StayC always have that emotional quality to their songs and their vocals really help add to that. Sumin’s tone is my fav, but Yoon’s voice just hits for me every time she sings, ever since their debut.
I love this comeback from StayC, it’s one of their best in my opinion. I also want to recommend the group TripleS with their subunit Acid Angel from Asia - ‘Generation’. It’s their debut song and it’s my favorite debut this year alongside Attention from New Jeans. If you care ofc, even in your private time, I think you’ll really like it. It’s super catchy and refreshing, it’s a mega hit in my opinion.
When it comes to overall vocals of a group , STAYC are them girls !!!! Underrated as hell as well as their discography . Super talented & I can’t wait until they blow up .
The one in the red that you mentioned is Isa (pronounced "eye-suh"). She's considered one of the best dancers in the group and she has a super pretty and bright vocal tone too! Glad to see her get some attention!
I see what you mean about a darker mv. I felt like the happier mv was meant to emphasize the sad sound of the song. I didn't like the song as first, I prefer angsty music and it felt really happy/celebratory. But listening to it without the mv made me love it. These girls can sing sing.
I thought the exact same thing about the MV! The lyrics and their voices just make it so much more emotional so I really wanted a darker MV and less dancing. They obviously killed it either way but yeah I just want a live video of them singing it without the dancing
Now I wish there were 2 versions of this mv like a Beautiful ver and a Monster ver. I like the OG because of how it contrasts the song so much, it makes me feel like when you are in a difficult relationship but (esp when you're young) you only want to see it in this bright rose coloured way so you ignore all the bad signs like cactus' etc. But then if there was another version like yours it would be more a "the way it actually is" version and could show the contrast between dream and reality.
Interesting suggestion for the concept of MV. Yes, this song has an unique emotional element and can also fit a darker concept. I think the director of the MV decided to have a brighter setting because this album was released in the summer, so they went with film grade coloring to give a late summer nostalgic vibe.

StayC YoungLuv mini-album is a masterpiece man! it really covers what Kpop and R&B can do
I see the vision regarding the mv...never thought of it that way tho...this is probably my fave choreography from them

3:57 makes me giggle
"Love is ooh-"
Micah: ooh
"hoo"
Micah: oh
I remember when I first heard this song I loved it and started sobbing during J’s bridge and Sieun’s high notes in the chorus 😭

Agreed! Maybe two in one would’ve been great.
wah i loved your own vision!
Thank you!!
I love the song but the mv is soo pretty especially in Sumins first part how the sun was shining on her hair gave me fairytale vibes

Nice review !
Thank you!
We Love STAYC 💕
Agreed! I think a concept similar to 2NE1 - It Hurts would’ve been so nice with the songs
100% this song could fit a darker/sadder concept. It would’ve been great!
