Would love to see a comparison between this and a DBXL. I'd imagine they'd be pretty similar if you put a Zenoah in the Redcar, with the Losi being slightly higher quality (but you have fork over a lot of dead presidents for that)
I second this
DBXL has twice the power and a center diff. It will run circles around the chimera. Not to mention the DBXL is quite bigger this is more like a 1/6.5 Redcat is always scaling their cars bigger than they are. The DBXL has years of R&D behind it to make it a proven racing platform. It would not be fair to compare the Redcat Chimera to the DBXL. A fair comparison would be the 1/6 scale Rovan or 30 degree north buggy. Same price range and size and basic inexpensive parts.
Their new 1/18 is closer to a 1/24@@FarmerFpv

Was running my modded Baja a couple weeks ago and had a wheel pin come out causing one of the rear tires to roll off at like 50mph lol. Only bad thing about the axle extenders I have on it.

I picked one of the Chimera up in a collection I bought but it was electric model I didn't even know what it was at the time it was in parts but the guy had everything to fix it back up but the batteries so i had those already and digging into it the thing has a Coke can motor in it! I like it alot Bro it is so smooth a plush to drive! It's worth more then what I paid for the whole collection of 24 RC's so don't hate too much there were a few Nitro's too!😉😯👍📹✔️💯👋👋👋🤣😂🤣

I actually know a guy who has one and have recored some video with it in the past, it was total BEAST MODE!! Now you see how great the RAMPAGE chassis truly is!! Sickening!.

hey bro! It's 2 Stroke Summer right now, all clear for NITRO and GAS! Good question on the chimera VS the 30 Degrees North Buggy. I find each has it's plusses and minuses. Both have no center diff, so that's the positives. I also prefer the open roll cage style body of the Redcat in this video, you don't need to take the body off to fire it up. The buggy seems to have some high spec electronics and a nicer radio.
Got me a savage 5.9 basically for free. Feel like I won the lottery lol. Bought 2 t maxx 3.3s and the guy threw it in for free. It just needs one shock and a radio. Might have to sell it though to fund more rc stuff lololol
i love nitro but for 1/5 the weedwacker motors are dogs and need a lot of work to make them kinda fast . i have had savages since they were only 390 brand new . now im into arrma exb kraton 1/5 brand new $510 put a max8 with a 4274 motor on twin 3s batterys and its a rocket . makes my savage .28-8 w/3 speed look slow !

hey bro! yes man the Redcat Brand is primarily for the USA market. But I will say you guys in the UK have some other pretty dope budget brands like 30 Degrees North, they only recently came here to the USA.
That's not a bad price at all. And I can get a discount on amain stuff. I work at hobbytown. This just might be my next rig. I'm loving my savage x 4.6 right now. But I want a gasser too lol😎 but what is the parts availability Like. That's the main downside to the savage. There isn't enough part/upgrades and information out there

How many oz 2t oil in 2 gallons gas?
Hey buddy, thanks for checking out this video. I normally mix 4 ounces per gallon, that means you need 8 ounces for 2 gallons. I highly recommend you only makes 1 gallon at a time because it’s better for keeping fuel fresher when you are not running for a long time because he gets old in the container.

hey buddy! The blue one was not running at top speed in this video, it was still new and was not tuned for speed runs. The red color one is mine and was tuned for faster speeds, it also was running a different motor.
Redcat came a long way. They have a sick logo but when they first came out they sucked.
hey bro! I will admit Redcat has a Giant variety of RCs on the market these days, some good, and some TRULLY sickening!! Id say this is still one of the great ones. With a minor gear change it could be quicker too, but this was not a speed run video, you know.

@@hybrid32494 I am still breaking in my Serpent SRX8 RTR I had a bad servo or receiver so I replaced them with Savox HV HT and HS for throttle, and I picked up a Futaba 4PM. Once I get it all back together I need to run a couple more tanks of fuel through it and do some heat cycles. I might pickup a 5th scale soon as well, I always wanted a Losi 5ive T but they are so expensive. The Rovan, 30 deg N, and Redcat offer a comparable product at a fraction of the proce

that plastic near the exhaust wil melt. car looks like just out of the box. if u dont run in the motor correctly u ruin it.
Do they still use cheap hardware?
hey bro! I find the hardware to be great, never had an issue. It's all HEX hardware and I've never stripped a bolt.

Good price for a has rig you can rip around and do some mellow bashing with without breaking the bank. Never owned a red cat. Ive always thought a 5t would be my first 1/5 scale but they are so expensive.
hey man! Yes, you really can't beat the value on this rig, thing about the 5T is it's got a center diff and will never drift, plus costs a factor of 2 times more money. Honestly I'm happy with the cheaper straight 4WD setup of these models, and they are also easy to work on.
