    This travel video production is very well made and candid. I love that you included the public baths. I love the introduction to the cookhouse. I also like your shoot of the mooring and casting off of the vessel in port. Your walk thru style is very informative.

    Excellent ferry review and really liked your food review. I really appreciated how you went through the buffer and described the food as you put it on your plate. Handling a tray, selecting your food and filming at the same time can't be easy. I only wished you ate more so that we can see more food 🤣🤣

    It's a good deal. For budget travelers, getting your laundry done, sleeping, etc. while you are enroute makes sense. The food looks tasty enough, especially that karage and the fish cake. Six hundred yen for the beer seems steep, but yeah-I would pay it.

    Japanese food is often not to my liking (very "western" sometimes lol), but the food choices here look great. I love the natural Japanese way of having little bits of everything. Much nicer than one big plate of the same food :) Loving all your videos seeing parts of Japan I probably would not see as a tourist. I don't drink alcohol these days, but I LOVED the beer vending machine. Not just straight pour - no no. Varied angle pour to avoid foamy beer, but a perfect "head" from another nozzle. Japan - the country where surviving from vending machines is not that painful :) I still remember the excellent vending machine canned iced coffee I had in Japan !

    • @duncanmcewan1049
      @duncanmcewan1049 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      DUDE !! I commented after what I see was the "appetiser" and then you went back for the main course lol. So many asian folks with good appetites and so thin. I look at anything fried and put on 3kg :p #lifegoals lol

      I should watch the entire video before commenting !! "Thanks" for ensuring my next trip to Japan will see no landmarks lol. I was obsessed with the Shinkansen before, but now I see Japanese ferries are also worth investigating. When you enjoy the travel as much as the destination, this is amazing ! Oh yeah - and as others have said. Your subtitles are far from stupid :) Loved the Queen references.

    When I was in Japan the Japanese were astounded that I like Natto. Took some back to Australia which has the strictest food quarantine in the word. Wasn't sure if I would get it through but I did declare it. Upon questioning from the quarantine officer I opened one package of Natto. One sniff and 5 seconds later I got the all clear and told to move on and move on quickly. It was so funny. Natto certainly has what can only be described as a unique smell. Still, on rice with an egg totally delicious.

      Unfortunately from what I've been told on other channels, a lot of vegetable dishes are flavoured with fish based broths or sauces, so vegetarian food is a little more difficult to find. Which is a shame... although it does exist in many places.

    I'm just curious. In the states we have food that is breakfast staple and then food for dinner which is also eaten for lunch. It interesting that in Japan y'all eat what we call dinner food all day. Do ya not eat things like cereal, pancakes, grits, oatmeal things like these for breakfast?

      This is a ferry buffet, there are more items on the menu than a regular breakfast. Our usual breakfast is much simpler.

    I shall be traveling on F/B Asterion 2 from Venice to Patras in a few months’ time. As you might know Asterion 2 is ex-Ishikari 2. I shall in some ways relate to your journey.
    Yours is Ishikari 3. Launched soon after the 2011 earthquake, due for retirement in 2026 or so?

    Your trip report with the accompanying subtitles is excellent, one of the best. I'm watching this video through my "Israeli" eyes, which means load food as much as you can. It is rather weird for me to take such a small portion of "free" food. Can you feel the taste after eating such a small portion? Love your videos.

    • @shibatravel
      @shibatravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Eating many kinds of food in small portions may be one of the Japanese food cultures.

    I'd like to try the curry with rice. Is it spicy or like rice and gravy?
    I can't stand shrimp though.

    • @shibatravel
      @shibatravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It contains spices, but it's not too spicy because kids love it too. It contains flour, so it's different from gravy and Indian curry.

    Is it customary to use cash(paper/coin currency) to pay for most things? Here in the US I tend to use a bank/credit card for most my purchases. I really enjoy your videos!
