Best TH-cam comment I've read all year--and it's December 28th. Also I don't see how you could buy a 1000 dollar program and just give up on it. Unless you pirated it. Then I can see how easy it is to give up on it. :P
ctrl+shift+insert - inserts an empty space in the middle of selected rigion. ctrl+shift+delete delets a selected rigion from entire playlist. shift+drag a clip - copy (similar to ctrl c/v). great tutrial
The thing is, you're so experienced that you talk too fast and don't explain things from a "dummy" perspective. This is still the best tutorial I have come across. Other tutorials are the same way, they speak from their understanding, not from a noob's.
I took out and dusted off my 'ol FL Studio I bought years ago, updated it, and with your tutorials I am learning more than I have in the last 2 years! I've only completed Two Tuts so far. You do good work.
These videos are super helpful, Seamless. Fantastic job. When you're covering a lot of ground in a tutorial, most people are not very fluid with talking and explaining and it ends up becoming a bore, but I love the pace at which you are explaining things. You are succint and to the point.
Seamless, you are definitely the best FL Tutorial maker around. I mean, I know most of this stuff, but still. I watched the whole video just for the enjoyment. Keep it up man!
You go through EVERYTHING that I need to know. Wow. You just earned yourself a subscriber and every time I don't know how to do something, I will go back and watch and see if you covered it. Just what I need. Thank you!
so many useful tips in this tutorial! very in depth and probably way more efficient than reading the manual yourself. I'm gonna watch the whole series.
your tutorials are awesome, its just what i needed to produce more rapidly. i would recommend these tutorials to anyone even if they have a good knowledge of fl.
Mate your videos are so informative and clear. Really enjoyed watching you, your also really funny which makes the videos so much more watchable. Thanks for what your doing, big respect from the UK! Peace!
Most of this stuff I was familiar with but there were alot of neat things that really help with the workflow i didnt know of. like the grouping and pattern merging, great stuff as always
1. Somewhat. If you mean dragging track one down. then yes. You just need to right click and select 'move down' 2. Im not sure what you are trying to say, could you rephrase it? 3. there are certain snap positions, however small that make the size change in fl. There is also an undo button. 4. Yes, these are automaton clips. which can do EVERYTHING. from cutoff to resonance. and volumes.
I just wanna say thanks! Seamless! I subscribed a while ago because of ur awesome vids!.. But I recently been looking to get more knowledge about FL studio aaaaand Im gonna watch all 53 vids in this playlist! Lol keep up the good work Bro!
Thanks. For 2, I meant if you want to move a clip up and down without changing the position horizontally. In other daws you can hold control etc while dragging to lock it. (For 4, automation is a bit overkill for what I mean, but it sounds like FL just doesnt have envelopes/fades on audio clips).
Hello! Seamless, very good your classes ... I hope it continues because here in Brazil do not think a full course of FL and although other programs I've been using FL since the earliest versions, and I am passionate about colorful and creative visual There are ... some people claiming to be impossible to learn something about FL only with tutorials on TH-cam, and I'm willing to prove otherwise ...
dude honestly i was looking for tutorials like these, explaining step by step everything..you rock and i like very much the way you talk :P keep it up, im sure you are helping thousands of people with these videos..but i have one small question..did you try to send demos to someone ?? i mean your music is really cool and im sure that u can do a lot better also and u can achieve something great !!
Ohh man how I love you and your tutorials! You have this energy and weirdness and it is such a rare gem, keep it keep it man never give it awaaaaaaayyyyyy!
Well, I have some questions 1) is there a way to drag the order of tracks up/down? 2) can you constrain a clips start time when dragging it to another track? 3) how do you make all tracks the same height when you've messed up the height of one? 4) is there no way of adding little fade in/out to audio clips, like in cubase?
Took me quite a while but I was able to watch the whole thing while actively playing along. It might be a slow process but as long as I get it done I'll be good to go.
I'm a pretty experienced FL user, but I'm still watching this for those little useful tidbits that I might now know (I started without any knowledge of FL or music production in general).
Awesome stuff man. YOU are the one who inspired me to do my own tutorials. Though, they are nowhere near as good as yours. Anyway, I love watching these because there is always something left to learn. I'm already loving this new schedule thing you're doing, I wish you the best. -AUX
Don't know if it was mentioned in the comments, though I thought you might add a small extra thingy, I find it useful instead of using the Mute function. Whenever you play a song, if you would like to mute an entire track you can simply press the small green light, and the whole track is muted. Same with step sequencer of course
That moment when the music made for a tutorial series, likely in under 5 minutes time, is better than what you've been working on for 8 weeks. Yep. Time to watch this series...
It's automation. He is automating certain parameter changes. Here he is automating the filter cutoff frequency of one of his synthesizers. This way you can control everything in your instruments, rather than just the notes they play.
Awesome videos, just working through them right now... quick question: I don't seem to have those three extra buttons (pattern clips, automation clips, sound clips) that should be at the top of the track list column in my playlist editor. Instead there is just a blank gray square. How do I get those back? I am using FL Studio 11 if that helps.
want to move the track's playlist 3 up and I am not able, please help me. I think in the FL 10 not to do that ... We've seen his videos than in FL 12 can move the track3 up or down ... But in FL 10 can not Please help me ...
Biggest confusion for me is learning the hot keys in FL and forgetting the hot keys for Reason. Some are similar but others are not and I need to constantly remind myself which hot keys to use. I bet there is a way to set your hot keys though if this persists for me. I just want to get my workflow back and not worry about key bindings.
Need help. The way I have been using FLS12 is upon opening, I replace channel rack kick for instance, with Punchbox and clap to Superior Drummer. Then replace snare and hat with other synth plugins. I use piano roll for all. I develop my ideas kind of freestyle that way. But then I want to take the channel 1 kick notes and make a separate pattern with them so I can make more patterns based on kick (Punchbox) only. My goal is to do this with the other channels too (drums, melody, and accents). But when I go to copy/paste the notes from the piano roll into patterns things break down. FLS allows me to paste all 4 channels into a single pattern but seemingly not just track 1 into a pattern separately etc. I am probably not doing something right but I have researched it over and over and not found the answer I am looking for. Thanks for your time.
Seamless, How did you make your time marker yellow arrow thing( I'm New) have a yellow line instead of just changing the color of the beat that it's on?
Can I have lessons? I want learn stuff about how remaking ''applause'' by lady gaga and how make the sound good! Im using the 3xOsc + BooBass .. I Love it but I have problems with the LFO plus volume time ajustment in the Intro :).
I'm so used to more advanced tutorials. I've been using fl since version 8 so this is a little too simple for me. Good video though. Would have loved someone to explain this to me when I was starting off.
is there a shortcut key to let your hotkeys work, rather than clicking the keyboard symbol on and off? Also to put a loop on you can use right click rather than double click!
great video thanks man. question- is there anyway i can skip a section in playlist? for example say after bar 16 i wanted to play bar 21- how do i do this?
well i wanted to try different scenarios without deleting tracks from playlist. bar 17 after 16 and then bar 21 after 16. thats why i didnt wanna delete 17-20. actually i know how to do it now. just add a marker (17) > right click on the marker and select skip > then add another marker (21) where you want the track to start again > right click on the 2nd marker and select None.. thats it :)
Mohammad Hossain You can also just move bar 17 to bar 21, copy what you want to play, paste it into the playlist, and fill it in within the empty space you made. That way you don't need to delete anything. Glad you found a way to do what you want tho. I think your way is very smart for when you just want to experiment with arrangements and not move / copy / paste everything all over the place
at about ten minutes into your vid,the video skips to the very end and begins the next. dont know if thats just me but maybe it can be fixed. I am tuning in to these awesome vids to help me get started with fl studio 11. Thank you.
+Cronexx if you want to have different kicks in patterns, try to just add the new kick below, instead of replacing it. every instrument you want to use should be listed in the pattern window (even if you are not using it in the specific pattern)
+Akir Stuart well. if you notice, while making the song, there is a bar on the top middle of the screen that goes from left(yellow color) to right(red color) when you play a song. if your song is not mastered correctly, the bar might go all the way to the right (to/over 0 decibels) and if it get over 0 decibels, your song will clip, which can be a problem for your track and can damage your speakers. fruity limiter, when put to master channel (by default on a new project) is used to limit all the sounds in the project so when they come together, the song does not clip (so it never goes above 0db).
+Akir Stuart but since the meaning of mastering is to make the track as loud as possible without clipping, and the limiter will only make the track quieter, there is something called maximus. it is used to even out the low, mid and high frequencies so that the track has better balance between them, making the song loud af if done correctly. hope this helps
ametuer rapper/producer here would appreciate some help i cant drag and drop audio files in the playlist the cursor seems to be stuck on all the writing tools but cant drag DIRECTLY From the windows desktop or music library into the playlist to sample from right click in to the edison you seem to know whats what and icould use some insight thank you
Woah! How did we skip from having what we did in the fist tutorial to having this?
Tutorial #1= 180,000 views
Tutorial#2= 70,000 views
Our world is full of quitters
The last one on the playlist: 5k views :P
Best TH-cam comment I've read all year--and it's December 28th.

Unless you pirated it. Then I can see how easy it is to give up on it. :P
A lot of people pirate fl, it's a shame really. Why not just buy it, you'll get every future version of it anyways
Because not everyone is stupid as you are.
no everyone has these 200$ to pay
ctrl+shift+insert - inserts an empty space in the middle of selected rigion. ctrl+shift+delete delets a selected rigion from entire playlist.
shift+drag a clip - copy (similar to ctrl c/v).
great tutrial
Mad respect. Thank you for these videos man.
that neckbeard is ridiculous. *tips fedora*
The thing is, you're so experienced that you talk too fast and don't explain things from a "dummy" perspective. This is still the best tutorial I have come across. Other tutorials are the same way, they speak from their understanding, not from a noob's.
I've been using FL since FL 8 and I'm learning so much basic stuff that I've never realized before. Loving the series so far Seamless.

John isn't having a nice day. He is being ignored
These tutorials are worth paying a good bit for. Appreciate the time and effort you took to uploads these in depth explanations of FL. Thanks!
Seamless, you are definitely the best FL Tutorial maker around. I mean, I know most of this stuff, but still. I watched the whole video just for the enjoyment. Keep it up man!
After looking for Tutorials for 1 year I finally found this piece of gold that can finally teach me the programm and maybe also some Music Therory.
You go through EVERYTHING that I need to know. Wow. You just earned yourself a subscriber and every time I don't know how to do something, I will go back and watch and see if you covered it. Just what I need. Thank you!

McCOY YaBishh i edited the comment so now it seems you are correcting someone who said it right.
Seamless i'v seen tons of fl tutorials yours are by far the best keep making more
your tutorials are awesome, its just what i needed to produce more rapidly. i would recommend these tutorials to anyone even if they have a good knowledge of fl.
TheNewBoston posted 12 good TH-cam videos about how to use the FL Studio.
The more helps the better!
Many thanks to SeamlessR.
Mate your videos are so informative and clear. Really enjoyed watching you, your also really funny which makes the videos so much more watchable. Thanks for what your doing, big respect from the UK! Peace!

Amazing videos. Thx to you, i am beginning to understand this beautiful program.
Wow this series is so helpful. I've been using FL on and off for 3 years and didn't know half of these basics.
you are very thorough with your tutorials, bless your heart
"....so that's what that does"
Always learning new things :)
SeamlessR is god's child, sent to help young producers.

Seamless you rock! I love your videos man, so refreshing and funny - by far the best tutorial series I've seen to date. Keep up the great work.
I've been using FL since v.1 and I still picked up a couple tricks from you. Thanks
I just wanna say thanks! Seamless! I subscribed a while ago because of ur awesome vids!.. But I recently been looking to get more knowledge about FL studio aaaaand Im gonna watch all 53 vids in this playlist! Lol keep up the good work Bro!

You showed me a whole new world.
Ohh man how I love you and your tutorials! You have this energy and weirdness and it is such a rare gem, keep it keep it man never give it awaaaaaaayyyyyy!
Thank you for all the videos, I like that you move quick and straight to the point! Just like FL is meant to be used :)
this is by far the most useful totorial ive found good job :D
Well, I have some questions
1) is there a way to drag the order of tracks up/down?

Man Glad I found this Seamless!...here 2019
i agee 2019 me to
I've been wondering, for 3 years, how to do what you showed at 11:30. THANK YOU!!
Don't know if it was mentioned in the comments, though I thought you might add a small extra thingy, I find it useful instead of using the Mute function.
Whenever you play a song, if you would like to mute an entire track you can simply press the small green light, and the whole track is muted.
Same with step sequencer of course
Cool tutorial and Uber cool track. Wonder what awesome song will it turn into... 👍
That moment when the music made for a tutorial series, likely in under 5 minutes time, is better than what you've been working on for 8 weeks. Yep. Time to watch this series...
H
Control + B is brilliant! Ha. I was wondering how you were doing that
Seeing upcoming producers grow just like I did makes me happeh.
Anyone using these tutorials should name their first song effort "Hotkeys (I Use Words)".
thank you!... you are the best teacher for FL
Thanks Seamless!
can you make a tutorial on how to record vocals over a beat?
Turn on captions and 29:09 You're welcome! :)
You rock dude!
In part 1 you made 2 or 3 patterns and now there's the green stuff and I have absolutely no idea what it is
It's automation. He is automating certain parameter changes. Here he is automating the filter cutoff frequency of one of his synthesizers. This way you can control everything in your instruments, rather than just the notes they play.
Like those vocals
Awesome videos, just working through them right now... quick question: I don't seem to have those three extra buttons (pattern clips, automation clips, sound clips) that should be at the top of the track list column in my playlist editor. Instead there is just a blank gray square. How do I get those back? I am using FL Studio 11 if that helps.
plz Seamless give me title of this song "remix" who you use in this video :)
I know pretty much all the basic stuff, but I still learned some useful things that I had missed. Cool.
awesome vids mate! well explained
by god u have a good day as well
want to move the track's playlist 3 up and I am not able, please help me. I think in the FL 10 not to do that ... We've seen his videos than in FL 12 can move the track3 up or down ... But in FL 10 can not Please help me ...
Thank you
I watch this video over a hundred times GOOD NICE

I wonder how to can place your loop song at a selected time marker so you dont have to drag the loop where you want.
You are a hero
Need help. The way I have been using FLS12 is upon opening, I replace channel rack kick for instance, with Punchbox and clap to Superior Drummer. Then replace snare and hat with other synth plugins. Good for you man. Anything else you might want to tell us? We're all very interested, I'm sure.
Hi I have a question. I can create preety good leads but I do not like presets and I can don't know how to create my own, any advices how to learn ?
Seamless, How did you make your time marker yellow arrow thing( I'm New) have a yellow line instead of just changing the color of the beat that it's on?
great teacher you are seamless nice.
Thanks 4 making them
Can I have lessons? I want learn stuff about how remaking ''applause'' by lady gaga and how make the sound good!

How do I get something to resume snapping after I've already used the alt key to disable snapping to change the length?
I'm so used to more advanced tutorials. I've been using fl since version 8 so this is a little too simple for me. Good video though. Would have loved someone to explain this to me when I was starting off.
Why did the notes change when you merged patterns?
Thank u seamless. I so wish imageline would create themes that are lighter and easier to see. I get tired of the same dark themed grayness.
thanks for the loop marker, didnt know about it haha.... its really helpful thanks so much
is there a shortcut key to let your hotkeys work, rather than clicking the keyboard symbol on and off? Also to put a loop on you can use right click rather than double click!
Ctrl + T when not in the playlist. It tells you in the little help bar when you mouse over it.
^ thanks!
Not a problem :)
so many things i forget everything lol, im still having trouble figuring out this program
Where can I get this Flp file??
Some useful tips there, thanks.
Did you mean to put annotations at the end?
great tutorials man,thanks :-)
great video thanks man. question- is there anyway i can skip a section in playlist? for example say after bar 16 i wanted to play bar 21- how do i do this?

Any idea why make unique is grey for me? Anyone?
This Question Is Not About This Video.
For the Menagerie And Anticoder You Did All Of The Guitar Stuffs By Your Self?
A little problemo, when I change the default kick to another one, the kick changes for ALL of the patterns.
+Cronexx if you want to have different kicks in patterns, try to just add the new kick below, instead of replacing it. every instrument you want to use should be listed in the pattern window (even if you are not using it in the specific pattern)
You are awesome! Thank you so much!! :)
Can someone explain the importance of a limiter?
+Akir Stuart well. if you notice, while making the song, there is a bar on the top middle of the screen that goes from left(yellow color) to right(red color) when you play a song. if your song is not mastered correctly, the bar might go all the way to the right (to/over 0 decibels) and if it get over 0 decibels, your song will clip, which can be a problem for your track and can damage your speakers. fruity limiter, when put to master channel (by default on a new project) is used to limit all the sounds in the project so when they come together, the song does not clip (so it never goes above 0db).

super useful, thank u.
These are Basics like it says on the Tilte of the video x_x
Nice vid. Really useful tutorial. Thanks :)
The title is "FL Studio Basics" -.- It's for beginners. I knew everything too!!
ametuer rapper/producer here would appreciate some help i cant drag and drop audio files in the playlist the cursor seems to be stuck on all the writing tools but cant drag DIRECTLY From the windows desktop or music library into the playlist to sample from right click in to the edison you seem to know whats what and icould use some insight thank you
How did he get those vocals? are they downloadable? or do you have to manually speak into a mic?
They're FL stock vocal samples. If you go to the browser search and type in "laurie" you'll find 'em.
Dan Marko True, but I'm pretty sure Laurie had to manually speak into a mic, believe it or not.
