Gotta agree with John, I tried ammo tower defense and let me tell you, to call it a slog was an understatement If you had to leave in the middle of a game or lost the game, that was the worst thing to occur since it took a solid half hour to get back to where you were (or at least it felt like it). If anyone is wondering, Ammo Tower Defence recently had a full overhaul update, revamping everything from before adding a campaign etc. this is much much better than the previous version shown in the video (not to mention the fact that John only played the easiest game mode in the original game but welp), if anyone is looking for a new tower defence game to play i highly recommend giving the new ammo td a try
tower heroes sometimes gets player counts around 5k though and its stays around 3rd-5th place most popular in the tower defense genre. It beats most smaller tower defense games and usually beats tower battles in player count as well so I wouldn't consider it dead at all.
John, if you kept playing tower heroes you can unlock more maps the more you level up. At level 15+, you unlock your first “raid map”. These are maps when there are no set path that the enemies follow. You can place towers in the “path” of the enemies. You can also use fences, which you can use to change the route of enemies. Levelling up these is important, because stronger enemies will break fences, allowing other enemies to pass through. These maps will sometimes have multiple entrances / exits, so you will need to adapt where you place your fences, to maximise the time it takes for the enemies to reach the exit.
Mechacubes is a pretty unknown but good tower defence game, along with that, theres "Tower Battles : Battlefront" that turns the origonal Tower Battles By PlanetEarth into a first / third person zombe wave survival game.
Tower heroes is 100x better than tds because it gets updates frequently, devs aren't simps that make all their skins anime, ACTUALLY HAS BALANCE UNLIKE TDS, PLUS TOWER HEROES IS ORIGINAL INSTEAD OF COPYING TOWER BATTLES

Have you tried tower blitz? Its a mix of old tds and new tower battles and its really fun. It recently had a major update after 4 months because the dev thought the game would die, but just a few hours ago it peaked at 4k players playing at once! The new update includes lots of really cool content.
A really good game that I recommend is Tower Blitz. It’s basically TDS + Bloons Tower Defense. (I also recommend CTD, it’s basically if Critical Strike had a tower defense game)

I recommend playing zombusters(the game has daily player count of 4)and its pretty fun has a lot of enemies and towers though most are made with free models and its pretty diffucult can go 0 to 100 real quick(note its more fun late game)

Tower heroes has a rabbit or bunny idk hero that can relate a liiiittle bit to the military, cuz on max levels it has like bazookas and special ability to do more damage if you place more bunnies next to this upgraded one.
Hello John, I am a moderator and tester for atd, I just wanted to let you know that I could not agree more with your rating for ammo tower defense, it was pretty bland, especially since casual mode is the most boring mode in the game, however, I just wanted to tell you the overhaul has finally been released for it. And I wanted to ask you if you wanted to try and review it again, the game itself is kinda bland for now since ammo just released it and some of the stuff has not been made yet, but it would be a pleasure if you went back to the game one more time and see your final opinion.
There is another TDS game which isn't actually bad. It's called Tower Defenders and they may be a bit slow on Tower updates but some towers have their own voices. Be sure to check it out

I loved tower heroes until got a blue screen playing it and my FPS went down to 5 at max whenever I played it, I had all the heroes for the time but now there’s actually a lot of heroes in the game
you should actually play tower heroes more, it's really fun and has a lot to it. like you said, it's very cartoony, and that is basically the only bad thing about it. pretty much like tower defense simulator but really cartoony, updates don't take years and is just genuinely fun. also it has different modes, and it also has modifiers to change your game if it gets boring. just a really good game, would actually love seeing you play more even if you don't see blood and guns being shot.
There isnt any blood in tds and also im pretty sure tower blitz has the same concept (like challenges and modes) and it has guns so i THINK he would play tower blitz instead of that cartoony game

you cant believe how strong the bosses in tower heroes, theres litteraly a boss that can downgrade your hero, and theres one with about 2.5M health
Please try out World Tower Defense, basically like Aether Rush but your towers can actually take damage and die, and also they have the gorilla tower!
