If the stock going up very fast in short period, can I off set the bull call spread first and make profit, and left the bear call spread, hope the stock will going down before expeartion, Thank you very much
I appreciate this very palatable explanation of the Long C/P Butterfly strategy. I'm completely new to trading options and you made something I couldn't understand from other people very easy to comprehend and follow. This significantly helps me build this new understanding and knowledge into confidence to trade. Thank you, Professor Inskip~
Hi, I use the same strategy but with iron condor, which allows better probability to hit max profit. Do you have an opinion on iron condor disadvantages over butterflies?
Iron condor butterflies also have advantages, the next video we are uploading actually will cover this and when to use it for the best advantages. We will send you the video link when it is uploaded!
Great video, as always ! 👏👏👏 What do you think about selling a Short Butterfly, for example on SPX, a narrower one, 5 or 10 point away, and taking the premium of about 10 to 15% of the width, with a very high probability of being OTM or completely ITM at expiration? Would it be an almost guaranteed safe trade although with a small profit? I have tried this strategy on a paper trading account but I'm not sure whether the fills would be as good as in demo. Please let me know what do you think ! Thank you ! ! ! !
We earn here on all 3 things : 1. Delta direction 2. Theta on buying long term options and selling short term options 3. Volatility crash after the news announecement.
So if price drops to $164 after hitting $167 you lose cost? That doesnt seem accurate. The question was what if price drops. Pretty sure they didnt mean below $140. I think everybody gets that
