    Louis is a very good teacher. Despite working in a doughnut shop I repaired all my Apple equipment myself since his videos are online. The way he teaches on a very specific example and his underlying methodology enabled me as a complete noob, to extrapolate and fix all kinds of problems sometimes vastly different from what he showed in a video. Once you grasped the "motion in the ocean" you can localise and fix most stuff yourself.

    I enjoyed this interview immensely. Having gone to school in 1991 for being an electronics tech (computer electronics/robotics) and then the military and then spending the last 20 years as a systems admin for ISPs, I relate to all this. Keep up the good work.

    Great interview. Louis is always a great character to watch. I love his overwhelming compulsion to tell it like it is. His integrity is refreshing. Thank you for letting him speak his mind.
    I understand, and relate to his experiences with education. He learns as someone who needs to first be taught the underpinnings, the theory, and then how it works. I get it because I'm the same way. Some day he will be known for his integrity, frankness, and independent thinking. As someone who is also self taught in IT, I recognize the characteristics that make that special.

    Louis is a super interesting guy. How he got started doing this was pretty cool but his more personal stories about things like the veganism were surprising and awesome. These interviews are great, Eli. Thanks for arranging these!

    Thank you very much. This is really interesting video. What I value the most about your videos Eli is that you share real life experience, and now we got to know how somebody else got successful, true stories are the best. And what's cool about Louis is that he got up by him self, it's not just some job after college, but self-taught road to success. Thank you both once more.

    Yea it seemed Eli's headset was not selected in his shot in the Wirecast.. sounded like is was just using the camera mic. But I had no trouble hearing it all. You can tell at 49:41 when he throws the headset on the table that it is not in use... good mic on the camera however.

  • @whoisntwhoisit2126
    @whoisntwhoisit2126 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    46:25 Thats EXACTLY how i feel about ALOT of learning sources... i was Just commenting on someone doing this in Simply Electronics beginner videos... when we learn differently, when we arent capable of school learning but can learn how to program in any language at any time on the spot or how to fix motherboards through hardware ect on our own with sources we look for ourselves - its amazing how there still isnt another category of learning made for schools yet that teaches this type - there are lots of us and we mostly all learn the same too - hands on type work, just different from the masses. Hell I *think* you could probably teach the masses the same way us different learners need to be taught. Unfortunately if they taught the way we need to learn it they probably wouldn't be able to get as much content taught in the same amount of time so the way they teach now just seems like a shortcut for those capable of learning that way and a reasonable percentage are capable of learning in this way.

    We work next door to a best buy that does "virus removal" for $300. We have a standard procedure where the only way to get rid of a virus for sure is to reformat the pc(even a couple macs). We help them back up files to a device they bring and reformat it for $85. Geek squad isn't to fond of us haha

    It's funny... Louis has buckets of common sense, he's witty, smart - even brilliant, in some ways - and very articulate. He's also friends with a gal with a PhD in molecular genetics from Johns Hopkins University (Dr. Jessa Jones, of iPad Rehab fame). He acquitted himself quite well when he gave testimony on Right to Repair before a Massachusetts State senator, and even cracked him up. It's just that he doesn't learn the way most people learn. Yet he's even "book smart" in ways that a lot of college students are not, nor ever will be. He's "Just Not College Material", and for that, we are eternally grateful.

    Comment: There is a clear difference between Louis' audio level and Eli's. Eli's audio has been much more weak over the last several weeks.
    When I'm at my desk with powered speakers that is no issue, but there are many times it is simply too difficult to make out what is said w/o amplification.
