if you wanna add it as a background goal once you get the ability to make the items that is fine but you can not currently get the pet transmogs. you need the items to spawn the events to be able to get the transmogs for the pets
I just figured that Desert Habitats are 30 construction exp per inventory slot while bagged plants alone are 31 exp (+ 31 farming exp) and there is a consistent source of noted buckets of sand: Earth Implings. They give 4 buckets of sand at a rate of 1/10, that's 0.4 buckets per impling on average. With one bagged plant and 12.5 earth implings, you would get 5 bagged plants worth of construction exp. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Unlike other bagged plant objects, Desert Habitats don't require any tools to use, not even a watering can, leaving more inventory space for building materials. You also only need to build 6 times less total objects per inventory, since it uses 6 total materials rather than 1. That all turns out from 1k coins for 31 exp to 1k coins and 12.5 implings for 181 exp, making an average earth impling worth 12 construction exp or 387 coins worth of bagged plants. From 92 to 99 construction you'd need either 210k bagged plants OR 36k bagged plants and 450k earth implings OR fix the mast about 18,5k times. Christ, I wouldn't wish any of those on anyone... Imagine how easy this would be with a saw or the granite chunk unlocked. EDIT: You COULD also use bagged dead trees and composts x 2 for 37 exp each craft. Only 6 more for 3 extra inventory slots, so probably not worth it.
Yeah I agree with some of the other comments. I wouldn't require the pet skins until you unlock the Forester chunk proper. That's the only chunk it makes sense to have it be required.

Yes, they should be added. Shooting stars were included whenever they were added, and I think this is similar enough to do the same. Although I've heard the items you need to spawn the right events yourself are also locked behind the forester, which is a good reason to put it off until you get to one.

You can't get the pet transmogs unless you have the items to spaen the event on you. Padded spoons for pheasant egg and trap disarmers for fox whistle. Make them a requirement once you unlock a forestry chunk bc they're impossible rn
Well it looks like as of today they're going to remove the item requirements for those drops. However I still agree those should not count toward your chunk until you have forestry unlocked. That's the only location that is chunk specific. Just like you weren't required to get items from puro puro until after you gained access to a wheat field, even though individual implings still came into your chunks
The fox whistle and golden egg will not drop unless you have the event items. They should be part of the requirements for the Friendly Forester chunk because you literally can't get them without access to that chunk. Btw you need limestone to make the item for the golden egg, so that's going to have to go on the backlog for a while.
For the pet transmogs, since they are in the collection log, yes they should be a requirement. However for these two, you can't get the event without the spawn items, so you'll have to wait until you get a Forester.
I know you're asking around to check if you need the items to get the beaver recolors. To easily see for yourself, in the forestry kit on your alt scroll down to the pheasant/fox items. Both descriptions clearly say that they're required to get the drop. Now you don't have to worry about random TH-cam commenters arguing with each other :)
For your sanity's sake, no, but for how hard-core you go. I think it makes sense that when you get a skilling pet you should get the recolor, only if it isn't rng based, and instead is point grind based

Why is Limp training farming outside of bagged planets? Getting 99 construction necessitates 99 farming as well without any training outside of it. He'll have well beyond 99 farming by the end of this.
Don't grind out the transmogs that you can't get. You can't get the funky shaped log because you can't get teak/mahogany/maple/arctic pine. You can't get the golden pheasant egg because you can't get limestone... So I guess you can get the fox whistle.

I think the unique pet recolor's should only be included if you were lucky enough to receive the pet. If you get a pet in a new chunk, then I think you should have to go back to get the recolor's

There is a supreme chunk account who goes for the skilling pet or level 99, whichever comes first. Either way I don't think you can get forester pets without a forester kit.
Look up BuzRs pretty sure he does skilling pet, every seed from nest, every drop table drop and different quantities lol i dont think he'll ever leave his first chunk as he needs tangleroot

Skilling pets are not chunk exclusive so getting their recolours shouldnt be a requirement
