Cam won rookie of the year, an mvp, and had a superbowl appearance. Up to this point, Burrow hasn't even surpassed Cam Newton but he gets all this hype.
But Cam had only two really great seasons, maybe three. Burrow had been money every year. He’s injury-prone so far, so we will see.

It seems to me that there is this idea that first round picks (except Brady for obvious reasons) get a lot more respect / leeway and are always gonna be better than guys drafted in the later rounds. For example, it's like there is a belief that a guy drafted in the later rounds can't possibly be elite. Players should be evaluated on their performance not draft status which is the only thing that they can control.

@@realngga0 When Joe entered the league Mahomes had 1 ring and one MVP, since then he's won another regular season MVP along with 2 more rings and 2 SB MVPs while Burrow has won nothing. The gap was pretty big before Burrow even entered the NFL and since then it's just got bigger. The goal is not to beat KC, it's to win the SB so simply beating Mahomes in the AFC championship game is pointless if you don't go on from there. If they ever start giving out silverware for just beating #15 then he's in luck but given the fact he only finishes the season 50% of the time Joe needs to get a move on and turn some of this potential into actual accomplishment.

Buffalo gives the Chiefs problems in regular season the same as Cincinnati. People living off Mahomes rare bad playoff game. In all the games Chiefs were up double digits and turnovers changed it. Burrow ain't that good cuz they never have scored 30 in a playoff game with those weapons. They defense carried them with timely turnovers.

I would say he actually has done more than Burrow. He has never lost to Mahomes. He took the Rams to the SB and the LIONS to the NFC Title game. He doesn't get his flowers because he is not the type of QB they love.

Took a franchise that had not won a playoff game in over 30 years and many considered a laughing stock and not only won a playoff game took them to a Super Bowl in his first chance. With 4 backup lineman and almost won. A team that 2 years prior was the worst in the entire nfl. Then the next year went into Buffalo with 3 backup offensive lineman, and dog walked them. Took the same line minus both tackles and best interior offensive lineman in Arrowhead and lost by a late hit that lead to a walkoff field goal. I saw what happened to Mahomes down 3 lineman. I don’t think people put into context how good what Joe Burrow was doing. Right now he the 2nd best qb in the league when he plays.

Well he’s 3-1 against us and I will say we’ve been consistently the best team in the league beating us in the title game going to the Super Bowl that matters. It’s way harder to win a championship in the NFL than the NBA so just going to the Super Bowl definitely matters.

For those that don't get the Joe Burrow praise,Hes Has won a AFC Conference Championship. The only other QB to do so since 2018 has been Pat. And yes he made a SB appearance. When another AFC QB can do either one of those things while Pat is playing, the standard for him will rise.

Dude has been sacked 148 times in 4 seasons or 50 games. Thats an average of 38 sacks a season. Got sacked 8 times in a playoff game, and 20 sacks in a playoff run. All of those hits add up I don’t care who you are.

If you had put Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, or even Hurts behind that O-Line that Burrow took to the Super Bowl and back to back AFC Championship Games, they wouldn’t last long. Playing in the AFC North with a bottom-5 O-Line is a recipe for disaster but Burrow overcame those issues and won playoff games.

He played 51 games in a row at one point so don’t act like he has missed seasons in a row. Some freak injuries, yes, unfortunately, but now he has the best (by far) o line he has had yet, with plenty of weapons (Tee going nowhere this year, and Burton is a burner, and we have multiple TE receiving threats for a first), so standby to see what JB can do when all these things Aline for the first time!

Maybe just maybe it is because of what the later 3 accomplished already. I mean Dak has been to the playoffs and lost multiple times. Jalen had an MVP caliber season and almost single handedly beat the Chiefs in the SB. And Lamar is a product of his own play style, which has netted him 2 MVPS and failures in the playoffs. The other 3 QB's were all "generational talents" coming into the league and the ONLY one that has actually done anything, is either injured or playing to his potential.

Joe was injury prone last year, probably due to all of the hits he’s taken since his rookie year and it caught up to them. Which by the way everyone was praising him for his toughness

2020 - Game 1 Chargers, with rookie Herbert, lost by 3 points. Game 2 - Mahomes did not start.
2021 - Game 1 - Chargers beat the Chiefs, Game 2 - Chargers and Chiefs went to OT.
2022 - Both games were within 3 points.
2023 - Game 1 was the first time we saw a point spread beyond a field goal or OT. Game 2 - Neither started.

They are talking like a QB having to sit out part of the season does not significantly reduce your chances to reach the playoffs or the superbowl.
The truth is that we have seen plenty of promising players who never reacjed their potential due to injury. Its not their fault, and often something they can not control. But it is a legitimate concern.

Burrow is NOT INJURY PRONE! He was CRUSHED in a way people didnt know if he was gonna come back! He wasnt running or anything. Secondly, his appendectomy was a FREAK injury! Like you or me could have had that happen to us! The calf was unfortunate but he PLAYED TROUGH IT and it DIDNT get worse like everyone assumed! That wrist injury out side of his ACL is the scariest injury of all of them because of the uncertainty with it. He actually had it stepped on and I think thats where it orginated from. REGARDLESS, hes NOT injury prone. These are FREAK injuries that he has BATTLED through ADMIRABLY!!! He's a DOG in my mind and the BEST QB in the league if not for the injuries and the REFS!
