We're rockhounding at Hampton Butte, Oregon, a spot renowned for its green petrified wood. Join the journey and see what treasures we uncover. Afterwards, we'll cut open several pieces from the area.

I could tell the place had been worked over pretty hard but it still has treasures to give. 👍

I have always wanted to go rockhounding there. I have heard so much about it. I've not actually seen any videos, really, until now. Just seen and heard of the beautiful pet wood out there. I'd say you did fantastic out there. You really know how to pick 'em! Really nice pieces for tumbling as well. I loved every single piece you sliced up. But my favorite was probably that first piece. Very gratifying watching the swinging of the tools removing earth. 😁👍 Great video, Quest!!

Visiting Hampton was on my bucket list and I would say it was worth the stop. I've recently finished tumbling a few pieces of the green wood! It turned out awesome. I'll make a vid soon to show the results. ✌

I really like the white agate fortification you see in the first one you cut! Subtle and delicate, so nice! Now I want to go back!! (Last summer was my first trip there and I found just a few pieces.)

That first cut was my favorite too! I found it to be a challenging place to hunt during the summer heat, but some of the finds made it worthwhile.

@@RockHoundQuest It's always the rare great finds that keep you going back! That's the addiction of rockhounding!! I also found a couple great pieces there, but I KNOW there's more to find with another visit or two!

      It's a Hi-Tech saw with a 10" blade.
