These snowball cookies(Boule de neige) are amazing - and my favourite. They definitely deserve more attention! They are seriously tasty but not many people know about it - so be the cool person and surprise yourself and others with this recipe.
    ★Ingredients (for approx. 22~25 cookies)★
    Butter (room temp) 49g
    Powdered Sugar 17g
    Cake Flour 58g
    Almond powder 33g
    Crushed almonds 8g
    ★Steps★
    1. Beat the butter smooth.
    2. Add the powdered sugar and lightly beat it (cream the mixture). If you are using a stand mixer then use the paddle attachment.
    3. Add the almond powder and cake flour. Mix until it's crumbly.
    4. Mix in the crushed almonds.
    5. Rest in the fridge for 30mins~1h.
    5. Roll it into a ball of 8~9g each. (Work quickly)
    6. Bake at 170°C for 17~20mins (Preheat the oven to 170°C)
    7. Once the snowball cookie has cooled down slightly (but still warm) cover it in plenty of sugar powder.

I just found your channel because I'm getting back into baking and I cannot wait to make these! I'm hopeful they will have a similar taste and give me that nostalgia hit, but regardless they look so easy and delicious!!

I wondered about the origin of these as I grew up with variations of these eggless nut cookies from Eastern Europe, but with walnuts. I found an Institute of Culinary Education article with an interesting explanation: "Their creation has been traced back to medieval Arab baking that predominantly featured ingredients like butter, sugar, spices and nuts. As trade routes began to broaden, these sweet confections made their way from the Middle East to all parts of Europe."

hi cheff what is the difference between powdered sugar (icing sugar in the cookie) and sugar powder for coating?

    • @HanbitCho
      @HanbitCho  2 ปีที่แล้ว

well sometimes people refer to the same thing which is really confusing. when you say icing sugar it's usually powdered sugar + a bit of cornstarch.
