Well done in every way possible. You capture the countryside perfectly with a beautifully detailed set of dioramas.

This is a great layout. It captures Australian colours and textures so well. Beautiful work.

Genius idea to cover the helix. Wow ! Beautiful layout and you have Alcos. Subscribed

Many thanks for the feedback. Pleased you like it. Yes, plenty of Alco branchline locos. I rather like them. Cheers

And in Wisconsin Central inspired livery. The maroon and gold really stands out.

Great job in blending it into the scenery, I also have done something similar, but use N scale on my HO helix to force perspective on top of my helix.

Many thanks. Forcing perspective is an effective device. I neglected to mention that the farm scene in the corner is scratchbuilt in 2mm scale with N scale cattle. Cheers

Quite a clever use of space that in many cases goes to waste. Nicely done

The way you use scenic elements to fool the eye is quite impressive. Not only is the helix disguised but the whole layout appears much larger than it actually is.

That looks brilliant! Does the helix feed down into a storage yard as well?

Thanks Caleb. On the current layout the helix feeds into the mainline junction. The mainline then feeds into the storage areas, one of which is under the helix. On the previous layout the lower helix fed down to a double-ended storage area. The other end of the storage area fed into a single helix that led back to the mainline. Cheers
