Sidhpeeth Maa Jwalpa Devi temple situated in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand it is around 30 km from Pauri and 75 km from Kotdwara on Kotdwar-pauri national highway no 119 via Dugadda , Satpuli.
This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is a Siddhpeeth.
According to the legend daughter of Asur raj Pulom prayed here to the goddess and pleased her to get Devraj Indra as husband.
Devi Appeared in the form of Deeptimaan Jwala, (Great Holy Fire).
Since then this place is a shidhpeeth. In the ancient sacred Hindu texts this Temple is referred as Jwalpeshwari dham on the bank of Nayar.
It is said that Adi Guru Shankaracharya visited and prayed in this temple, and that the Goddess appeared to him.
Every year a special puja on the occasion of Navratri is held here & many pilgrims assembled to pay their homage to Devi Mata. There are about 100 stairs to reach the temple from the main road. Small shops with puja materials on the path & a lot of bells are hanging .
Western Nayar river is flowing down with scanty water & the hills with green vegetation on the banks. The place is serene & very peaceful. It is a very good place to meditation and perfect place to visit with kids and elders people.

Heard about jwala devi but never heard about jwalpa devi. Interesting place ti seems.
Yes both are different , jwala ji is in kangra district of himachal pradesh, i insist u too visit devbhoomi uttarakhand too.

stopped there for a minute & then crossed while going from Srinagar to Kotdwar to my home on this 11th of May. Didn't go inside due to the current situation, the temple was also closed.
A worth visiting place it seems.💕
