Hey! Welcome to the UK in advance! I'm obviously not Anna or Lily but I am a grad at another British uni! Which department will you be in? Did you miss out one of your the questions? I thought I'd chip in to answer them too :) hope you don't mind! Really you can buy anything you need here, Topshop and ASOS are usually good for winter jumpers. Bring nice slouchy t shirts with you if you like those e.g Brandy Melville, difficult to find good ones here. I would recommend a trench coat for autumn, a waterproof of some sort that you can wear over anything and a nice warm coat although it didn't really get too cold last winter. A pair of Chelsea boots or other ankle boots with black skinny jeans is always a winner. You probably won't need very warm boots but make sure they are waterproof! I'm not really sure what would be good to buy here specifically. Mostly highstreet beauty things! Umm... Cardiff is a really great city, the bay is beautiful. People are really friendly. Bring a couple of your favorite 'night out' outfits Cardiff nightlife is fun! Xx

Anna Walsh I saw this question and I thought I'd just share my advice. I wouldn't worry too much about what's stylish. At my uni no one really cared and most people brought backpacks. If you're carrying a laptop with you wear a backpack or you'll just end up hurting your shoulders. If you don't need a laptop then I would bring a tote bag. You don't want to bring too much stuff with you when you have to carry it around all day but you always want to have a bottle of water and some snacks. Sitting for an hour or two in a lecture theatre with nothing to drink sucks.
Jodie653 I'm totally gonna second that! When I first started uni, I bought a really nice handbag off Asos, and it even had a laptop compartment in it, but the handles broke! And I only ever brought my laptop and maybe one or two books with me.. So now I'm using a good old, black, basic Nike backpack. :-D
