Just for future reference, you only need like 3 small dots of KVD'S concealers to do the trick without them being heavy, hard ro blend or creasing. I highly recommend no more than a few tiny dots, it's a no swiping concealer in my opinion and I love it.

I think KVD products should come with quantity instructions because the biggest reason that I see people disliking her stuff is that they use way too much and complain that it's heavy and cakey. Full coverage products shouldn't be used with a heavy hand and if I've learned anything about her products it's that they're all full coverage and less is definitely more. lol.
Yeahhhh when I originally got a sample of her foundation I used the perfect amount until deciding that it was worth the investment. As soon as I got it in the bottle, I used WAY too much and hated the outcome, but I knew it was me, considering that the little sample from Sephora was enough for like 5 applications. The second time, I only used 1.5 pumps and it was the perfect amount. 2 pumps is too much for me. Now I know lol.

I'm black but several of my really close friends are basically transparent, and one has problematic skin so I watch so I have an idea of what'd be good for them when they're stumped. :)
I bought the LA Girl Pro Conceal in Porcelain for the first time recently. I wasn't that impressed, and couldn't believe how "dark" porcelain was considering every one raves about it! Collection Lasting Perfection and NYX HD are definitely my top two favourite concealers (and both have pretty light shades too!). I definitely want to try out the Tarte Shape Tape though, haven't heard a bad thing about it!
RiverOfBeauty I am white as paper, im naturally pale with the combo of anaemia and extremely bad circulation, so I have abnormally dark under eyes all the time as well as pretty much see through white skin. The La girl concealer is definitely too dark for my skin, but it really works for me, as my undereyes are so dramatic, the fact its a lot warmer and darker on my skin REALLY helps to colour correct and make them vanish, it blends out well so it doesnt look like I'm an orange panda. For someone with not so bad under eyes and pale skin, it would probably not work as great, but after setting it with a near white powder too, it somehow works haha. But thats just me

I haven't tried it (as I don't buy Tarte) but have heard several people who strongly dislike it - to the point of not being able to use it - b/c of its strong fragrance. Just a heads up!
I also have the la girl pro conceal in porcelain and even tho it's too dark for me I love the formula so much I keep reaching for it!! It sits really well on my dry skin and my acne and looks great under a medium coverage foundation

so i was so excited when i saw LA girl had a white concealer! jumped on this website she listed, bought it.. and when i got it i was so confused when it was glittery! turns out it's the shade "highlighter" (which duh i should've known it's a HIGHLIGHTER) But yeah, i wouldn't consider it a concealer whatsoever.... or at least for me anyways. It's a white creme highlighter. So unless you want shimmer concealer, stay clear. idk if maybe she bought a different one? or if hers is also the highlighter? but yeah i looked everywhere for just the white concealer because i thought maybe i just clicked the wrong thing... they don't have one :( tottally bummed! but it was under 3 bucks so oh well!

I was just about to comment that, I bought it bc I bought a really nice concealer from Sephora but they colour matched me 3 shades darker than I am (I have freckles so the shade matching thing they have never really works on me) and I was so excited about this concealer but it's like translucent and glittery

Really disappointed with the la girl concealer. Couldn't find a "white" only the "highlight" which I'm fairly sure is the one you used and it's just a very sheer white with glitter all through it. I'm not a fan of putting glitter under my eyes. Upside is I only spent $9.50 aud so I guess it's not too much of a loss.
Yeah it's definitely classified as a highlighter even on their website so I'm not sure how Taylor made it work but did you know they came out with a new white foundation mixer? Heard it's pretty good!

In the winter I get so pale I've used my mom's white face paint as a foundation (she's a body painter)
Use it to cut your crease or to make colors pop like yellow

So excited to try this! I bought the LA girl concealer and love the consistency but it's a bit dark for me too, I've been mixing it with my Maybeline fit me in a lighter shade. But in really stoked to try this because I have that same BB cream, it was my holy grail BB cream when I fake tanned but it's waaaaaay too dark for me now. Yay for white mix ins!! But i do really appreciate the fact that you kind of show how to deal with acne and still wear make up. a lot of youtubers that do make up videos have great skin! when trying to "attempt" to emulate those looks i can never get it right, because i am ALSO trying to cover acne, scars, discoloration, etc. so i just wanted to thank you!!
I just purchased the kat von d about 3 days ago and I have been loving it. i wish there was a white concealer before. i love the formula. i don't have a creasing problem under my eyes, i set with either the too faced primed and poreless powder which is a super underrated powder, i don't know why more people are talking about it but its so amazing and my skin feels so soft all day and my makeup is on all day, or the chanel universal loose powder is very nice too when i want to add coverage. you definitely only need little dots to mix with another concealer, that in my opinion was way too much.
ive not yet tried mixing it with foundation so i don't know but i am loving the kat von d!

Hi I've been using the stargazer pure white foundation as a mixer and the powder to lighten my foundation if it oxidises. Also if something is pale but too yellow I mix it with some of the nyx purple concealer to neutralise the tone eg Bobbi Brown alabaster is too yellow on me but mixed with purple (and a little white) I can make it work. Just to continue the theme from the yellow concealer you mentioned the reverse is true od lilac/purple. Best wishes. PS I live in Scotland so LA Pro is more difficult to find whereas stargazer is available on AmazonUK for around £4.

I'm having the same dilemma! The "white" shade doesn't look pearlescent or shimmery but swatches of the highlight shade look silvery :( I want the white concealer so bad but I'm torn.

desisonam09 Lighting makes her look darker. You can't tell someone's skin tone based on a video or a picture because there's too many different factors that can change the way it looks.
desisonam09 She's fair, but she's definitely not super pale. She has foundations she uses and loves that are too dark for me. She uses them as is as well...no mixer. That's a more accurate way to know someone's skin tone....compare products.
The LA girl concealers have always been $5-$6 around where i live but i just found a website where its only $2.50 so a little cheaper than where you got it.. Its the sister website to shopmissa. They sell them there

I don't know what it is about you, but you have such natural beauty with and without makeup and I love it! You are so so beautiful and I love your videos, I'm an extremely pale Puerto Rican so I struggle a lot with finding the right makeup but your videos always help me out :)
I prefer dewy over matte myself. This a good idea if I want to try a new foundation that I have an issue finding a shade that done match well enough.

I've mixed pink foundations and yellow foundation and in natural light my face would look straight up pink. The pink undertones are overpowering

I always have mix my foundations because of my skin tone.
Im Mexican but im very very pale. I just ordered tartes shape tape ultra creamy concealer in white. I also love using nars light reflecting setting powder because my skin leans more on the dry side but i love that it also doesn’t add color to my makeup
I skipped the KVD white concealer due to the fact her L1 shade is already the perfect highlighting color on my ghostly self. Lol.

Mandy Trout They have a white HD foundation that I've heard is pretty close in quality to the makeup forever HD foundation. They don't have as many times as the makeup forever, but I've heard they're expanding and they have white and dark shades to help adjust your foundation
Jayme Beynon i wish she told us it's not called white it's a highlighter. So it's not matte. I'm oily so I don't want to b mixing a highlighter in with my foundation but thanks I did just see they have a white foundation.
i'm incredibly excited about the kat von d foundation review; i'm looking for a flawless finish foundation for special occassions, and the new shade 41 is perfect for me. my main hesitation is that it's very full on, and being the sweat monster that i am, i don't know how mixing it with her featherweight primer will affect the waterproof quality of the foundation. by the way, estee lauder came out with a waterproof concealer that has a pretty light shade (1y02 in sephora speak) that i'm really eyeing since the lightest mufe waterproof concealer dries down 2-3 shades darker than it is wet.
with the LA girl concealer, i find the finish improves a LOT once you set it. it feels a little naked to me if i don't.

I own the LA Girl yellow concealer because it came in a set with the green and orange. I have always wondered what to do with it and I have yellow toned skin. Why did it never occur to me to use it as a mixer? You are THE BEST.

@thataylaa can you PLEEEEASE help us out and tell us if the LA Girl white concealer you used in this video has shimmer in it? Also, does it say "highlight" on the front? Loads of us are buying the new white shade and when we get it it is shimmery like a cream highlighter vs a flat white concealer. The key to LA girls concealer is to let it dry a little so it thickens. That's how you get the full coverage of it but it looks good overall.
The Body Shops lightening drops are really good too! I also use them as concealer, if I want to lighten up more under eye even more. Been thinking about buying the LA Girl white concealer, so thanks for the vid x

I guess I think I'm darker than I really am but I'm nc 15 Mac and mainly yellow undertones which makes finding my shade even more difficult because makeup assumes that pale people have pink undertones and tanner people only have yellow. I buy the wrong foundation shade on the daily and they always look orange on me boooo. 👻 I'll be on the lookout for a yellow concealer and if I'm feeling kinda vampy the white concealer.

Makeup Revolution have released their Halloween collection which includes a white powder and foundation.
The KVD lock it foundation is so heavy, that I literally just use it as a very expensive concealer. It's so heavy it just cakes on me so bad and looks terrible in my pores. Regardless of primer.
Nucking Futs i had the same problem and was about to give up on it but the girl at sephora taught me a trick and it changed the game for this foundation! she told me to mix it with the primer instead of priming then applying foundation. im telling you, the foundation has been my holy grail since I learned this! adjust the primer to foundation ratio depending on how much coverage you like. I do half and half, and the coverage is still amazing since it's originally SO high coverage. covers blemishes, but shows freckles. idk how it's possible but it is haha adding the primer gives it more of a satin matte finish, so it even LOOKS more like skin, rather than just a thick layer of foundation. I love it. anyways, I'm done writing my novel lol i just get so hyped about this trick because it was a game changer for me :P

Can I ask what primer you use? My favorite primer is smashbox HD photo finish primer. But just curious what you use to mix with it?
Nucking Futs i just use the primer from her line because it's water based like the foundation. check your primer ingredients for any oils that won't sit well with a water based foundation :) I dont know how well yours would mix because all I know is oil and water dont mix. I dont know anything about silicones or any other HD stuff. Maybe compare the ingredients between the two primers? or the primer and her foundation and see if they have similar ingredients:3

my favorite way to use the kvd . is to add it to my moisturizer. it ends up being the absolute perfect full coverage tinted moisturizer that actually sets and stays put...for special occasions add little liquid illuminater ...GORGEOUS
I have a terribly hard time trying to find foundation because I have pale neutral skin and it seems like every foundation is yellow toned which I can pull off but I like pinky tones better! :( And I love my freckles well most of the time lol

Not sure if you're still looking for good nude lippies BUT if you are I have pail skin also I have the hardest time finding foundations, bronzers and lippies. I think I finally found a few that I like and you might like to! For lippies I love Chi by colourpop cosmetics, a little more on the brownish side but still really nice and also caramello by stilla 👏🏻 and for bronzers Hoola by benefit is pretty amazing. I have both the Kvd and LA Girl concealers but in skintone shades. The Kvd one does set really fast but the LA Girl one just doesn't give me any coverage. I never understood the hype. I prefer my Kvd or other concealers.
Edit: Someone else commented that the Kvd concealer only needs a couple of tiny dots and then blend. Very true!
I use Glam Girls' Phoera soft matte foundation and it's essentially a 2-in-1. I don't need concealer. It is perfect for I think $12 but don't quote me on the price

I LOVE the kat von d white concealer. The only thing is I don't like it with brushes; a beauty blender is required. I just use it as an under eye concealer and highlight around my face and then also set it with the sponge. It's like magic
The la girl one I have and I also have other shades and rhey say like porcelain and tan or whatever but the white one says highlighter and it is a liquid highlighter that's got glitter in it

In your next project if you made a foundation that would nail what a fair princess foundation should be i would so get that! And you could call it fair princess too.. You should have a line called fair Princess... that would be awesome!!

PLEASE HELP! I went to the link for the LA Girl concealer in white, and the closest they list is the "highlight" shade, which has a pearl finish! I need this so bad- can you tell me where EXACTLY to find the white non-pearl concealer?

Literally just because it's Kat Von Dee - it's a high end brand that sells expensive items. If she suddenly sold something for $3 it would make her brand look cheap and less exclusive and fancy - she sells image just as much as she sells product. If you look at the ingredients of most high end products next to drugstore products they are the same. A perfect example of this are the Kylie Liquid Lipsticks ($30) compared to the Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks ($6) - their ingredients are identical (the order of ingredients vary slightly) but at the end of the day you pay so much more for Kylie's name, for the status, for the brand... for the image of wealth. And I'm not about that; I just wanna look fierce and spend my money on better things - so gimme my colourpop and LA Girl thanks! :)
CherryRed 314 higher end products often use quality ingredients and also less fillers. KVD is also vegan and cruelty free so you're also paying for no animal testing and the packaging that she designs herself!

The LA girl concealer is seriously bomb. I've been trying to get my hands on the shape tape concealer for freaking weeks! Definitely don't feel bad buying another 4$ concealer to hold me over until tart is back in stock. Good stuff!

I don't remember if I already asked but when you mix the white foundation/concealer changes the finish of the original foundation?
Luiza Raemdonck there's some mixers that don't change the foundation like the manic panic dream tone one, I use that one, but as you saw with concealers it can change the finish like the KVD made it more matte. hope this helps!
