- विवेचना: याहया की अय्याशी की वजह से पाकिस्तान हारा था 1971 का युद्ध?
3 दिसंबर, 1971 की दोपहर को जैसे ही जनरल याहया ख़ान अपनी जीप से वायुसेना हेडक्वार्टर्स जाने के लिए चले, एक बहुत बड़ा गिद्ध उनकी जीप के सामने आ कर बैठ गया.
याहया के बग़ल में बैठे जनरल हामिद ने धीरे-धीरे जीप बढ़ानी शुरू की, लेकिन गिद्ध ने हिलने का नाम नहीं लिया. उन्होंने हॉर्न बजाया, लेकिन गिद्ध ने उतनी ही हिकारत से उन्हें घूरा. याहया ने भी जीप से कूद कर अपने बेंत से उसे भगाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन गिद्ध टस से मस नहीं हुआ.
माजरा देख कर पास काम कर रहा माली दौड़ता हुआ आया और उसने बहुत मुश्किल से अपने फावड़े से गिद्ध को याहया के रास्ते से हटाया.
बाद में उस समय याहया ख़ान के एडीसी अर्शद समी ख़ान ने अपनी आत्मकथा 'थ्री प्रेसिडेंट्स एंड एन एड' में लिखा, "मैं अंधविश्वासी नहीं हूँ, लेकिन 3 दिसंबर, 1971 की दोपहर का वो दृश्य बार-बार मेरी आँखों के सामने कौंधता है जब एक गिद्ध ने जनरल याहया ख़ान की जीप का रास्ता रोक लिया था, मानो कोई ऊपरी ताक़त उन्हें बताने की कोशिश कर रही हो कि युद्ध पर जाने का फ़ैसला सही फ़ैसला नहीं है." रेहान फ़ज़ल की रिपोर्ट

After the Chinese attack in 1962 and the near disaster in 1965 India realised the danger of a joint attack by China and Pakistan simultaneously. India then had no option but to help Bangladesh!!

Biggest mistake Pakistan troops was to destroy bridges which were never used by Indian forces. It was .Gen. Manekshah had thourough knowledge, cooperation and dedication of Indian forces that Gen. Manekshah succeeded to achieve his objectives and deliver success to India. I was in Shillong and saw the entire operation from minute to minute.
Dacca was not tankable-USSR was on Indian side- Russian general told Indian to bomb headquater and drop 300 paratroopers -general Niazi was not worth a dime-surrendered.
