Is this an issue stemming from CORS data and how I used RTKPost? And any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you again!
Hello, great help, but big missing piece of information, how do you use a third party base station , PPK the data and create the RINEX file and generate the OBS file? this step is holding me up, i cant figure out how to do that?
Usually a base station will have its own suite of tools for these functions. Trimble will have the Trimble Business Center, Emlid has the Emlid Studio etc. If you don't then you can always use RTKLib. Use RTKConv to convert from raw data format to RINEX, then use RTKPost to process then RTKConv to generate a new set of RINEX data with the antenna position put in. Hope this helps!!!
@@prodronesasia5262 thanks. Makes sense. I ended up getting the files from a local network of towers, I’m in Canada so we use a paid service like can net. They had data for the entire day I needed, worked perfect.
You put in the ... settings menu under RTK. Scroll to the bottom and you will find advanced settings. Password by default is 123456 and then key in the Lat, Long and Ell. Height there
Hi Wen, i need to fly m300 with L1 at offshore taking Lidar data for some structures from a moving vessel with no 4g no wifi no DRTK-2.... can i process the data using PPK?
Hi Fairuz, Yes you can, but you will need RINEX data from a base that is as close as possible to the worksite. This is to reduce the inaccuracies of the RTK resulting in "blurring" of the data. Hope that helps
This only works on stations that support broadcasting correction messages via Wi-Fi. Please check with the supplier of your equipment on how to do so. The remote will then connect to the base station via Wi-Fi. Hope this helps. Thanks!
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing! Is there any sample L1 datasets around for me to look at? My company is considering an L1 purchase, and I would love to have a look at the data and how well it will downstream to our animation modeling workflow. Thanks!
If you are referring to the conversion from the file in the DRTK2, I tend to work with 3.04 as I haven't had problems with those yet. Hope this helps. Cheers :)
At 100m height, it does achieve the 15cm X-Y and 7.5cm Z through our tests. It varies according to your flight height due to geometry of the laser beam. The offset from IMU and GNSS is done automatically by DJI Terra but that does mean that you can only use it on a single gimbal mount
Hi Wen. A good tutorial on the L1 processing! I've flown L1 without RTK enabled. Then I tried processing it with and without Base Station. There are no significant differences between them so I wonder if they actually used the RINEX file I put in the folder during processing. Any way to check if they actually used the RINEX file as a Base during processing? Additionally, what is the right format for the RINEX file? Yours was *.obs but recent RINEX file mostly in *.21o extension. Cheers!
Hi! So you can check the difference in the output logs. But one way is that if you turn on the optimization, it will not work without base data. As for the RINEX file, you can just change the extension from .21o to .obs and it will work. Cheers!
I had this very same issues but my point clouds appear to be displaced almost 100m from their original location, do I need to change the coordinate system of the base to WGS 84?!
@@prodronesasia5262 Hi, I did as you mentiones and passed the first point. Got the .21o file and changed the extension to obs. DJI Terra started to work further but after a minute it says: There is no overlap between the base station data and the aircrat end data collection time period, please chech the base station data time.
Hi, which payload are you referring to? If its from the P1, L1 or L2 then yes! You just need a software like Topodrone PPK or Emlid Studio. Hope this helps!
Hi Wen, can you clarify what is the correct setting in DJI Pilot to fly without D-RTK? I am using a third party base station for PPK. But when I turn off D-RTK in the mission, there is no .RTB file saved and DJI Terra won't process the data.
Just a random base station we have in the office for long term observations on static points. As long as there is a RINEX file available the software will process

That one is not necessary as I only use it as a verification tool to verify the RTK data in the dataset
can I use 2 base static data for processing on DJI terra? for ensure more accurate data than one base only observation.
Yes you can. Terra accepts multiple sources of correction
