    "huh" - Lori 2017

    Small detail, but I can appreciate how they made Lori's phone look futuristic, considering the year is likely somewhere between the 2030's and 2040's.

    One of the very few laughs this show ever gave me. It's such an adorable moment and it brings me such levity after such a draining and profound experience with the rest of the series.

      The writers foreshadowed it. Thanks to another comment on this thread I realized; the thing that stopped her from killing herself before she joined the GR was a phone call. Right before she was going to go scuba diving she got a phone call from Jill. That saved her life again.

      @Ali Bal it’s a call back. laurie said that to nora in episode 6 before she left to go meet up with kevin and co. nora gave her the cigarettes and laurie became her therapist. i think she was saying that to say nora can still trust her, as in she’d never betray her confidence as her friend and therapist.

    • @kayb6803
      @kayb6803 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It's one of those little intimate phrases said between close friends. Since Laurie is a therapist and helping out a friend in a therapeutic way, they take a little quip from Laurie's line of work and what she would say to her client. Except Laurie is more than a client, she's a very close friend. It's also away of re-establishing their relationship after hard truths have been said between them. It's almost like saying "Yeah, I said this hard truth to you because we love each other and we can always be honest with one another."

    Lauri really is a terrible person. Again she accepts the suffering of others - here again Kevin - to stick to her ideals. She's not a member of the Guilty Remnant anymore, but she still lacks empathie. A somewhat qualified therapist should have been able to find a solution that could be acceptable for Nora without keeping Kevin in the dark about the fact, if Noras still alive or not. This still feels like Laurie needs this secret to feel superior.

    • @willhagan8002
      @willhagan8002 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Damon has confirmed that Laurie has no idea Kevin was going down to Australia every year to look for her. There was originally a line from Kevin where he tells Nora he was lying to people about where he went on vacation, but Justin thought it wasn't necessary/was already implied and didn't want to say it when he performed the scene, so Damon agreed to cut it out. But the intention is still that no one in Kevin's life in Jardin knows that he's still searching for Nora.
