    This was an awesome little trail adventure! Love seeing the family out having a good time. It's cool to put these little vehicles through their paces and see how their engineering holds up.

    I really felt like I was on Safari lol... I really enjoyed this video and it was nice to see the family getting involved. Its great seeing a finished product but its even better seeing it in action and capturing it in all its glory. Looking forward to more.

    Came here after your Unimog unboxing. Wow you've got a lovely family, what a great day out! Poor G500, that thing did well. I saw Matteo putting a white one through it on his channel and wondered how it held up to the dunking...

    Great video, really enjoyed seeing the CC02 in action. Seems pretty capable for a Tamiya. I think you definitely would’ve completed the entire journey with some good quality waterproof electronics. Maybe something from Tekin. Anyway, thanks for posting the video and I hope to see more videos like this from you guys! 👍🏽

    Honestly I am surprised a silvercan made it that far, purely turning the gearbox and wheels is a bit of an ask, it might have been all right with NiMH, but with the current on tap from lithium it could happily drink itself to death! It did well though - though maybe some more resistant electronics are required. Also surprised that the wheels aren't beadlocks, c'mon Tamiya you can't make a crawler/trail truck hold up with hope & glue

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was running a Tamiya TT motor not the default silver can. The motor was doing Ok until the ESC half failed.

    Great adventure. Can't believe how hot the motor got. I have been wondering if my allowable exercise can involve driving an RC car but it's not quite as rural where I am so I'm not going to risk it in case a police officer tells me off!

    How many batteries did you use? Its strange how its called a torque tuned motor yet it can't put up with torque tuned conditions!

      Don’t think the failing ESC helped it out much.

  • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks

    Looks like a GCB left you some right rough Terrain in some spots!!
    Are you running the high range gears? RC Crawling is something I KNOW. That just looked too fast for a Crawler, putting a lot of strain on that Motor...
    I use that Torque Tuned Motor in a full 9th Scale Axial, with no heat issues.
    All in all, the Chassis itself did well. Looks like no breakage!! A Hobbywing 1080 ESC would handle puddle jumping better too! 😉
    Good run though! Nice torture test.
    Stay SAFE Mate!

    On the looks of it, I think you are using the HW WP 1060 esc? I have several of these in my crawlers and never had a problem with them. Even when submerged in water. Are you going to replace all the bearings? They wil seize very quick.

    Great vid, something different which is refreshing. Love tamiya but I think crawlers should be left to...... dare I say it Traxxas. You did push the poor chassis though. 👍

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately I kind of agree at this time. I do think after pushing my CC-02, Tamiya could bring out a full blown crawler to go head to head with the big boys if it really put its mind to it. I just don’t think this is Tamiya’s goal.

    add a waterproof HW 1060 and a 21.5 brushless with the sensor board painted over with plasi dip and is would be good for wading no problem. Is the motor mount itself aluminium?

    Nice video! I think there's nothing better than sharing your hobby with your family on such a sunny day :) BTW, I am a Tamiya lover and I really like this car. However I am not 100% sure to expend that money on it because there are some other brands offering other chasis that performs better on this kind of country side terrain. Would you recommend me this car? (in my case it would not be a shelf queen but a runner)

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would 100% recommend the CC-02 for trail running but if you want a basher full on crawler then the TRX4 sport is another level. This is also due to the size difference.

  • @paulgarwood192
    @paulgarwood192 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think part of the problem is this car is an off road kit rather than a true crawler! As is the electronics.
    It’s a great looking kit and looked like a fun build but you have just pushed it past it potential. For short and not too challenging terrain I think it’s an ideal entry point to try crawling.
    Maybe you should look at an Axial (new SCX 10 3 is out with lots of improvements) the Traxxas TRX kit, um, there’s lots out there and even more mods. I think they are more up to the task of what you are trying to achieve. But if you’re persisting to make the G50 (hope that’s right) a 4 mile beast, then higher turn motor is a must, a ESC to match (both water proof) and a fan probably more on the ESC than the motor as a higher turn should be less susceptible to heat issues. But a heat sink is an investment that would not be a waste of time if your investing in new electronics.
    Plus if you put real crawler electronics in your kit, you can swap them out if you change to a “crawler” your half way there.
    But thanks for sharing you showed people the true capabilities of the kit, and had a great day out with the family!👍🤓🇦🇺

    • @schuttrostig5729
      @schuttrostig5729 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Motor was fried anyway. Water might still help a bit, because the main problem is the magnets loosing magnetism when getting to hot so cooling it before does help but the water inside will ruin the brushes. You need to build watercooling jacket next time.

    Do not buy these parts aluminum suspensions parts that are made in China. The screws will break during the installation process. I have had two sets and broke them both times. Is there a way that I can provide you a picture of the parts that I am telling you about? The parts are available on eBay. I just want to warn your TH-cam subscribers to not get the parts.
