It's a thing started by politicians which is followed by a small percentage of dumb people, also most people here in Bangalore are friendly and helpful to people who are friendly, some people from the northern part of India aren't exactly friendly because of the difference in the way people are raised in different parts of the country and I'm not saying they are rude or something. The issue is actually political in nature which most people (from both parts of India) fail to understand.
