2024 Monkey Wrench | Cross Country Race

- Didn’t get off to a good start but it made for an eventful ride. Quite a few bottle necks to deal with as well. Finished 15th of 40 in my class.
Overall a really fast race, I really enjoyed this one. Thank you again to all the volunteers! Most of the first lap shown and some highlights from the second.

Absolute blast of a weekend. Always a pleasure sir!! Thanks for the hangs!! That start is alot of the race here... Hard to get many positions back with thoes rowdy teens and 20 year olds😮 your a gem appreciate your calmness through all the craziness. Such a good man! You got rammed like 3 times and not a single curse😅 I would be be hard stressing. That start is insane. Congratulations on the finish brother🎉 running junior over looks not fun. Respect!! 👊
Of course, it’s always a good time camping with you and the guys! I need to work on my starts 😂That’s just racing in this class, I expect to get pushed around a little bit. Looking forward to Vet Am is a few years which seems a little more chill. Congrats on your 2nd place finish!
Congratulations - the competition is more like "cross country", it's a pity that there are no obstacles such as beams, tires, etc., but I envy the very beautiful views.
Thanks Ricky🤘🏻I love the enduro cross type obstacles, wish there was more of them at the races. I feel they would create a massive bottle that I might be able to navigate and get out closer to the front. Very beautiful place to ride!

Yup, I think they still are. Not sure what they looked like back in the day.
Good ride! Had to give my head a shake at about 15:15 when 2 guys bounced you off your line, Then they stop at the top to admire the view? 🤔.
@@glenn5ft19 Thanks 🤘🏻Those were my initial thoughts as well, but it’s different people haha. The other guys were long gone by the time I got up there!
Crazy to see how much dust got kicked up at the start I ended up taking the left side line and got around a bunch of people. That hill where you fell at the beginning slowed me down and took a lot out of me. The kid in our class are aggressive as hell but it was a great race.
@@crunchy349 It’s the race before the race to get a good start. I would have been better sticking left until the top of the hill at that bottleneck. Instead of trying to cut back to the trail. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.

That air @8:49 you're basically a motocross racer! 😂 I think I got two inches of air and thought "Is this what flying feels like?!"
@@coastalenduro I didn’t expect to get that much air! 😂 It’s an awesome feeling, I want to get comfortable doing jumps and gaining air. I chickened out when jumping that ditch at the beginning. Would have been better to just send it!
curious of what gearing you use
Was using 12/45 but went to 13/48 for the faster riding.

Yup, if you stop moving someone’s coming for you 😂 spent more time there then I wanted, but was happy to get through it.
Holy crap, your class is way crazier than mine. You always have the most intense traffic and bottlenecks to deal with where people are just sending it.
@@coastalenduro Very crazy, never know what will happen. I will welcome Vet Am when it comes, but I am in no rush :)
