thanks for the good review. We have indeed a small quantity of Freezer 36 initial batch that was shipped with a LGA1700 only contact frame, the rest is a 1700/1851 compatible one.
I have a gaming PC with 7800X3D and I've been using 240 and 280 AIOs. Now as I upgraded to a liquid cooled 4090, and got a stupid looking fitment with my AIO CPU block hose placement, I decided to give this Freezer 36 a go with the CPU and it's been flawless. Firstly, it keeps the Ryzen CPU easily cooled (even with 100 % benchmarks the package temps get to 77-78, when gaming 60-62 and idle 44-46) and secondly, it looks awesome in my complete black build. Installation is a breeze.
Finally! Someone who uses this cooler in combination with the 7800X3D. I am leaning heavily towards buying a 7800X3D, instead of a 9XXX Ryzen. On my current 5900X, I am using a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO. That thing is awesome, looks very nice and it would probably cool the 7800X3D even better. Huge downside is, that thing is fn huge and causes issues regarding ram clearance. So, I will probably pair the 7800X3D with the Arctic Frezer 36.
I have the dark rock pro 4,and i am blown away about the results of this Artic Freezer 36,i have to build a pc soon for a 12 year old and this Artic will be his first cpu cooler.......
The click fan mounting system is a very good concept. Unfortunate it took this long for someone to implement such a feature. Single tower coolers are my personal preference due to full clearance of my rgb ram. The only dual tower cooler exception is the Fuma coolers without having to remove the front fan
I just bought one of these on Amazon US for $25.40. Black fans and silver fin stack. Ii is just that easy to instill. They also cool very well. In the future I will probably install Noctua fans?
If you already have a E-sports 34 single is worth it to get the 36 or just get another single fan, it will be going on a 5700x. Asus X570 Strix f board, thanks so much for the great video.
If you can manage to sell esports 34 for half of what you paid it for it seems like a reasonable upgrade(Freezer 36 coming with TWO fans while costing LESS than single 34 is insane value if you ask me). If you do not manage to sell 34 it is not worth it.
nice review. Those fan mounting screws would allow you to mount Phanteks T30 fans to the cooler. Most wire clips for 25mm thick fans do not have enough stretch in them to mount T30's on air coolers.

Just order the freezer 36 A-rgb with the combo 12400f, Gb 760M gaming, 2*16 fury 5200Mhz and an Samsung evo 990 pro. Maybe the best VFM build up for 450€. In previous build had freezer 34 esports duo on i5-4600k and till now was working perfectly since 2017- cpu was from 2014 but 3 years with stock cooler, but Mobo died yesterday, ssd dying too so was time for upgrade.
I'm also going to buy this cooler for 7700. Please tell me. Is it possible to mount it vertically? I want that the air to goes from below to up (to the top of the case).
if you were not full of S. you would notice that A35 had thicker radiator sheets , bigger radiator. and also that radiator didn't have air escape path on the sides , like in 36. more fans= more noise. good design was what made 35 great. and BTW more expensive then a36 with double the fans.... and overall height increased for no reason. so it will fit less cases
i wouldn't bash the freezer 35 line too much, this was still a pretty good cooler at 20€. this was substantially cheaper than the freezer 34 lineup at 30-40€. at this price point the competition was something like the endorfy spartan 5 max and lc-power lc-cc-120, so that the was actually pretty competetive. right now the freezer 36 is offered at 20€, which is an insanely good deal and even beats thermalright's highly aggressive pricing. however, arctic has announced that this is their 23 year birthday rebate and they won't offer the freezer 36 at these prices forever. the normal listing price would be 43€, which would be on par with the phantom spirit and more expensive than the xilence m705d or the peerless assassin.
Honestly, only if you are a freak who keeps changing sockets every 6 months (including to older gen) and/or needs 100% uptime. Cheaper fans do fail a tiny bit more often than Noctua. ... but you could just buy a Freezer 36, 2x Noctua NF-A12x25 and still have enough money left over to buy 2 more Freezer 36s...
Would like to inform anyone interested that right now, Sept. 2024 the cooler is discounted on Arctic's website at around 20€ (+shipping). I got one myself because I think it's a STEAL at that price
Just be realistic. This cooler is good. But it is not enough to cool down a 20-24 core processor. Of course If performance is not important you can use this cooler on a 20-24 processor. But the performance can be 20-30% less. I have a i5 14600k and this Artic Freezer 36 cooler. I like it.But I had to "hold back" my processor because the temp was 86-88 Celsius. Losing 5% performance of the processor the temperature is 72-74 C.
To Arctic: take a good look at the DARKROCK PX4, that is how u are suppose to design heat pipes in 2024, get with the program, i better see this in the Arctic Freezer 37 Black and get rid of that proprietary 1700 bracket, if u want to include a 1700 bracket then make a clone of the grizzly bracket. Get It Done.
😒👍 its very nice for amd boards, but for me its a Dont Buy for 1700, nobody wants a proprietary 1700 bracket, everybody uses the custom bracket from Grizzly or one of the clones from china. So thats strike one. And Strike two are the heat pipes, why is it so hard to have the heat pipes tilted to the back a little bit so that all four argb ram slots with high tall heat risers can be clearly seen? Nice try but next time ask us how to design ur coolers cause obviously u guys need to listen better to us builders. But for amd I guess its OK.
It's not only functionally better, but also looks much better.

Are they different or just one lacks the engraving for LGA 1851? I checked mine and it doesn't have any "LGA" engravings, just the Arctic logo.

Someone needs to put the P12MAX fan on this. Am in love with that 3000 RPM fan which spools down to idle at low temps.

a lot

can't they make it double heatsink and 8 heatpipes and kill the phantom spirit? Especially with offset mount on AMD
