i love everything about this song: the lyrics, the double meaning, the emotions, the “dr. jekyll and mr hyde” referece; it’s amazing! it’s really interesting because it fits very well the concept of this album (exo vs their evil selves: x-exo), it’s super creepy and in the chorus it seems like exo and x-exo are having a “conversation” (“i’m already in you”/“i’m in control”), even their tone changes when x-exo/hyde starts singing

I say this under every Jekyll reaction but this song is a masterpiece. Here you have a whole dialogue between exo and x-exo, exo and their alterego just like the famous jekyll and mister hyde, the whole warning work like a quotation mark to show that exo or x exo is going to talk, the way one is shouting trying to take control while the other is captivating is just incredible to me, wish more fan showed appreciation to it
THE LIVE VERSION OF JEKYLL IS A DEFINITION OF A MURDER
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide is a novel about a person who is so good and his alter ego who is a monster. So yes, basically it's about fighting your inner demon. Which is actually the theme of the whole album.
The name of the song refers to the novel Dr Jekyll and Mister Hyde and is pronounced like the novel... i love this song, it's my favorite from this album. There is no choreo but there is the live performance. sorry for my english... thanks google translator

There’s actually 2 choreoes for it the first one was performed by the 6 of them in exploration concert and the second one was performed by kai in his solo concert kloor , both are so amazing as expected from EXO🤍
"Jekyll" shares the same DNA with "Obsession" and it's my top three in that album. The shouting and the "ooh" part creates such an interesting contrast and I can't get over it. It has choreo when it was performed in concerts, but I reckon it suit for group performance

Exo saves me. Their music is like a first aid kit to me, healing my soul and punching my face and saying to me "you're alive, can u hear us? Can u feel this? You have emotions, you stay alive and everything will be okay". Their angelic voices and emotions are a masterpiece. I love them, i respect them, i miss my ot9.

Jekyll is my favorite song on this album, followed by Trouble. Actually, I recommend listening to all the songs on the Obsession album, for me it's one of the best exo albums. I would love for you to react to Lay's stuff, especially Flying Apsaras (this one has no MV, just a 40 second visualizer, but man, it's so much more produced than many mvs that I've seen it. But on the other hand, it has a dance practice, the choreography is insane), Namanana, Sheep, What u need, I need U are also very good

Every song is so good that every time you hear it , it feels like that first.

Not just the song but the lyrics and the way they perform it live is so captivating.
The story is a reference to 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' and tries to create an analogy with EXO and X-EXO (EXO's dark version).
The plot of the book is about Dr. Jekyll, a role model because of his good manners, his intelligence and so on, even though he was also criticised for having some mystical believes and doing non medical experiments. As you can expect, at some point he was tired of being correct most of the time, so he create a medicine that make him look like a terrifying person (like a monster) and making himself (as Mr. Hyde) able to do anything he wanted, including committing murders, because nobody knows him. At some point Dr. Jekyll was no longer able to control the presence of Mr. Hyde, so you can feel while reading the novel all that tension of a fight from a man with his evil alter ego and that's what is exactly portrayed in this song.
Hope you can understand what I write, I'm just learning English but 'Writing' is one of my weakness.

Omg yes JYKLL performance is really captivating in a hypnotyizing way.
The song talks about the existence of both the darkness and lightness/goodness inside of you, with Jekyll and Hyde used as metaphors, in keeping with the Obsession (and possession!) concept of the album where EXO is fighting against their evil clone/alter ego (light vs dark). The whole song is about this fight between them where the light is resisting the dark side. This is shown by the different voices, tones and textures of their voices, along with the lyrics. Towards the end, it looks like the darkness is taking control of them. The music suddenly stops and you hear Sehun's last line, "Peace out." as if the light is suddenly turned off and they are plunged into darkness.
Next "Groove". Jekyll and all songs from Exo's 'OBSESSION' album is about alter ego, fighting the dark hidden side of ourselves
This whole album is just pure gold. They followed through with their concept. Jekyll like Obsession is directly talking about EXO and X-EXO. Jekyll and Hide basically - the good and the bad side of one's self
The only thing I don't like about the album is that Lay Xiumin and D.O. were not there. But mannnn it deserves more appreciation. EXO just keep surprising us.
Jekyll is one of my all-time favorite B-sides from EXO.

The moment I heard it I wished I'd heard Kai sing it solo, it matches his voice tone so much. And he made my dream come true. At his solo concert KLoor he not only sang it but they made a new choreo (so artistic and unconventional, as always with Kai)

Well I think the lyrics and the whole song in general is inspired by the novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Also there is a choreo for this song but you'll have to watch a live performance to see it, there isn't like a dance practice video for it unfortunately

If you know the classic horror story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll, mad scientist, concoct a potion, he drinks it and turns into a monster that goes out and murders, and conveniently turns back into the Dr., as detectives search for this murderer. The Dr. feels compelled to continue his rampage as the monster inside of him wants to take control of him, and he struggles with the 2 personas as he tries to hide from the police, who know him as a well respected Dr., who seems to spend most of his time locked up in his lab. Defying the monster within him, he fights the urge to let Mr. Hyde out of him knowing what will happen, yet feels the need to succumb to his darker couunterpart.

Thinking about the Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, the chorus is showing the struggle between the two sides of the same person, which one would take the lead, the "punching sound", is like I see a man who's body transforms constantly between Jekyll and Hyde , an endless fight with himself (" break out", "I shot you down")
